Hudson to the Braves

Tim Hudson was traded by the Oakland A's today to the Atlanta Braves for Juan Cruz, Charles Thomas, and a prospect pitcher! Does this put Atlanta right back in the drivers seat to win the NL East again?

Definitly a step in the right direction, I think we need to pick up another bat or two to be back in the drivers seat.

one of the best moves they could have made....also moving Smoltz back to the starting rotation will help.

Schuerholz said this is the best rotation Atlanta has ever had? Hudson, Smoltz, Hampton, Ramirez, and Thomson! What does everyone think, is this better than Maddux, Smoltz, and Glavine?

I like the trade, but I don't like them shipping out Charles Thomas. He was a spark for them last year. They also got rid of Eli Marrero. I checked their roster the other day on MLB.com, and Andruw Jones is the only outfielder left. Pitching staff is fine and dandy, but who will be in the OF w/ Andruw?

Is there enough cap room left to pursue a player like Magglio Ordonez? I could see him being a great fit in Atlanta!

As I look at the free agents left, I see a few players that I think would fair pretty well in Atlanta including Magglio Ordonez, Moises Alou, Danny Bautista, Jeromy Burnitz, Marty Cordova, Juan Gonzalez, or Ben Grieve! I also know there is rumor going around about Sammy possibly becoming a Braves? Dont know if that will happen though! But the guys I have listed up above could be had at a decent price and be major contributors! Alou and Ordonez would cost the most but that would be two guys that would have alot more production also! Plus, the Braves still have Dwayne Wuse who did show some promise of being a Major League player!

Is JD Drew staying or not. I hope so, I really like him. He is the fastest on the team, yes even faster than Rafeal Furcal. He is a gamer, he plays hard every game. He was a great addition last year.

JD is gone, Atlanta dont have enough cap room to re-sign him, they could offer him arbitration though, but he would turn it down because he can make alot more if he moves on somewhere else! It is looking like if the three team trade between the yanks, d-backs, and dodgers get done, that the dodgers will have freed up enough money to sign JD!!!
