  1. In state title games, wouldn’t mind replay on turnovers and touchdowns if any question at all. Give them 60 seconds and if nothing is decided, call stands.
  2. Most of the teams this year only had to go about 2 hours or less. That could change yearly but it worked out well this season.
  3. Phantom pass interference allows Riverside the FG chance late in the half. These refs have been brutal since Thursday
  4. Not sure if Riverside runner’s backside wasn’t on the ground before the fumble call. Close.
  5. Terrible call on personal foul, hit by DB coming up.
  6. Good luck on that. 5 is probably the lowest and may be a long shot.
  7. Largest 1A beginning next year in 6 class is Manassas at 374, would at 400 in a 5 class. 3 teams with 400. Not much difference with 10 more teams due to so many small schools.
  8. 3 quarter/semifinalists In Fayetteville, Coalfield, Giles, plus South Pittsburg and Jasper expecting big things next year. Watertown likely won’t remain down. Starts with local rival Bledsoe. Challenging for sure.
  9. Guess we’ll find out soon.
  10. I can’t see some of the first round games making that much money anyway. You drop a 1-9 team going 400 miles round trip to get beat 75-0 with a running clock the second half, sounds like a positive.
  11. In a five class, divides would be roughly to 400 in 1A, 625 in 2A, 925 in 3A, 1500 in 4A. It wouldn't take out all mismatches, by any means, but on average you'd expect the games to be more competitive. Plus less travel and other benefits. I don't think any of those enrollment differences would be excessive.
  12. I did a very quick look at rural-urban. It came up in regional meetings a few years ago but never went anywhere. I counted 3 classes, largest with 32 teams since there weren’t a lot of big schools. I put the max at 1500 to prevent the smallest in the class from being doubled. Above 1500 would be urban and ought to to be competitive on average regardless. Long story short, went with 32 in AAA, about 800-1500. AA with 48, a good even number, about 500-800. Remaining 65 or so (possible 8 regions with 8 teams) in 1A. It wouldn’t prevent all player movement but since the schools are generally further apart it would affect it in this division. not impossible though unlikely.
  13. Do they have ccs’s pull?
  14. Either though it seems Division II already has its football classes divided by merit/strength, not even numbers.
  15. Several of the teams in the state finals are picked to win by over 90 percent. Several games in the last 2 rounds have not been competitive, not to mention the many in the regular season. What should be done if anything?
  16. Easy way to solve it without examining the a school’s ethnic breakdown, you win 2 or less two years in a row you move down a class automatically. No appeal. Exception is when reclassification already moves a team down a class. If they win 2 or less two more seasons they go down again. Winning at least 3 puts them back in proper class after a two year period ends.
  17. Watertown has to have the whiniest basketball fans I’ve ever heard..10 seconds into the game and already were yelling at the refs. Were they that bad in football?
  18. Seems Howard’s issue is different. Not agreeing they should be allowed to drop, necessarily.
  19. I wouldn’t mind, on a 1 year trial basis, cutting out regular season classes. Let everyone schedule on their own (gates would rise, travel would decrease). Determine playoffs by computer rankings and enrollment. Minimum 5 wins. You couldn’t schedule 10 sure wins as it would hurt your computer ranking.
