Rhea has to win this game to win region, correct?

Yes. If we lose, and Ooltewah beats Walker Valley, there would be a three way tie at the top (Rhea loses to McMinn, McMinn to Ooltewah, and Ooltewah to Rhea). If both Rhea and Ooltewah win, they would be #1 and #2 respectively. If Rhea wins, but Ooltewah loses, it would be #1 Rhea with a tie for 2nd (Ooltewah 4-2 with losses to Rhea and Walker, McMinn 4-2 with losses to Rhea and Ooltewah, Walker Valley with losses to Rhea and McMinn). If Ooltewah and Rhea both lose, it would be #1 McMinn, #2 Rhea, #3 Walker Valley, and #4 Ooltewah

If Rhea wins and Owls lose to WV the 3 way tie you mention gives WV second place on points scored. That's what I was told tonite.

Tie Breaker Procedures:

C. If at any point when the following tie-breaking procedures are applied, one team has beaten all the other teams
that are tied for a play-off position, that team shall be rated above the others.
D. In the event of a tie for the region winner, runner-up, third-place, or fourth-place team, if either team(s) has
defeated the other(s) in regular-season play, the team(s) shall be rated above the other(s) in the standings. (After
the region winner has been determined, the tie-breaker procedure shall begin all over again starting at the top to
work out the runner-up position. The procedure shall be repeated to determine the third- and fourth-place teams.)

E. The following tie-breaking procedures shall be applied and all regular-season games, both region and non-region,
shall count (After each of the following steps have been applied, item C above shall be applied.):
1. The team with the greatest number of victories.
2. The team who plays the greatest number of teams who win 50 percent or more of their games.
3. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams winning 50 percent or more of their games.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
