McMinn County -vs- William Blount

This week McMinn travels to William Blount to play the Govs, both teams have not won a region game this year and are struggling to keep their programs together. McMinn was defeated by Soddy Daisy last week 30-7 and only gained 108 total yards with 78 of those coming on a long run in the 3rd quarter. The Govs were defeated by Oak Ridga 52-19 last week and have not won a game all year.

This will be the 1st McMinn team in 12 years not to qualify for the TSSAA playoffs and by far the worst offensive team since the '83 (2-8) team one year before long time head coach John Mullinax arrived. Can McMinn win their final 3 games and salavage this year and finish 5-5 or will WB win their first game of the season?

JC4Life, How's Aaron doing this year at WB?

Not too well from what I hear, according to prepextra he has 112yds on 27 carries 1TD catch and has 6 tackles. I would guess that he wishes he was still at Jefferson Co with the guys he played with for 3 years, some since middle school. It all worked out for the best for Jeff Co though, AJ leaving allowed Chris to move into the starting RB role and the rest is history.

WB-24

McMinn-7

After watching McMinn "play" at Soddy-Daisy, I can't pick McMinn to beat anyone else. They seemed to not want to be on the field. Right after that game was over, we were down on the field and a lot of people were saying they couldn't believe that was a McMinn team. No life, no fire, no one seemed to be trying. What has happened to McMinn?

I suppose when you have two teams that are a combined 2-12 there is not alot of trash talkin going on. I understand that you need to wear your hard hat when you go to WB because the fans have started throwing things @ coach Meadows. If McMinn can somehow win this game and beat 0-7 Bradley and 0-7 Heritage they can salavage this season (5-5) and look to next season with some hope.

This is the smallest senior class that I can remember and I have been close to the program for 13 years. I know that they will graduate Moody LB, Stansell SE & FS, McBride RB, Cox OT, Frazier WB & LB, Price K & P, Smith OT & DE, Locke RB. Even though it is a small class it had quite a bit of tallent some of which was realized and some never developed. The challange for next year will again be the O line, they have gotten alot of experience this year but they still have a long way to go to be considered good. GO TRIBE!!!!
