Hot off the presses: GCHS will travel to Vanderbilt's Memorial Gym next Tuesday night when they take on #1 Brentwood Academy. The game, no doubt moved because of capacity limitations at BA will be another barnburner.

 

I'm just wondering if BA has ever played at Memorial before, is so, that is a huge advantage for them. Most college teams struggle @ Memorial, I am so anxious to see this game.

Can't wait for it. Round 4 of the 'Battle of the Big Men'. What time are you gonna get there Neely? I don't guess we have worry about a seat, but the SS will need to be close to make an impact on the game. We'll be outnumbered but I hope we can keep it loud. I'm out.

The move is official. I ran into Coach Pitts this morning on my way to the

office and got the same info. According to Coach, Belmont and Lipscomb

were unavailable and Vandy was the 3rd option.

 

To my knowledge, BA has not played at Vandy in recent years. The benches

at the ends of the floor will be a distraction for both teams. BA has played in

a number of large venues over the last couple of years. However, Memorial

is a bit unique in its layout and I would not be surprised to see both teams

struggle a bit from outside.

 

I hate to see BA give up a home game but never let it be said that we aren't

accomodating hosts. The BA gym holds just over 1000 and Giles County will

most likely bring that many of their own fans. I would not be surprised to

see 3,000 to 4,000 people in attendance.

I don't like the move, but whatever. Home court advantage...gone. Gate money...gone.

 

Hope Giles brings more people than last year. They probably had less than 200 fans there at Belmont.

Build a new gym, then BA wouldnt have to move their big games. I know BA can raise funds through tuition, and athletic bootsers to get a new gym built.

Its currently in the works and is part of the new building campaign. If

I remember correctly, the new gym is part of phase 2.

It will be a great game, and I can't wait for 'Round 4' as GCHS05 said. This is going to be a PHENOMENAL GAME! Giles County needs to win this game and show all the people of Nashville just what Bobcat Basketball is all about.

Probably not many. Attendance has been down for some reason this year.

BA played at Vandy when Harrison was there about 5 years ago. It was at Christmas time. I believe it was against Columbia while David Colley was coach there.

That will be a great chance for Wright and Smith to show out on a real big stage. That's awesome that Vandy is allowing them to play there. Tyler will have a good game there with at least 3 or 4 hopefully to come while at UT.
