I've seen Temple play their first two games and they are really good this year.

They have a few areas they need to work on (defensively), but overall they are going to be tough to beat.

Caleb Skogen scored 33 points (Ibelieve) in both games -- and he really didn't have his A game in either contest. He is jumping lots better as well. He did have a dunk in the game against CAK (almost two -- but in the second attempt the ball slipped out his hand).

But anyway, Dee Newson looked really good on D. He is lightning fast.

Zach Mouw is more aggressive than he was last year. He had some good minutes in both games (scoring and rebounding).

Seth Skogen is doing ok -- but I didn't think he is at his potential yet.

Sean Wadley didn't do as well as I thought he would in the first two games -- but he'll get better.

Temple got some good minutes from Sophmore Josh Smith off the bench. He plays very good defense and rebounds the ball well. Doesn't get many shots -- but that will come in time.

Cudd had a pretty good game against East Ridge on Thursday night.

And so, the overall feeling is that Temple will be difficult for most teams to beat.

They should win their district and region to play at State.

They're my pick to win at the 'Boro in March.

The Tournament everyone in Chattanooga is talking about is the Tennessee Temple University Tournament. Playing in it will be: Temple, Grace Academy, Unaka, Chattanooga Christian, McCallie, CPA, and Christian Heritage of Dalton. A real slobberknocker. Look for Grace and Temple to trade wins, and to play five times.

I would say 'you're wrong' about this 'slobberknocker'.

I don't know what the brackets are for this tourney -- but I will go out on a limb and say that Grace won't do well in this one at all and that Temple will win it all.

I doubt very seriously that grace and temple will 'trade' wins.

yes courtney white does have the speed to guard him, but they will probably keep him on the younger skogen and let brandon brown, the quickest player on the team, guard him, this guy can guard anyone in chattanooga if he plays smart, sometimes he gets overanxious and doesn't play carefully enough, but if he settles down, watch out for him

I forget who the idiot who said that CCS will beat temple- I think he said it with a little more enthusiam and guarantee- just proving to everyone what an absolute moron he really is- CCS was supposed to do something in state last year and couldn't even get out of their region b/c temple beat them- now they are worse and will get pounded in the ground....

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
    • It seems we lost a ton to graduation. We shall see how it shapes up for 2024.
