  1. if by some miracle Stratford would win the 3A championship they would still finish the season with a losing record. That would have to be a first, possibly in any state.
  2. That tough schedule is finally paying off for Stratford.
  3. An old white man invented the game of basketball. So, is it consider cultural appropriation for non-whites to play basketball?
  4. I think that it's unfortunate for Stratford that they found their offense so late in the season. Had they found it around the time they play East Nashville they may had been able to finish second in the region, and delayed the inevitable. I just don't see them getting past Pearl-Cohn. But they might make better game of it this go around.
  5. Perhaps I'm not understanding the point you are trying to make here, MJUHB. Isn't the coach who is overseeing this year's playoff run also the same coach who oversaw the ten wins during the 14-17 seasons? Playville is asking for a coaching change. But for someone who knows nothing of Tullahoma you seem to be implying that this seasons's record is the result of a head coaching change. Are you saying that before it was just a lack of talent during those lean years. Or, were there changes among the assistant coaches?
  6. That may be true. I'm not too familiar with Kentucky schools.
  7. To be fair, I do not think there are many 5A & 6A schools within an hour of Macon County to schedule.
  8. I didn't explicitly state it, but I agree with your point. What I was trying to imply that with a average schedule the Spartans would have likely finished above .500.
  9. A list of the teams that Stratford played this season: CPA (10-0) DII AA #1 Seed Hillsboro (7-3) 5A R6 #1 seed Pearl Cohn (8-2) 3A R5 #1 Seed East Nashville (9-1) 3A R5 #2 Seed Maplewood (9-1) 4A #1 Seed Rossview (6-4) 6A R4 #4 Seed Giles County (1-9)7-3 without DQ Father Ryan (2-8) NW Clarksville Whites Creek Their only wins were against Clarksville Northwest and Whites Creek. They almost beast Giles County. But that was after Bobcats were eliminated from any chance of the playoffs the previous week.
  10. LoveForTheGame-- Stratford (2-8) just beat Camden (6-4) in the first round of the payoffs. Do you think that your example, White House (6-4), would have been able to to that?
  11. I think what you want is for your team to make the playoffs. And if that means being under the Z-Plan and scheduling cream puffs to inflate wins, then so be it.
  12. Are you actually using White House as an example of a team that should be in the playoffs? Surely you are basing that opinion solely on Win-Loss record alone, and not the quality of the schedule. In fact, I put it to you that if White House and Stratford were to swap schedules you'd see very similar outcomes. Moreover, I wouldn't be surprise for Stratford to win in a head-to-head versus White House.
  13. Portland and White House is only big to Portland and White House. That game hasn't been big in the Nashville area for a decade. I never mentioned speed. I agree that good coaching is a prime ingredient. If speed was all this is necessary Memphis teams would be winning every championships. And Whites Creek would have a top team every year in Metro Nashville. There is some good football on the Cumberland Plateau. There is just not currently an abundance of it in Region 3 Class 4A.
  14. Two out if three wins were against your Region 3 buddy. I'm not sure why you're bringing Upperman into the discussion . Neither Macon County (nor any other Region 3 4A team) fared well against the Bees. Perhaps their dominance goes to further prove how down Region 3 4A is. Also, one team's dominance doesn't necessarily translate to others in the area. If that were true William Blount would at least have winnings seasons.
  15. Are you willing to put a chipmunk on the line to back your prediction?
  16. I felt the same way at the beginning of the season. But at this point I think Stone Memorial has a chance, although I still like Marshall County to win.
  17. If Hillwood can somehow find a defense by next Friday, it will be a game. Hillwood can score when given an opportunity.
  18. I'm almost disappointed that the chipmunks are safe.
  19. I wonder if there are any players on Whites Creek who would rather not play next Friday and just let this season end.
  20. I see that Stone Memorial had the last laugh on me, and William Blount.
  21. I believe Hillwood is also a lock for the postseason due to being in the same region as Hunters Lane and Glencliff.
  22. While it’s great to win the final regular season game. It’s much better to win the final game of the season. In the grand scheme of things the top four teams are guaranteed spots in the playoffs. And regardless of who wins or losses any region games ( Spring Hill / Lawrence County included) the seedlings won’t change all that much. Next Friday’s game, not this Friday’s, is the one that matters more.
