Knoxforce
BHS Basketball will be young this season but does have several bright points. Quez Fiar will be leading the dogs at point very quick very sound on defensive side of the ball. Very solid post players not over powering but will out work a lot in the district. Another bright spot is the incoming freshman with a tone of talent. One who has surprised a lot of people should see a lot of playing time. Though they are young this team could have a very good season and if the freshman can take hold of Blevins offence and learn from the older players and contribute this should be a solid team. Why did Bearden cancel their series with Catholic? The Irish will have 7 sophomores and a freshman on their varsity team, so they are younger then Bearden. It's a shame they won't be playing. Catholic has decided to not let Bearden play in the Freshman tournament as a result. Bearden had played in the Fighting Irish Shoot-Out for 13 straight years. I hate to see this series end. Tenntwin
Didn't many of those Sophomores come through Bearden Middle School? Might be a "sore spot" there. #outsidelookingin

QSouth89
Didn't many of those Sophomores come through Bearden Middle School? Might be a "sore spot" there. #outsidelookinginNo. Catholic has 2 sophomores who went to BMS, Dawson Anderson and Tony Scott. Both of their dads are long time coaches at Catholic (Anderson's dad has coached football for 8 years and Scott's dad has coached basketball at Catholic for 12 years). So the odds of either of them going to Bearden was slim to none. Tony Scott isn't even zoned for Bearden anyway. His zone school is HVA. He was at BMS on a transfer. Tenntwin
That makes sense with the Dad's being coaches at Catholic. I've been watching a lot of those kids at Catholic play Middle School and AAU ball over the years. I'm not up on the upperclassmen, but the collection of talent in the freshmen and sophomore classes is outstanding especially in football - great players and good kids too. I'm actually hoping to watch a Catholic football game this year and check out some of the young ones.
HOOPSGURU
Basketball talent in those two classes isn't too shabby either.
QSouth89
Can anyone in 4AAA explain to me how Heritage keeps coming up with these foreign players? This is the third year in a row. Now they have a 6'7 kid from Germany playing in the Rocky Top.
CarolinaCrazy
If coach Duncan is still there, that's ur answer. He's done this for years. Even did it at Scott county.
