Bradford has been a powerhouse in girls basketball for the past 20 years and the last few years, they've been way out of the picture...even with the Miss Basketball they had last year, they still were not that good. What has happened to the Lady Red Devils and will things get turned around? Doesn't the school or county care that the programm has sunk so low? I noticed that they have only won 2 games this year...how could things get so bad so fast?

The Bradford Lady Red Devils are a very young team. They start two seniors (Lori Rinks & Kristen Neal) and have one other senior (Isha Street) coming off the bench. But, the other starters and subs are freshmen (Jenny Crocker, Summer Spain, Candace Knott) and 8th graders (Briana Tubbs, Challice Vestal).

Bradford has also been hit hard by injuries this season. In fact, Danielle Proudfit - who is going to be a good one - was injured over the Christmas break and is out for the season.

2004-2005 will be looked at as a season of tough luck for the Lady Red Devils.

They play hard every game for new coach Shane Pascall.

There is no way they can expect to have another run like they did. You might not have that much talent in 100 years. The Henson sisters, Tonya tuggles, Michelle Street, Tameka Brown, etc. I mean c'mon those are some unreal players for any school much less a school that small. Sometimes the talent runs out.

At least Russell had some class about him when he was there. John Wild had none. In a district tournament game one time (the one and only year they let them have the tournament at Bradford for whatever reason), he was up by 50 in the third quarter, still had his starters in, and was still pressing. He changed his mind on that real quick when Jessica Henson got knocked clear to the wall on a fast-break layup attempt.

David Russell left to go to gibson county and hes not there to build anymore miss basketballs. I dont see that program gettin back up to what it was, however im all for bradford. I wish it would  :)  Problems are thou  Kaitlin Dudley and David Russell went to GC  meridith, jenny landom, and henson sisters all graduated.

Good Luck to Bradford thou thumb

You may want to think about the facts surrounding why Russell left

when considering class?? You may also want to realize he may have

needed to leave his kids in to prepare them for the tournaments. I think

that year they beat most opponents by 30+. If he pulled them out every

game, they would have no conditioning. But I would guess you would

know it all. Make sure to only talk about 1 situation in a series of a

two year period........ Very classy yourself......

Coach Russell and Phil Jackson have a lot in common. It is not too hard to win when you have the best players all the time. Bradford has seen more stars come through their program than probably any other school in West Tennessee in recent years.

McNairy's Jerry Lott has never had a Miss Basketball finalist and no Div. 1 player in 25 years, but he keeps winning. You give him equal talent and his team would beat any other team in West Tennessee. He is that good.

Yeah, winning 5 gold balls and a few silver ones makes for a average coach.

The success Russell had at Bradford was a combination of talented players and a very talented coach.

As to whom is coaching the Lady Red Devils now? - Shane Pascall.
