KING you're a very odd person. the fact is that East hasn't played anyone who play's D. It's not real hard to score 40plus on crockett. If the clones can get two scores they should have the game. No turnovers.

Cyclones will have to play some serious D to stop Eads. He may be the best QB around right now. Unless the Cyclones build a wall, East 24-13.

Betsy's defensive ends will have to play their assignments against East. Make the QB go inside when he runs. Allow the Linebackers to make the play. The LBs, though, need to get to the QB quickly.

Cornerbacks and safety are in for a treat against East. Watch for the long pass on the first play. Corners need to be prepared for the hitch and go, which can and will score 6 if the corners aren't ready.

Like i said last week you stop Brandon Gash and you stop Greenvilles offense.

The offense Elizabethtons defense will be up against this week is highly more

talented then Greenvilles offense.Matt Eads is one of the most talented QB's in

East Tennessee.He is smart with the football makes good decisions and his stats

have been off the charts starting from his sophmore year through this season.

 

Elizabethtons defense showed me alot against Greenville when you go into burley

stadium on there homecoming and hold them to 6 points my hat goes off to them.

But it dont matter what kind of defense you had last week if you dont have

that same kind of defense you had last friday the way your offense has been playing Sullivan East will come in and make Elizabethtons homecoming a disaster.

 

Its going to boil down to the same thing it did against Greenville stop Matt Eads

you stop there offense.They might hold East to under 21 but Elizabethtons offense

has not even seen 21 the past 2 games i will go with Sullivan East in this contest.

Hi everyone I'm back It's been a long year of recovery but glad to be alive. Didn't even get a visit from my friend and sportswriter Krich.

I'm ready for football and the Creek is rising. Not the water, the team. I know this is eliz and east post but it caught my eye first. Can't believe East beat Eliz. last year, and if they don't use the CREEKER BOY as a QB they will beat them again this year. Have read much about the Little CREEKER BOY also this year. wonder where he will be next year. RANGER FOOTBALL, JUST LIKE BASKETBALL is now on top., Sorry to hear about Jenkins. Krich you still with the weekly sports paper just got a new one and saw you on the front page.. WOW never thought you had it in you, Front Page .. anyway my pred. on the game East 24 Elizabethton 3

Welcome back, Creeker. Haven't been on much lately either.

I haven't seen East; Have seen the Cyclones twice.

Cyclones are a work in progress; apparently very inconsistent offensively; but I wouldn't claim to know the solution.

 

Eddie Pless is a Great guy; played with him at ETSU. He's hearing the "Bring Ryder Back," "Can't run the ball," chants, etc; plus the fact that he had to take over a program still reeling from the devastation of losing Coach Jenkins. He's not in an enviable position.

 

As to the quarterback situation: Wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

There are several picking East and I don't blame them. Betsy can't score enough with their offense. It is too limited. Krich, If they don't address the QB problem, then there will continue to be problems. Tough job for a first year head coach, but Pless is going to have to step up and do the hard parts of his job if he is going to be successful. That's part of it. I mean, how many games does he think his defense can pull off for him. Will the D make this team play-off material. Maybe? But first round play-off material. That seems to be what they are counting on. They watch the film so the coaches would have to be blind not to recognize that they need a QB that can move. #8 is the package. Young, but he is the package. Coach Rider says he is the best thing he's seen since Shawn, so that says alot. Shame Smith he is still watching. A wasted year for an exceptional athlete. As Dream said, "they threw the fans a bone and let him run one series, what an opportunity." We want and the team needs more bones.

IceMan & Krich, Pless is a very smart coach and he has to know there needs to be a QB change. Whether he will over-rule McKinney is the question. I think you have to put the offense woes on the O. Coordinator because it seems as if Pless is leaving the decision to him. Shame on Pless for that. Betsy has put up 19 vs. SH, 3 vs. TH, 23 vs HV, 9 vs. South and 8 vs. G'ville. Now take out the defensive scores and it spells trouble.

looks like the Offensive coordinator is the one who needs to wake up! Although Pless is taking the heat, might be McKinney that needs to be looked at. I watched McKinney play in the early 70's and he was a good athlete but somtimes good athletes don't make good coaches.... I saw his baseball record last year and his team won 20 games,,, but finished last in the conference,,,Too much talent in town to finish on the bottom in any sport. I also heard Peters and Jeffers both were injured in the Greenville game... Anyone else hear this??? Don;t get me wrong my blood runs true maroon, but I pull for all of the county teams, unless they are playing the Rangers...

I think Jeffers is ok, but I'm not sure about Charles. Peters is very important to the team. He's a go getter. Think I'll call CY and check on him.

They havent played anyone and Betsy is getting better every week they beat Greeneville and they are a pretty good team

 

East better wake up out of their dream or they will finish 5-5

The more I think about it, the more I think the Cyclones will win. East will be against a real defense Friday nite. It'll be the first real test for them. If the Cyclone D can get the O in very good position, they might get a few numbers up. East is vulnerable to the run, but I'm not sure about their pass defense. Of course, there is not much to look for from Betsy but wr screens and a slant or fly. That's it. 23-21 Betsy. Could be better???
