  1. Will be tuned in to Packervision Thursday to see if the Year of the Dragon rolls on. But I am afraid Powell wins up front and that may be the ball game.
  2. I heard HVA gave up two scoop and score fumbles that made this one 31-0 and a lot worse than it was. Sounded like Halls was better on the lines too. HVA now heads into a murderers row with Bearden first,
  3. Powell’s strength this year is running the football behind a big physical offensive line, they can move the chains and keep your offense off the field. On defense, with Soles they can bring a lot of pressure on your quarterback. This will be a big hurdle to keep the Year of the Dragon going.
  4. Looks like a good ball game to see. West is talented and young too, they have pulled off some big wins in close games with Bearden and Farragut, Maryville is down but not out, they still have the organization and discipline they always have, the loss of LaDue impacts their running game until they can get another back settled in, meanwhile they have to be able to throw the ball too. I look for this one to be low scoring with the Maryville defense and special teams giving them enough edge to pull out a home win, 21-14,
  5. I think Farragut bounces back from the tough loss to West. They have a pretty good passing game that makes them capable of scoring, Cleveland came out strong and smoked the Dragons early only to have the Dragons put up a lot of points late. I think the Wine and Cheese will be flowing in Fox Den, Farragut 35-21
  6. Dragons have the edge in athletes and speed, the Cougars the edge in scheme and play calling. Should be interesting up there on top of the hill in Lafollette. Will the Year of the Dragon continue after the thumping of Scott County or will it be a repeat of last year? Dragons 26-21
  7. Thsi should be a dandy game, up in the land of the Green Devils. Packervision will be there and it will be a great night for Greeneville football, but I think Alcoa has too many athletes and that will be the difference 31-24.

  9. Things get a little tougher for Coach Miner's boys as they play Halls this week, but a good chance for the Hawks to start 4-0.
  10. Year of the Dragon back on track after blowout win at Scott Co., Coogs seem a little down this year, notch up a Dragon win 30-14
  11. It’s really tough when a team comes off a big year and losing a lot of great players. A lot of times the next year is a struggle and add to that AC has played a real hard schedule so far. Seems like to me that they could be the type of team that does really well the second half of the schedule. Getting some injured guys back like Moog will help too. Elizabethton will be tough and the Dragons await.
  12. Maybe a bigger game for Jeff than DB as they need a win to stay in the race for the Region. DB has to use their skill to get Jeff behind and force them to throw more than they want to. I’ll take the Indians in a close one 21-14
  13. Karns lost the farm from last year, Bishop, Tarwater and others, also Coach Taylor, who brought success to Karns. OR should win big, and I hope they remember the loss two years ago on Beaver Creek.
  14. Coach Miner's boys aren't getting any press on the CoachT, so I will start one up for them. Hawks should get the win over the Fighting Cocks tomorrow night to go the 3-0 on the season. Like the double wing offense, gives the Hawks a chance,
  15. Like to see Jeff get the win at Spurrier Field, Science Hill has some good athletes that showed up last week in a big win at AC. I will go with the Hilltoppers, but I would like to see Jeff win, 28-14 Toppers
  16. Thanks, Powell is still good but not the Powell of years past, Hope to see AC get back on track at Bearden,
  17. Really tough trip for the Rebels. AC friends told me they scrimmaged Bradley and were impressed. Losing the running back may make the Rebels try to throw the ball more, not really an upset if Bradley wins, and I think they do 21-14
  18. Indians get back in the win column against the Sullivan County newbie. 35-10
  19. AC let a big one get away vs Science Hill. Another tough one with Bearden, both teams looking for their first win in tough schedules, If the Mavs can clean up some defensive mistakes that they had against the Hilltoppers, they might pull an upset on the Bulldogs.
  20. Will the Year of the Dragon get back on track at Scott County? I think so, Dragon speed will prevail. 28-7
  21. I'll take West, good defense and the offense is coming around, 21-17 West.
  22. Definitely strange....at Karns, at McMinn, at Clinton, at Knox Central, at Farragut...
  23. That was really some game!! I really like how Coach Rang schemes the offense, he stretches the defense, makes them cover everybody and moves defenders around. Powell sure misses Potts and Company, they are pretty run oriented now. They had a good game plan to run the ball and shorten the game and it worked in the first half. The Powell offensive line is really good at protection and run blocking, those guys are hard to get by. WIldcats start a 5 game road trip now. Won't see Blankenship until the end of October. Quality win. 't
  24. Hawks win big at Burke-Toney 36-10. Good start at 2-0. Thursday night game
  25. I haven't seen Farragut, but they pulled out a nice win against DB. Powell is big and chunky up front and can run the ball, they got a couple of breaks against AC and turned them into scores. Powell does miss last years receivers and quarterback, so I think they need to control the ball over at Fox Den and keep the Admiral offense off the field or the wine and cheese could flow after an upset win...........but I think Powell by 21-10
