  2. Just a rumor! It was some wishful thinking, since the other side of the river is in such a panic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I don't think that you will find where I posted anywhere on this thread or the last thread until my last 2 posts. I know we lost. I have stated that twice. We got beat by a better team. We will start preparing for next year. All of your actions will come back and bite you. You have beaten us a total of about 5 times in 30 years. You were due. I hope that you learn how to win with class. I am religious, and I am not disrespectful. Therefore, I will keep the rest of my opinions to myself. kpvols16-I have every right to my opinion and will type it where I want. You don't have to read it or respond to it.
  4. Sounds to me like you are a player. You need to be worrying about DCA. Trash talking is part of football. SC does their fair share. I am not talking about trash talking. I am talking about foul mouths. If you say that type of talk is not allowed, then I want to know what was done about it Friday. I was there. I heard it. Most of your players did come out to the goalline. Most stayed the entire time. They went in when SC finished praying. I am done argue this point. If our football team had to act like that to win, then I would rather lose. I know that you will say that you did lose. That is right, twice. Our program will bounce back. You win some and you lose some, but you do it with class.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will now take your advice, and shut my mouth. Just take some of mine and stop looking through those purple colored glasses.
  5. You people don't understand. The SC players do not hit and slap the goalposts as you have said. They tap and pat it. If you want to call that disrespect good. I think that they were just looking for a way to try and intimidate SC. Imallin said that we would pray around the same goalpost, and York decided against it. I have no problems with it. I think it is funny. I did have problems with the fact that after the SC coaches turned their kids around that the York coaches let their kids stand their and cuss the SC kids while they were gathered in the middle of the field. The SC kids did say things, but were instructed to turn around, and did just that. I am sure that on their way toward the goalpost that things were said and jestured. I was too far away at that point. I saw the SC coach turn them around pretty quickly. I was close enough to hear everything that was said by The YORK TEAM during SC's prayer. I have heard better from sailors. It is over. You won. You are still playing, and I am watching. I just hope that for your schools sake, that the people in charge, take charge. The ones that were there on Friday standing beside the football team during SC's prayer did nothing. That is just my opinion. You play a great brand of football!!!! I was just ashamed of their mouths. I am not saying that SC is perfect. I have heard somethings come out of our players mouths before, but I have also witnessed SC Coaches jerking knots in them. This is the way it is supposed to be. That is why I am proud to support SC Athletics. If you guys still see it another way, then I am sorry. I will see ya Friday, represent Region 4-2A WITH CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Good Luck!
  6. First of all I would like to tell the Smith County High School Seniors, that I am proud of them! If they work as hard at life as they did between those painted lines then they will go far in life. I would like to say congrats to York! You proved that you had the better team. I have been watching SC Football for some part of 30 years. I have witness them walk from one end of every field and to the other end of the field and pray at every game, scrimmage, or passing league that I have been able to attend. I haven't missed many in 30 years. I am there when the buses arrive, and am one of the last to leave. What I saw last night left me speechless, mad, and proud to be a supporter of the kids of SCHS. I would like to say I was there in September when the Owls walked the field. It was done no different than any other time or place. Some of the players do tap up and down the goalposts. They do it everywhere. Someone did it in the past and it has been passed down. I am sorry that York took it as a slight. I am sure that no SCHS Football player (without being disciplined by the coaches) would ever do anything to disrespect the York Football Program. I think that the prayer was taken out of context. I will say that SC walked and touched the far goalpost the first time and prayed around the fieldhouse end. Some prayed in the middle of the field. Some didn't pray. Some prayed at both ends. It just depends on which player you are refering to, and his pregame ritual. The SC team was instructed to walk the field. They always are. Not in intimidation, but to let the players get used to the feel of the surface. If you ever played you will understand this. I think York has every right to defend its house as the sign said. I have no problem with that, but it needs to be done between the lines (which it was). The premeditated line up could have gotten ugly. The York coaches was there and I do think they should control their team. MHO! SC started to walk to that end and were instructed to go elsewhere. They did, with CLASS. They prayed as a team on the Y. Not to disrect York but to HONOR GOD. I was very upset when York's players were screaming explicits at the SC team during the prayer. YORK-you have a wonderful football team. Don't ruin it by trying to be a bunch of billy bass IF YOU CAN'T SPELL IT OUT...PROBABLY SHOULDN'T USE IT. You can do that with your helmets. York coaches-you do a good job w/ football, but teach those boys some respect. You proved your point, but you let it go too far. I wish we could all get this excited about prayer all the time, and everything would be ok. It takes a football game to bring up the subject. I wish we could all get this excied about what is really important. I hope all these young men realize the importance of prayer whether it is around a goalpost, on the Y, on the SC. People get a grip. It is a football game. These are young men who would do anything for those colors and those coaches. I am glad that at SC we have coaches who leading our men in the right direction. I do not know any of the York coaches, but I pray that they do the same. In closing-I witnessed a good game. I hope York does well, it only makes SC look better. I will support SC win, lose, or draw. If you still have a problem with the SC prayer, I pray for you. If you don't, may God bless you.
  7. Brandon got moved from the trama unit late last night or this morning. He was in good spirits yesterday. He is very, very sore. His family would like to thank everyone for the prayers. Robjim I think he is now on the 9th floor???????
  8. Matt has not missed any action. SC has just chosen to rest him on offense some. He is a very good defensive end. Brandon is out for the season!!! Please pray for a speedy recovery.
  9. Brandon had surgery last night until about 10:30. The doctors found a tear between his large intestine and his small intestine. It was repaired. He will be in the hospital up to a week. I do not know any other details at this time. He is a great young man, and we all thank you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for him and his family. Thanks from SCHS.
  10. Jacob got recruited by several small schools. He opted to try and walk on at TTU. That is where he really wanted to play. He did not make the cut of walk-ons. He is going to school at TTU and is thinking about walking on for the baseball team. Jacob was a very talented high school football player!!!!!
  11. It is the responsibility of the home team to report the stats. It the outcome were different, then they would have been headlines. They were reported from the Jungle last week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. All that I know is that your sources may not always know the real stories. The gym floor has been in the works for years. Just getting the board to turn loose of the money was the trouble. The basketball boosters were told that there was no need to raise money for the floor because of the fact that it was already in the works. As far as the building it will be used by several different groups. I know that the gym has been overused. But I also know that when it is volleyball season, then they get first dibs, when it is basketball season, then they get first dibs. When it is the offseason, the there is a schedule. Yes the gym is crowded, but geneally there is no problem. Of course everyone see's there team as being the most important. This is the same as dealing with kids that play more than one sport. How do they workout, practice, or just rest. It is very complicated at small schools that all draw from the same spot. It always has been and always will be. If everyone works together then it runs smooth. If there is any jealousy or animosity then it is hard. I will say this, I guess that there wasn't a need for the indoor, but it will be used and be well taken care of. There was no need for the fieldhouse. It is only 11 years old and the football team has outgrown it. The weight room is used by the football team, cheerleaders, baseball team, softball team, boys and girls basketball. I can tell you that there is already several teams asking to use the indoor when school starts, and they will be able to use it if football is not using it. I would dare to say that football will be using it unless it is raining hard or lighting. This building will benefit any team that wants to use it. It will be complained about and made fun of by anybody that it does see the need for it. It is the nature of the beast. If nobody was talking about it, then it would not be important. I think that you will see that light if you still have that black and gold that you said you bleed. I know that right now you are looking through blue and white glasses. I completely understand that. As for your brother, I don't know if he has given any $ or not. But I will bet your bottom dollar, that he will tell you that it will be used the right way, and that it will be beneficial for anyone who wants to use it. We can talk about this all year. It is built, it will be used by many. It will help the athletes who want to use it. The gym floor will be put down sometime. However, all will still be crowded as the seasons overlap.
  13. On thing that most of you are not talking about is the difference between being fast and playing fast. Tez has been clock in the mid 4.5's, but he plays at about a 4.8 on defense. However, there are others that have been clocked at 4.8 that play faster. Not 4.5 but faster than they are. Smith County did lose there 2 fastest players in Bass and Tez, but they did not lose all of their game speed. We are not as fast as we were on paper, but on the field we will all soon see. Along with the region weight meet next year, maybe we should also have the region indoor track event. I will send the tape to Mel Kiper Jr. to evaluate all the talent that is coming back so that he can tell us who should be drafted where. Some of us need to realize that there is alot that goes into being a football player. Size, strength, speed, heart, desire, attitude, work ethic, and mental capacity. Some of these can be measured and some can't, but the films don't lie. If Freeman is so fast, then how come Bass, Cannon(4.9), and Davenport were all so wide open during the playoff game.
  14. No spray paint, only shoe polish! It was not any SC Coaches, I can guarantee that! The signs were nice though!!!!!!!!

The same offer was made 2 years ago, and you declined. The offer to scrimmage was made and you declined. The offer to work together was made and you declined. Put up or shut-up!
