I want make a prediction, but Gibbs may have the best talent they have had in 10 years. Great coaching, Senior talelnt, young talented freshmen and sophmore classes and speed. Could lead to a great year.

Gibbs always has great defense,just didn't know about their pitching this year. That's why I picked Alcoa and Seymour ahead of them. Sounds like it could be a three way race.......

Gibbs have four pitchers: Ashley Goodson JR, Melissa Presley JR, Kristen DeLapp SO, Danniell Thomas FR.

Most of the other schools in District 3 just have one or two pitchers Gibbs has four that could pitch for alot of other schools.

In 2-AA, Rutledge returns all but one starter (lost one senior period) to a 20-5 squad that finished tied for first in the district in the regular season and runner-up in the tournament.

 

Elisha Collins anchors the team at catcher. She was an All-State selection last season and the player of the year in the Lakeway Area.

 

The Lady Pioneers have a good pitching staff and it will be intact for the next two years.

In 8AA Greenbrier is the team to beat until proven otherwise. Their pitchers are back, they all played together in the summer, they are well coached, and they know how to manufacture runs when they are not hitting the ball solid.

 

Lipscomb and Hume-Fogg should be strong. Station Camp could be the suprise team in the district.

What's the story with Thompson, catcher for Greenbrier? I heard she got injured in basketball. She's an important part of the offense and defense for the Bobcats.

Well I hear that Walker Valley is going to have a pretty good team this year. Last year they didnt lose any seniors and they did pretty well for a three year school. Edited February 14, 2005 by Olucky06
