  1. All I have heard is how rude the TC fans were and how dirty the players were. Didn't see ANY of either. Class act fans and well coached respectful players. #5 is a man among the boys and very well spoken. Congrats to the Warriors on a huge win, Refs did miss some but they were on both sides of the ball. Fwd lateral call was good, he was a good yd in front but heck of a play call. Both teams left it all on the field. Congratulations to both teams on a great game.
  2. The exact same could be said of SC without 22 and the kicker, Football is a TEAM sport with 22 players on the field every play. Last night MC offense and defense played harder, had fewer turnovers and wanted it more. Nothing against SC, they have lots of young talent and one of the best coaches who ever walked the sideline. If you give him another year or 2 he will bring the program to the next level. Good Job to both teams.
  3. I think Tim Moore would be an excellent choice. There is not enough money to entice Chris Jones, he is a powerhouse in the CFL now. I would like to see Chris in the UT job though. He is a winner in the CFL.
  4. The tradition of the train whistle goes back a lot farther than 6 or 7 years. Marion County first had one 30 years ago and it still lives on today.
  5. Wes Green????? REALLY, MC needs a leader and motivator, not a mediocre run of the mill coach. There are a lot of them out there.
  6. Calm down folks, the head coaching job is OPEN for applications. Nobody is in line for the job, the AD is taking applications. KC is not coming back as head coach, and it hasn't been promised to anyone. The AD is a very competent and capable man and he will hire the best man for the job, have faith in him....The only real issue I forsee is what proven and knowledgable Head Coach would take such a risk on coming into a community who eats football coaches like Jasper does. I hope he has several highly qualified applicants and has a tough choice, heck I would be tickled to death with just one highly qualified candidate. I hope it is someone from outside the county and not a part of the MC good ole boy network. I also want to thank Troy Boeck for his hard work and dedication to the MCHS program and facilities. He is a fine man and coach and will be greatly missed.
  7. TSSAA website says 16. The question now is can she pitch with this intensity for 3 more games. If she does it is bad news for everyone else. TC really struggled last night. Looking forward to more great games tonight.
  8. Whoever Lindsey is she better bring her A+ game because Lacy Walker is the real deal, you won't hit her and you for sure won't put her 0-4 unless you hit her 4 times. DO NOT TAKE GRACE LIGHTLY or it will be a LONG 150 miles back home. Best of luck to all teams.
  9. I hope your kidding, FC is not anywhere close to the same league as SM. If by some odd chance FC pulls one off it will be because SM beats themselves. SM is bigger, faster, stronger and better coached, but FC does serve a mean burger and beef stew at their games. SM is the real deal but a 4A school playing in a 2A division should be a powerhouse.
  10. I think it will be worse than that, I say Signal by 28-30 at least, Coach Price won't call off the dogs friday night. And FC did not play the smash mouth football tonight somebody will have to play to beat SM. But man FC has good hamburgers. Signal 48- FC 20.
  11. OP the chances of the whistle blower jumping the fence and blowing it for SP are just about as good as getting Obama to live up to any of his campaign promises. Ain't gonna happen. See ya friday night.
  12. Captain Jack was a horrible choice of name for you... Mr.Crabs.... If you think Mr Crabs is Captain Jack you are KORNFUZED my friend.
  13. One was checked out and released, one was released Sat AM the other two are still in as of 3PM sat, but are doing OK and should be out soon. I saw the cat today and it is a miracle the two in the back seat survived, the trunk now stops at the back of the fromt seats. Continue to pray for them and thank the Good Lord they are still with us.
  14. Word I am getting from thr ER is that the 2 hurt bad will be OK. Please keep them in your prayers.
  15. The TSSAA is a joke, they don't give a crap about what's best for high school athletics, they are just trying to bring in more money to pay their overinflated salaries, they will be trying to cut into pee-wee football and baseball next and your 4 year old won't be able to play catch in the front yard with dad during "blackout" times. The caliber of officials we are getting at games now are a direct reflection of their lack of give a care. We would have been better off if Brentwood had bankrupted them during their long going saga of a few years ago.

    District 6 AA

Congratulations to both teams, 6AA will be well represented for the rest of the tournament. Marion, way to go purple, gotta stay focused till the end, Satch, way to come back, You boys done all of Marion County proud tonight, keep rollin, maybe we'll take the whistle to Murfreesboro.
  17. Congratulations Speed Pittsburg, You went out there and played like men on a mission, 5 offensive plays and it was 14-0. McKenzie, hold your head up, you were dominated all night but you never gave up. The job did get finished tonight and it was the men in orange and black who finished it. One thing SP had over the Rebels was DRIVE they were playing to win this one for the legendary Don Grider, and I know DG was looking down from above tonight and grinning from ear to ear. Good Job Pirates, you reached your goal, and you did it in style. I'll take speed over size any day. After tonight EVERYONE knows who the best Class A team in Tennessee is, The South Pittsburg Pirates.
  18. Noticed Clean Gene Fuller talking to Coach Boeck this week. could he be putting his name in the hat? we would definately be a single wing/Power I/ 2-1-2 defense team. maybe he is tired of making all that money working for TVA and wants a job with some substance to it. :>) I hope whoever gets the job will have the full support from the entire community. That is the only way we will get our program back on track. Go Big Purple!!!!!
  19. How about Nick Saban? He might be on the market soon, if he is willing to take a little bit of a pay cut in order to live here in the beautiful Sequatchie Valley. And at the SP game I believe I saw Landon Pickett on the 40, is that who you were talking about? I just hope we get someone soon.
  20. Right decision, wrong decision, it's a mute point now, the decision has been made and the next step is to find the new coach and get the program moving forward again. Jason is one he$# of a guy and once these wounds heal they become battlescars of a seasoned coach. Ask the man KC himself, he will tell you he screwed up a perfectly good football team his first year as a head coach, but he learned from his mistakes and now he is a living legend in the world of HS football. The administration as a whole needs to look at the overall athletic program, We have both BBall coaches in their second year and a baseball coach starting his 4th year. Looks like we eat our young at MC. It takes time to rebuild programs and you don't fix everything at once. The middle school program is on it's toe and that is the HS feeder system. The stadium and field house needs repairs, takes time and money. When you don't have good home attendance you don't generate the revenue you need to keep on top of these things. I wish Coach Boeck the best of luck in his quest for finding Jason's successor, it will take a special person to weather the BS from fans, parents and community, to stick around long enough to get the program turned around. And for not a lot of money either. Good Luck Jason, I hope to see you on the sidelines somewhere next year.
  21. It ended up 72-61 but MC actually led briefly late in the 3rd qtr. It was a great game, great officiating, FCHS has an awesome facility and a great program. MC started off slow in the 1st qtr but got in their rhythm and made a good game of it. Henager had around 20 pts,Zeph Guyear had around the same amount. The Warriors will get better, just take a game or 2 to dust out the cobwebs and let the football players get their BBall hands.
  22. yeah i heard that kid isn't very good. Heres what I think. Howard and CCS 1 and 2 in any order 3. East Ridge 4. Notre Dame then everyone else Which kid were you refering to? Guyear is as good as any junior around here and the 6'8" kid has come a long way since last year. He is older, smarter and stronger, and I expect him to be a major force to be dealt with. MCHS is going to be a team not to be overlooked, will be better than last year if we stay healthy. I agree with your 1-2 but heard a rumor that Jurick moved, if this is true, I don't think East Ridge will be nearly as good as last year. Good Luck to everyone this season!!
  23. OK, here's my 2 cents worth, 24 is as good of a kid as there is anywhere in the valley. He has heart, talent, and most of all he works his a** off on the field. He will be a vital part of the 2008 MCHS football machine if he comes back. If he wants to transfer to play with someone else, I wish him the best. Few people on this board know what his situation is and why he might want to leave, myself included. This is a free country and if he can legally maintain his eligibility and play where he will be happier, then "vaya con Dios"(go with God) for you no comprehende. There aren't a lot of kids out there as well rounded as him and he will make a difference wherever he plays. It will be just as decimating to baseball, he is one he^^ of a baseball player. As for the whistle, as I said before, where the Warriors go, the whistle goes, and it will be back in Jamestown next year. The whistle has been the pride and joy of the Warriors for almost 30 years, since Berton Cagle gave it to us in the early 80's. Ronnie Carter and the TSSAA know all about it, it was at every state championship we have been to(6)(won 4). I still want to see where in the rules it prohibits it, we haven't got any penalties for it this year. The only reason it didn't blow in the 2nd half was because we didn't score, York's defense silenced it not the York welcome committee. We would have gladly let them bring their fire breathing dragon into the stadium if they had brought it. York is a very well disciplined and coached team, but I don't see them making it past an ALCOA, or Goodpasture caliber team, but I have been wrong many times in life, and will probably be many more again. All MCHS fans have faith, we will get better, but we have to be a united front, from the top to the bottom, harmony is the stregnth and backbone of all well organized programs. I'm done, football is over, time to shift over to basketball, see you on that board next. Till next year folks, enjoyed it,BYE!!!
  24. hey that purple whistle wont be alloud this year in the playoffs cause of somethin i read and what people are sayin marion aint never been up on that moutian....so get ready for some hard feaild in yuns face ....GO DRAGON!!!!!!! Having a hard time deciphering what you are trying to say but there is one thing for sure "Where the Warriors go, The Whistle goes as well". It WILL be attached to the back of my truck, and I hope the boys play well so the fine people of Jamestown can learn to appreciate the melodious cry it makes. The bottom line on this game in my humble opinion comes down to who wants it more, ask the boys of the Juggernaut team from Brentwood who didn't think the hillbillies from Jasper deserved to be on the same field with them in the early 90's, they are capable of winning. A team like this years Warriors are a dangerous lot, they have nothing to lose and everything to prove and have enough talent to win IF they play to the best of their ability for 4 quarters. Anything less and York will probably come out on top. York is a talented, well coached and disciplined team, but far from unbeatable. Good luck to both sides, and can anyone recommend a good place to eat in Jamestown? Planning on leaving early to enjoy some of the beautiful Fentress County scenery, and hopefully food as well.
  25. Looking forward to a great game Friday night, I hope both sides are healthy. The Warriors have had brief flashes of greatness but have only played 4 quarters of good hard football one game IMHO. I hope they do some soul searching this week and take the long ride to Jamestown as a chance to get their minds right and play a complete game. York is not 10-0 for nothing, i don't think either team was at 100% at week 9. Can anyone recommend a good place to eat in Jamestown?
