Is this really a HS Sport?

First of all, most bowling alleys are not supposed to sell beer during the high school matches,(it is in the rules) and another thing, it is a sport.  I know many of people who spend a lot of time at the bowling alleys, including myself.  It actually takes effort, and it is not as easy as it seems.  I would like to see some of you who think it is not a sport through a ball down a lane that is oiled and get a strike and do the exact same thing on a lane that is dry.  What do you think will happen?

You people disgust me. How about stop talking about bowling as just drinking beer and having fun. It is fun but it was one of the most competitive sports out there. It takes a lot of physical and mental strength to bowl. It's not easy ya know. You people can't even break 150 most likely unless you get lucky. I can easily get over 150, since I average around 200. Bowling is a fun recreation and sport. If you want to prove me wrong... then take a little test... go bowl 20 games and if you manage to average over 220... and your hand hasn't fallen off... then you can tell me bowling isn't a sport.

Nope. I'll pay for my own games. A 200 average isn't much to brag about I know. Still one of the best in my region though.

Mainly because the swim coaches don't want TSSAA coming into their sport. It has several unique features (combined team state titles, and eligibility for homeschool kids) that would be lost.

I can't even average 100. I've gotten over 100 only 3 times in my life. The highest I ever got was I think a 169.
