All the games in the Ladies Classic will be broadcast locally on WSMG-AM 1450 in Greeneville.

Lady Chargers played there last year. The girls were treated great and it was a strong tournament, a lot of great basketball. You will enjoy it.

A couple teams not mentioned above that could make some noise are Jefferson County and Walker Valley. Walker Valley is a top 10-15 AA team as is Jeff County in AAA. And of course there's South Greene; Chucky Doak is also playing well. At the risk of offending the westerners, I seriously doubt we will see an all-wilson county championship final. Maybe one, but not both, and you can quote me on that!!

The Cyclones from Elizabethton will bring an Excellent defensive team; but if the schedule is for consecutive days, fatigue could factor against them.

 

I know they'll match up well with at least a few of those teams. They defeated South Greene in last season's Regional, and are certainly a noteworthy invitee.

Lady Cyclones played three consecutive games in the Tennessee High tournament two weeks ago, beating a very good JJ Kelly in the opener and an improved Sullivan South team, before losing by 6 to Archbishop Carroll. I think the coaches have the team in better overall shape this year; but fatigue could be a factor because you could be playing four in a row which really favors the deeper AAA schools. Last real chance to simulate the week of your district and regional tournaments(with back to back games). Cyclones vs Jefferson County in the tournament opener should be a good game; or at least I hope so!!

EHS vs JCHS opener will be a good one. And I feel that based on what I've seen so far, the folks in Greeneville are in for a Thrilling week.

 

And rest assured, 'corner,' it Will be a GREAT game. The Lady Cyclones have stood up to every test to this point; no reason to think they will do otherwise in the Classic.

Its an honor to be invited and I expect our lady cyclones to make a good showing. Im a little worried about the 13 days between games; Jeff County is not a team to be rusty against!!

I believe the level of competition in this tournament is twice that of the Arby's this year. This is serious state tourney competition and the tourney organizers are bringing in out of state teams that are comparably matched including the Louisiana state AAAA champs.

We don't really know a lot about the out of state teams coming in. However the in state teams this year provide some awesome competition. In the same bracket are Mt. Juliet, Greeneville, & Heritage. Wow talk about some good early round games! Jefferson County brings a lot to the tourney. Chuckey-Doak is a much improved team this season, South Greene looks to be down due to turmoil but you can't count them out either. This tourney year in and year out is one of the finest in the South. If you can make it to the tournament you need to get out and be here. Tickets are $20 for the entire tournament or you can get them for $6 a day. Good luck to the teams and I hope we see some exciting action!

Lake Mary, Fla is 13-0 and has not had a close game to date.

 

They are ranked # 1 in Central Florida in 6A, the largest classification.
