HUGE game tomorrow with conference rival Sullivan North at home. North is currently in 1st place and undefeated in conference play. Last time we played they squeeked by us 3-1 but hopefully this time will be a little different with us on the winning side. Rob will probly be on the hill and everytime he pitches we have a good shot at winning so it should be a good game not sure who they will throw probably hinkle or hanson. But hope to see a good crowd tomorrow night at 7 we need all the support we can get.

Lol, I'm a Volunteer alumni. The comment about the swimming pool was an old joke with some buddies of mine. There used to be something about the Hawkins County School Boards had a choice between putting a swimming pool in Volunteer, or building Cherokee High School. Of course, that rumor was about as true as the idea of selling elevator passes to the freshmen.

Against a team like North.........when you have runners on you got to not leave them and get the runs in........we did that to many innings.............Go Falcons.

That's been the story of the season. When they got the key hits, they won, when they didn't , they lost. One or two errors a game hasn't killed us, its been the lack of hitting in key situations.

Baseball's a simple game, ain't it?

Amen Backer, I know of 5 or 6 runners we left in scoring position. I don't think any of the errors were a big factor. Bottom line we scored a big goose egg, so 1 run was enough. As much as I hate to, you have to give the Raiders credit. They appear to be THE team in the Watauga. Just got back from watching them wax Betsy at Hunter Wright 10-0 in 6 innings. They just keep hitting and making the plays. Maybe someone will knock them off come Tourney time.

Now it's time to get ready for the Wash. Co. tourney and try to break the school record for wins. We still have a chance to do that but we are going to have to score some runs.

PS FalconBacker just want to thank you again for helping on the field these last severals days and all the other times you've been there working your tail off. Reminded me of the old Surgoinsville days, fighting rains, horseshows, Ruritans and City Recs just so our kids could play some competitive baseball. It's been well worth it. Thanks!

I just realized something about REO Speedwagon...a couple of their members look like some of my teammates with longer hair...lol

Great job on a big win tonight Falcons...go ahead and break that record and then some...remember to take one game at a time, and remember that each game is a big game...

    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
