ydet
the middle will be most likely be dominated by MBA. bga lost too many players to be a threat. usn is always a good dark horse threat cause they are well coached. dont know too much bout BA; someone could fill me in. ydet
yeah, the DII middle region should be good to watch all season. from the looks of things it might be close.
thetotaltruth
DII middle will be one of the best regions to watch this year because at this point there is not team that is head and shoulders above the rest. It appears Fr. Ryan is near the top but then the next two spots for the state tourney will be tough to come by. MBA will be strong on defense and tough to beat, JP2 will be good enough on both sides of the ball just hopefully the goaltender problem doesn't hinder their improvement, BGA will be interesting seeing how many starters they lost from last year's team, USN might have run out of luck, and BA is a big question mark. So there will be between 4-6 teams who will all have a shot this year and it will be fun to watch, hopefully all the close competition will help down the stretch this year and in the state tourney for the three teams that are able to make state from this region. This year will be fun to watch for sure.
JanetLaws
the middle will be most likely be dominated by MBA. bga lost too many players to be a threat. usn is always a good dark horse threat cause they are well coached. dont know too much bout BA; someone could fill me in. 825569283[/snapback] BA returns 9 starters, losing Hunter Palmer and Chris Pepper in midfield. They also lost Scottie Reall, probally their best goal scorer, but he was pretty much a non factor sitting out most of the season with a back injury. They return everything they had in the back including keeper Corbin Walker. Forwards are Senior David Varn, Junior Will Vaughn and Sophomore Ryan Loftin, these 3 should all contribute up top. Philip Masters is a key returner in the midfield starting last year most every game at center mid as a sophomore. The back returns Chris Rowe, Pat Kennedy, Connor Kennedy and Cam Day, also they add Chris Cate who should be a solid contributor in the back as well, possibly earning a starting spot. Should be interesting, to see how they play, they have talent it's just a matter of weather they come to play or not. Anyone else who knows more about BA could fill me in with how they think they might be this year. I think that the Middle will be dominated by Ryan with MBA, USN, BA, JP2 and BGA all battling for the 2nd and 3rd spots in the state tournament. As far as BA, this looks to be one of the best shots they have had in a while to make the state tourny(mainly due to the middle region being somewhat down this year). Best of luck to all, should be an exciting year in the middle.
natural spring water
Just wanted to bump this to the front lets hear more about D2
bluesoccer
Sounds like McCallie might want to reconsider fielding a team this year. I wonder if it's too late for the guys to sign up for lacrosse?
PSAFOUR
Wow. You have been misinformed. look for McCallie to do very well this year. Defense is the only question. Losing Catanese and Davy Pollock will hurt, but they have solid players who should step up. Offensively they will be fine. Patrick Johnson is one of the best in d2 and Joel and Nouri should be much improved from their freshman year. Jamie Stone is the x-factor, b/c he has the talent, if he steps up they could definately make some noise. Crabby will be good in goal. McCallie might be slightly worse than last year, but I stress the word slightly.
natural spring water
just moving this to the front, lets get some talk going on it, is what janet posted bogus? or can BA really contend, what do people think?
sivart
What are some of the scrimmage results from these DII teams? I atleast know that JP2 lost to McCallie 3-1 and lost to Baylor 4-1. Even though scrimmages mean very little, any more input on some actual results would be great.
ah20
What about Catholic? How are they looking this year?
natural spring water
BA beat Smryna 3-2 today in a game that was much more lopsided than the score indicates. BA played sloppy, but still handled smyrna. Smyrnas keeper needs to write a thank you note to the BA forwards because they kept this game close for him.
