Record Setting Season

This is truly a secial year for Campbell County's football team. Chris Johnson has already set the single game rushing record and the season and career records are poised to fall as well. The defense is having what can only be called a fantabulous season with eight players in the Knoxville News Sentinal/WBIR Prepxtra top 25 tacklers, icluding Oscar Byrge and Jesse Bowman who are in the first two slots. The team is also in a great position to set the school's win record and go to the TSSAA playoffs for the first time ever. My hat is off to this special team of young men and I have to say that you have made my first football season as sports editor one to remember.

you said it man, can't wait to play them bullpups from down there in beardon that it's killing me. when that first snap from the line of scrimmage i just feel i'm gonna brake thru that o line and make some plays and cause some fumbles. you keep writing and we'll keep producing baby!!!!!!! thumb

I'm in it with this team for the long run. This season has been great and I'm looking forward to a bright future for the Cougars. Tradition has to start somewhere and this year's team has continued to build on the success from last seasons team. The future is looking bright.

1st. you havent nobody that youve played has a winning record right now. A couple of them are 3-3 but who have you played thats good?

 

2nd. do something once (have a winning season) its luck. everyone else is having a down year. After youve had 3 or 4 winning seasons then start acting like your the best team around.

 

3rd. if those bullpups beat ya friday night where is your program going to go? will you lose the rest?

You can't have 3 or 4 winning season until you have can ya Bdog, and thats what we're workin on this year. As for luck, luck has a lil something to do with every winning team winning, It's not all luck tho. There's a lot of things that have to heppen for a team to win.

This team isn't winning on luck it is winning on the basis of its teamwork, strong defense, good special teams play, and an offense that is really starting to move the ball. This season is the where the Cougars finish turning the corner that they started last year. MoEast may not be that great but they just beat a traditionally strong MoWest squad, South-Doyle is not that good right now but that was a district win. Scott County was a smaller school so we beat them like we should have but that doesn't make them a bad team they play in the toughest 3A region in the state, Sevier County is a long time powerhouse and the Cougars handled them with ease. The Bulldogs will likely be the next victim of this team and then it'll be time to look to upsetting two of the better teams in East Tennessee before th big rivalry game with Karns. It's gonna be magic.

Do you believe in magic? If you don't you should come witness Campbell County as they are having their best season ever.This team is talented top to bottom andas much as the seniors will be missed their is a strong underclass waiting to build on to the new COugar legacy.

I hope Campbell County goes to the playoffs. I used to work with several Campbell County grads. I know they are happy now.
