Guest region4fan
You are insane if you think that the JC players are not reading every word of this character assasination on this forum. Coacht is a rite of passage for all athletes across the state. Coach U may forbid the players to post, but he certainly can't demand them not to read it. If you guys have the need to analyze every snap and every call and don't want the players to read it...i suggest you each throw down the 12 bucks needed to buy a Plus Membership. Then you can say what you choose on the private boards without fear of the players reading it. Plus you will be helping Coacht to not have to reach into his own pocket so much to maintain this site. I don't know what was being discussed that parents did to Coach U that was so bad that it upset the players....but you guys need to realize that Coach U has a family too with 3 children....they shouldn't have to be subjected to any of this cruelty at the games. Maybe it is just East TN fans that act like 2 yr olds......I heard what has happened to Meadows at WB. A security guard has to escort him off and on the field. It is time for you to act like an adult and provide a good role model for your children. Maybe you need to be banned from the games. Marty, if you read this...............remember that even through the worst of times.....our fans at OHS never bashed you on coacht. I will pray for every one of these idiots. basketballisbest
JC has a great program; sometimes you have to realize that you just aren't as strong. I think that may be the case this year. It's probably difficult now, but I'm sure JC will be back next year with a quality team like it usually does. Good luck to all of you JC fans and team members. I don't know of anyone bashing anyone personally except you. I agree, parents and fans need to act like adults and should not act that way at the games. However, as long as we chat about football and not the coaches personally, I don't see the harm. Men fought & died so that we could have free speech, but in today's times we must remain politically correct. Even if something is wrong, we must find a positive spin. The sky is always blue here on Fantacy Island. My last post was nothing but positive. If you find that what everybody said about last nights game offensive, maybe you should grow up. As a fellow christian, I do take offense to "pray for every one of these idiots". I know you probably didn't mean to sound that harsh, but at all cost, when you bring my Lord & Savior in sentence, do it with reverence, not anger. missingthesouth
The funny thing about the two point play, if it would have worked, Coach Euverard would be a hero. Personally I think it was a good call to go for two. You shock Karns on 4 and 11 with a score. They are stunned. I would have gone for 2 and the win, instead of playing not to lose. Jeff County fans have a lot of positives to look forward to with Euverard coaching and a couple of young running backs. Stay behind your team. BARNYARD PAT
Well I hate to say I told you so, but her it goes! JC4life, 10, lawyer and all the other guy's that get on here talking smack. FACE FACTS, NOT DREAMS. 1) The best RB in east TN made a mistake early in the game--TD Karns I am not bashing Schevy, he is a top notch RB, and he came back and showed how good he was after he made the mistake. 2)O-line-We got mashed all night long up front, Karns beat us at our on game. 3) D-Famous front 7 got pushed arouind, and back 5 yards at a pop. 4) DB still can't tackle a GOOD running back. TD Karns 5) QB did make some good passes early in the game but as I stated earlier this week, WO have to catch the ball, especially when they hit you in the HANDS. 6) 17- 14 score JC has the ball driving to score, and the next pass, if you can call it a pass. Well lets just say, it was a little behind the JC wide out, in fact it was almost behind the Karns DB, but you now what happen. INT --returned it to the 30 yard line. TD KARNS. JC makes a great run at getting back into the game late in the forth quarter, Schevy and all the others made some good plays, even Ben got of one of our famous screen plays, and Schevy scored once more. THEN THE DUMBEST PLAY IN THE HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL HAPPEN, JC WENT FOR 2, NOBODY AT ANY SCHOOL ANYWHERE WOULD HAVE GONE FOR 2. JC WAS THE BETTER TEAM, BUT GOT OUT PLAYED, AND OUT COACHED. THIS TEAM IS BETTER THAN THEIR RECORD, THEY SHOULD BE AT LEAST 5-1, AS A STATED EARLIER THE COACHING IS OVER RATED, NOT JUST AT JC BUT AT EVREY SCHOOL. REMEMBER I TOLD YOU SO. Guest region4fan
Yes, you do have freedom of speech. That is the beauty of the boards. However, you may need to search some posts on your past threads......some have gotten very personal and have gone a bit too far. Kids model and repeat what their parents or adults (that they respect) say. You can't have the kids questioning their coach and expect to win. Did it ever enter your heads that could have ben the ruination of last year's championship bid?? too many chiefs? Now I know why there have been so many coaching changes. WaCoJaCo
Don't be so down on your team and coach for not winning at Karns. When Karns has their head on straight they can beat anyone in East Tn. People still make fun of DB for losing to them last year. And thats sad for two reasons. One, Karns had a better team than their record showed, and two, that was last year and people need to get over it. I said before the season that Karns would compete for # 2 in the region, and people laughed. It looks now like they could compete for #1 in the region. Especially the way DB has looked the past two games. DB's defense cant stop the run when going up against a bigger more physical team. And thats exactly what Karns is. Also DB's passing game has gone south in a hurry. I look for Karns and Campbell Co. to give DB all they want. That will be two very close games. So before you trash your team understand this. Karns is a up and comming team that can not be overlooked anymore. We might as well get used to it and get ready for a battle every time we play them. At this point in the season I'd have to put Campbell Co. in there to.

JC4life
I just think that a region game, on the road is not the place to go for 2 in that situaltion. Kicking the xp is a no brainer, the HC has to look past one play, looking ahead how can you not see that going for 2 is the wrong call? If you don`t make it you lose, you kick the xp and you are sure to get at LEAST 8 chances to win. There is no coming back if you don`t get the 2pt play, you lose right there. The coaches have to give our team every possible chance to win , we lost 15-20 chances just by not going to OT. For you people saying that I would have no problem if we had gotten the 2, you`re wrong. As soon as I realized we were going for 2, I said out load "Stupid call, we`re going to lose" I know this will sound harsh, but a coach who makes that stupid of a call, deserves to lose. I remember Mike Martz doing the same thing with the Rams, and he almost lost his job because of that one call. I don`t care what level of football it is, middle school, high school, college, or the NFL, you HAVE to kick the xp. What is so bad about OT anyway? Unless the rules have changed, don`t both teams get a chance with the ball, like they do in college? How can you not like Jefferson Co's chances in OT, with Shiverdecker, and our D. I JUST DON`T GET IT!

I JUST DON`T GET IT! 825365252[/snapback] There's an old axiom "Go for the win on the road and the tie at home." The reason for this truism is the fact that when you're on the road you are at a distinct disadvantage in an OT situation because of the surroundings (and the officials!!). I don't fault coach for going for the win--I do wish he had used our strength to try to accomplish it by running Shivy toward the pylon for those few yards. With those zebras, one holding call in OT and we're toast. By the way they flagged us all game and marked the ball on Karns' long TD drive in the third quarter, or missed Elder's out of bounds step on his last TD run, I wouldn't have trusted them in OT. I remember a number of great coaches going for two at critical times in their coaching careers--Sparks, Fulmer--two local college football coaching greats come to mind. Besides, our defense wasn't stopping Karns anyway. Just my humble opinion. Edited October 3, 2004 by hsfbinsider10

If that offended Coach U, I do appologize and then would recommend that he see a dermentolgoist to get some thicker skin. By the way, don't you think U should be watching film instead of reading our post? I think that time would be more productive. Not one kid on that team was questioning what U was doing until last Friday night. He created that problem, not this board. Kid's aren't stupid. As far as last years team, we went as far as we were capable, we may of had too may stars, but we sure didn't have too may cheifs. In 29 years we have had 5 head coaches, the first had coached for several years and wanted to slow down, the second coach lasted two years and quit because of his wife's health problems, the third coach lasted nineteen years and was tired of coaching, which I think any middle aged man can understand. The forth, was loose cannon when he came here, we all knew he wouldn't be here long. I would hope the fifth would last at least 10 to 15 years, but who knows? Maybe you know something that the rest of us don't know, I didn't know he was under any pressure here? I know the JCHS fans don't like to lose but other than Friday night, I have heard no rummblings. I would assume that some parents are upset that their kids aren't playing, which you can look to the sidelines and see the bench seems to be getting smaller every week. However, I know of no pressure being put on him.
