well here we are again, camden and lewis county! last year a much improved lions team goes to holeinthewall and out plays lewis co. but the refs had other ideas. this year its at camden , no deer stand and horn for the visitors and no band playing while the offence is on the field ! this years camden lions are even better than last years team and they have only one goal ..... state champions! no doubt that this years team from lewis co. deserves to be here , but they are no match for the lions of camden . depth at most all positions , and a years worth of experience seperate these two teams . the camden fans will be in fine form i am sure and the team needs no extra motivation to play lewis co. all they want is to win it all baby! focus from the coaching staff and a strong will to win , what more can be said . camden will not over look lewis co. , but dont look for a big blow out . my pick ..... camden 28 - lewis co. 10 .Go Lions!!!

Come out to Wright Field early Friday night. If you were at the Huntingdon/Camden game, I expect the crowd to be even larger for the Lewis Co/Camden game. Camden has proved alot this year, they are not done yet!

Without the refs Lewis co. would have lost in the first and second round last year. They have fallen back a little and Camden has made huge leaps. I think if the players don't have too many jitters at the start this one could be ugly. But Lewis co. defense could keep them in the game if we are too jumpy. I know Coach Ward doesn't run the score up much, but i'd like to see about fifty points hung on them just for being such terrible host last year.

Wise words gerry, they just got beat, and that is that.... and i believe the score against mckenzie was a little blow away in its own nature, so i don't see where you're getting at with the whole they would have lost both the 1st and 2nd rounds if it werent for the refs..... go preach to someone that wants to hear it.... this is a matchup thread, not an excuses thread...

well, the match up between the Camden Lions and Lewis Co. won't be much of a match up Friday night. The Lions will correct any wrong doing from last year when they roll past the panthers.

I got some helpful advice to the folks from Camden. WIN A PLAYOFF GAME, then you can talk all the smack that you want. A 9-1 regular season record is great and all, but if you don't win in the postseason then it really means nothing. Lewis County won more playoff games in last year's postseason alone, by beating Camden and McKenzie, than Camden has won in the school's history. According to Murphy Fair, who is the GURU of high school football here in Tennessee, Camden has won a total of ONE playoff game. That lone victory came in the first round of the 1996 playoffs. In 1996, the seniors on this Camden football team were still in the third or fourth grade and the underclassmen were as far back as the first grade. On the other hand, the seniors on this Lewis County team have but one motto and that is that they have BEEN THERE & DONE THAT!!! In closing I'll again say the following: WIN A PLAYOFF GAME. If you do this then you are eligible to get on here and talk as much smack as you desire.

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
