I love Bradleys man offense, and would love to adopt it for our girls. We know better than this . i would like to know if we could have kept things closer trying a zone, but you know...........

McMinn Central, Alcoa, and Gatlinburg Pittman MCentral- Tough schedule, lost to Powell on a horrible shooting night by 3, and destroyed by Bradley twice. Alcoa - Don't let losses fool you, this is a solid team. Young too. They have a couple that will be joining the team in Feb. that will bring them to the next level. MCentral has beaten them twice, but both have been pretty good games. Gatlingburg Pittman- I have no clue about them other than they must have some really good young talent. McMinn Central lost to them by 4 at home when these Central girls were freshman 3 years ago, 3 of these now seniors played the majority of that game.

Just out of curiousity, did Catholic zone them defensively.

No, Central is good. GP is a bit of a surprise. Alcoa is better than most think.

On this side, if Im not mistaken, McMinn Cerntral, Alcoa, and Gatlinburg Pittman will knock at least one out in sub-state. These are, in my opinion, the best here. McMinn Central is not playing their best ball right now, but beating decent teams.

Central will play Bradley tougher next go around. Wish Cleveland was on the schedule as well.

Good win for Meigs. Did they man up all night?

Alcoa is a wonderful place to play. Loudon would have been mercy ruled by Alcoa and I think they have played them enough to understand that. Giles has enough speed at running back for Alcoa to be out of position and give up a big one or two. With this I see 42 - 14. This is one of the better Alcoa teams, in my opinion, then the last few years.

Shot the ball horribly and their length gave us trouble. 12 point game at half. I was surprised as well, but sometimes you just have those tough shooting nights. Kinda the same thing happened last year playing Meigs. I suspect it will be a different game at Central. Don’t get me wrong. I feel Bradley will be in Murfreesboro this year, the are solid.

With a couple of games under everyone’s belt, what are some thoughts?

Alcoa is a solid team. Central is fortunate to get the win. Both teams are going to be a handful.

Loudon has struggled stopping the run , but can load up the box somewhat to stop the GC speed and power game based on GC passing game. Loudon can score, the question is, can they out score GC. If Loudon can win the turnovers, they can stay in striking distance. I like GC in this one, but this could be a potential upset if GC does not come to play. I say GC by 14.

I have followed some of the Summertown vs. Loretto games the past few years. Good basketball in those areas.

Why are you assuming Alcoa doesn’t have speed?

You know I’m an ol Central boy. I tend to root for our more local boys. Good luck Yeti. Wish there was a way I could watch this one.

I feel Meigs can win if the can they can avoid the big play. I think they can control the line of scrimmage, but watching TC last week, they have big play ability with good athletes.

After seeing a little bit from lasts night jamboree, has anyone seen a different take? I still think Central is the team on top, but after last night it is a toss up to me. Thoughts?
