As I've said on a previous post,

Lynn Burkey for president!!

Megon Lyons for Vice!!

Burkey doesn't have time to be Prez with AAU and Junior Olympics and NIKE Camp. Oh yeah and winning a gold ball. Megan is a bit too busy too. After she wins this little ol' tourney she has pentathalon followed by her other track events... hurdles and high jump. After that and a Nobel prize and perhaps the pillsbury bake-off she might have time to advise the prez on foreign policy or volleyball. Then its off to Tennessee Tech to save the world.

I don't think Megan Lyons should be looking ahead to the gold ball round. Dyersburg is very, very athletic and very, very BIG. If they do beat Dyersburg, and I say if, they still have to beat top 10 nationally ranked Mt. Juliet. So please be serious and let your girls play do the talking. thumb

Dyersburg[/url]fanatic' date='Mar 8 2005 - 07:58 PM']From what I am hearing about "Megan Lyons" is that she must really be something I can't wait till' Thursday night to see if this is true or all of yall are making her VERY overrated

To me it sounds like she's overrated. If she is so good and going to all these camps and all these things how is she only going to tennessee tech? They make her sound like she's going to start on Tenn. or LSU next year.

Everybody on this board agrees that Alysha Clark is probably the best player in the state this year. She is a great high school player. SHE'S ONLY GOING TO BELMONT. You can be a great high school player and just not have the body type to go to a really big school. This is the case with Lyons cause she is only 5'5. That's also the case with Clark cause she's to short to play down low for a major school in college.

i just wonder how lyons compares to Bullard (miss basketball finalist and a D1 bound) and sha brooks and amber penn (also d1 bound)... all of which dyersburg did a very good job of playing defense on....

if lyons is better than those three, then i look for her to break the single game state scoring record for a AAA team ......

by the way, can any of you on this board tell me who owns that record and how many points and what school she played at?

here is a hint....she played for georgia in college

Too easy MG, and a homer call at that. Sherelle Warren, Dyersburg High School.

that is right class, it was warren from DYERSBURG....and that score was, i think 48 against cocke county in 1984 (not sure, may be wrong)...

but anywho, my point is that a lyons type of player is not uncommon down here in west tennessee...

lets see, this year, we have faced, let me count them, i think 3 or 4 d1 prop basketball players, with 2 on one team...

good luck lady trojans......do what you have done all year....play your hearts out and PLAY as a TEAM........

    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
    • Dorian Eskridge had a great Junior year, highlighted by a great game to lead HVA to an upset win at OR that year. I think that was 2010. In 2011 OR won at HVA. OR had a real good QB that year l think. Dorian Eskridge had a great senior year also. He always played hard from the DCM videos l saw.
    • It seems we lost a ton to graduation. We shall see how it shapes up for 2024.
