  1. I know stcc...he was accepted and now attends southwest TN community college...we are all very proud of him and his accomplishments
  2. Arkansas is in the mix for the SEC West Title MaryvilleRebels...UT is the winningest program over the last 75 years...thats far from horrible or mediocre. Arkansas crushed Auburn at Auburn, their runningback went over 200 yards...keep in mind they had less than a week to prepare for Auburn, a team that was off of a win and a bye!
  3. Every team Notre Dame has played has been very good...Michigan...Maryland...Michigan State...Stanford...Pitt... They are still playing Florida State at Tallahassee and they are playing Boston College who is pretty good...At Air Force isn't going to be an easy game. AT USC isn't going to be easy either. I know right off hand that State, Michigan, USC, Florida State, Air Force, Maryland have all been ranked this year...Stanford went to a bowl game last year...and Purdue has been in the bowl mix the last few years as well...That isn't a pushover schedule...Virginia Tech plays a pushover schedule if you are going to talk about easy times.
  4. Private schools are not better in all sports in all classifications. MUS and CBHS have enough boys to be grouped with the AAA enrollment in basketball. BTW, White Station, Hamilton, Raleigh Egypt, Ridgeway (who is 2A), Bartlett, and many other memphis schools are a lot better then them. Germantown and Houston have been the best two baseball teams in the state in AAA the last two years...being nationally ranked (where is the private schools that match up with this). Germantown also won a mythical national championship in baseball in the early 90's...I don't see any private schools that are doing that. Ridgeway girls are better then any other girls program in the city, or state in soccer...I believe its 4 or 5 state championships in soccer in a row...where is the private schools there that can say that...? The Dandy Dozen in the Commercial Appeal has the top 5 schools in the city of Memphis as public...with CBHS (with an enrollment of over 600 boys as 6th)...to me that does not look like domination by the private schools...there is one other private school in the poll...and that is Briarcrest at number 12. Brentwood High School was ranked number 58 in the country in volleyball...there is no private school that can consistently compete with them...even if you took into account Harpeth Hall or all girls schools. Wrestling wise, privates are very strong, but last year the top 7 wrestling schools according to the AP poll were public, and then it was private schools...Red Bank, Bradley Central etc. were all better. If you want to talk about softball thats fine, Southaven MS which is generally considered part of the Shelby Metro area, is better then any Shelby Metro team by far...I know they don't compete in TN athletics, but there is no private school here that could compete with them...and they are giving financial aide And yes, it does effect everyone who is involved with TN high school athletics...right now it might only effect the 1a and 2a schools...but a split would effect everyone, and a MULTIPLIER WOULD REALLY EFFECT EVERYONE. Basketball and Football are the two biggest money making sports in college as well as the pros...I will probably assume they are the biggest in high school...I'm not saying they are more important, but if you want to have softball teams, swimming teams, or golf teams, unless they are self funded, their budgets are funded by other means...most usually other sports, ESPECIALLY FOOTBALL. Maybe Ezell is just good? And instead of saying that we have a problem across in the entire state because of Ezells girls softball program...we should look at other sports...and in other sports private schools might be good in 1a and sometimes 2a...they can not compete with the bigger schools overall.
  5. I'm not trying to be mean, but most people couldn't give a rat's a** about softball...I honestly care somewhat for it...but it's about football and only football...and if you think it doesn't then you are wrong, Private schools will always be very good in tennis and golf especially because many kids have access to those sports before public school kids do. Heck, why don't we change the fact of Tennessee athletics cus Private School A keeps winning state championships in CHEERLEADING! no, don't think so.

    DII-AA

BGA is really struggling special teams wise...they used to have two quality place kickers/ field goal kickers...but missing an extra point last week and a few other inconsitencies might be their downfall. If Harding gets their act together and plays like they are capable of playing, then they might be able to upset BCS or BGA. I think the #2 versus #3 West Region playoff game will be a war for the second straight year... I don't know who will win...I think MHA, BCS, and BGA could all win it on any given day...BGA has the best chance, and BCS has weapons and experience. Harding will be used to close games after playing ECS and BCS in the upcoming weeks, and possibly seeing them again. BGA didn't just cakewalk through the state championship last year...They were outgained in yardage, and didn't have any turnovers in their last two games...both of those factors really helped them.
  7. My friend told me they had 6 offensive running plays...he's an offensive lineman for UT, I guess he would know.
  8. Mincy and Rice are not zoned to Ridgeway I do not think... Rice went to White Station last year...Ridgeway is not the same zone...the open enrollment or something helped them get in to whatever high school they wanted to. I assure you, they will be eligible before you know it.
  9. Germantown and Houston might have soft schedules...but they are two of the top 4 5A teams in the state...and if you don't think that I am sorry. I honestly do not like Germantown...but they are very good. Both of those teams are very excellent.
  10. Maybe have an icon or something that can be checked or unchecked so people who might use a computer part time at a school, library, or work place could check that button and that way if they exit coachT, their username will automatically log off, and no one would be able to use their name. Doesn't really affect me, but there are a few people that would probably appreciate it.
  11. And they in all honesty couldn't afford it...and that was a horrible decision by the TSSAA. I believe Mincy will be eligible for the region tournament. I only say this because I can name players that played at public schools that transferred to private and competed for that private school in the region tournament...I actually know a male and a female that did it last year.
  12. If a split happens...I'm sure Harding, BGA, BCS, ECS, McCallie, Brentwood Academy, and all the other D2 teams would gladly welcome them. 1A football is nice, there was a comment about how Ezell has 55 guys on a team...BA has many years were they have over 100 guys out there. They also have more money, and more tradition then Ezell...if I was Ezell, I wouldn't want a split, it's a whole new ball game.
  13. Briarcrests is great...I played there my junior and senior year, and it was really nice to play on, the cold november air, awesome sound system, luxury suite, THE BEST LOCKER ROOMS YOU COULD DREAM OF, the short grass, adequate seating areas, plenty of parking, the facilities are amazing...I have seen McCallies as well, and I actually like BCS' more, I hear Tennessee High has a nice one. 14. On paper, this is a pretty easy game to predict. Germantown is ranked higher, and has more starters returning. They have more weapons offensively. But the same was true last year, and both times I thought Houston would lose, they didn't. I don't know who Houston plays this week...but I would consider resting their starters, and taking the district loss. They need to beat Germantown anyway, and if they do that, then they would win the district anyway, just might not be undefeated. Houston has Abe Felix, and they might give him the ball 40 times...this game is bigger then the Maryville/ Morristown West game I guess...its a #1 versus #2 game...and the schools are bigger and it's a 5A matchup with two teams that are backyard rivals...It is going to be a great game.
  15. Harding won last year in the regular season thanks to a blocked punt (I think they had 7 or 8 blocked punts last year, don't know about this year though). Then their qb was sacked and Cox returned it for a touchdown to win 14-7. In the playoffs the qb was flustered, fumbled it on a pitch, and Cox ran it in for a TD as well to win 7-0. This will be a low scoring war. Harding isn't going to go out there and win 35-0...ECS is well coached, has a great qb, and a dangerous tight end. You could make the case and say they have had the top defense in Division 2-AA for the last 4 years (just not the best offense, so they were always out on the field). ECS lost a lot of offensive lineman last year and some skill players, so their success is somewhat surprising...in fact on paper before the season, I had them winning only 2 games in the regular season... Harding is not playing as well as they did last year...perhaps it is because some of these teams are just better then they were last year. ECS having a week off to get ready for Harding is a big advantage. Harding 13 ECS 10 CoachT...this is the biggest game in Division 2AA, should be a game of the week.
  16. I think a lot of things were solved in this game. 1-Clausen is important to UT and the team. 2-Kelley Washington is a fine receiver, but I think Charles Rogers has solidified posession of the Biletnikoff. 3-Georgia really is really that good. 4-The Special Teams are horrible...I don't know what Alex Walls did (strained a quad against UF in the pre game)...but the other kicker is like 4/7 and Walls needs to get back...that injury was 2 weeks ago...and they really need to get him back. UT's kicker missed one against UF, he missed one against Arkansas too.
  17. Ya'll did a great job containing him. Maybe it's not Robert, but rather what your D can do. Matt Shelton, former Collierville standout, was held to like 25 yards against yall...and now he plays at Notre Dame... I was at the game, and CBHS was just a lot bigger and stronger... It's kinda funny...none of the Briarcrest players have said it on this board...but two CBHS assistant coaches were caught trespassing onto Briarcrests practice field and caught watching it...CoachT if you want to delete it fine, but it is a fact...and I only say it because it was a fact. I don't know if that is against TSSAA rules or not, but I don't think CBHS people should be getting on here bragging, when, for the second straight year they were caught going to their field.
  18. O-line isn't that big...they lost their center during the game to a neck injury (hope he is ok) and another player (I think a left tackle)...they aren't by anymeans small, but I have a friend who played for Houston and he said they work real hard at hitting the sleds, and the kids just play real hard...
  19. I am Church of Christ, and I think it is horrible that Ezell did what they did...They got the win, so they need to leave it at that...as far as teams like Celina doing it, that is not the same...Ezell has nothing to prove at all, some of those other schools are sub .500 teams and are probably doing it to build confidence...heck some of those seniors for those small schools are just trying to play as much as possible...these last three or four games are their playoffs (not talking about any team in particular in 1a, I don't follow it). I never enjoyed playing teams that were not very good in the first place...it's hard to get up for, not as many people go to the game, and all you can do is mess up...its a lose lose situation. I don't see how the coach for Ezell can look at the other coach after the game after doing something like that...There are ways of keeping the score down (not passing it, running it, milking the clock, doing simple plays, etc.) If ezell wasn't trying to pad the score, and they scored 71 points...then they are better then any high school team in the country. Ezell should know better then anyone how it feels to get scored on that bad (76-0 to BGA); LOSING THEIR HOMECOMING FOR MANY YEARS AS WELL...I have been to Ezell Harding games when they were bad, and I can honestly say my team would have loved to run the score up against them (we were one of those sub .500 teams at the time so it would have been nice to finally break 45 etc.), But we didn't do it. I don't know much about lighthouse christian, but I suspect that their players, coaches, and parents are good people and don't deserve that kind of embarrassment...and I have been on my share of bad teams, and its really hard to go to school the next day, and hear jeers about that kinda stuff (especially from your friends that aren't even on the team)...and then you gotta go to practice and do it all over again...a lot of times the only fans there are your parents, and maybe even they don't appreciate what you are really going through and how hard it is to do those things, and then still focus on school, God, and maybe even work on the side, etc. I bet Lighthouse has a hard time fielding a team as it is...and getting blown out by 70 points doesn't make things easier...if any players are reading this that have gone through what Lighthouse is going through, don't worry about it...some of us(ESPECIALLY EZELL HARDING!) know what it's like to get made fun of etc.
  20. A Memphis Sports Radio Station reported this morning that Casey Clausens mother had a meeting with Fulmer Monday morning. She gave him and I quote "an earful and then some" for playing her son because he was injured...Apparently she was upset and said "Would you play your son in a game if he was hurt that badly?" I am not saying any of this is true, but rather that a sports radio station reported it. I find it ironic that the Commercial Appeal has in big bold headlines, Fulmer saying that Clausen does not have anything broken. James Banks in no way compares to AJ Suggs...The numbers are not that great for Suggs, but Banks is new, and does not have any experience at all, much less experience this year in a big game enviroment on the road. I do not like Suggs, I do not like Georgia Tech, but he is a better qb right now then Banks... By the way, perhaps his numbers are down because he has played injured for some of the year...and the game against Clemson was played in a driving rainstorm.
  21. Good job WesVols...wish you would do D2-AA. Rowdy...don't be mad that he has Ryan last...I know you think they are number one and all, and this is a free forum; but common logic and sense has to sink in, jk.
  22. Pujo-I think you have read too many private/public posts... The reason most private schools were started was because of segregation...many parents did not want their kids to be in that enviroment or thought it was unsafe, so they created their own schools... The only reason I know this, is because my alma mater is proud that we were established in 1955 well before segregation... The 12 men who founded it wanted there to be a place to teach God's word without fear of persecution and without anyone governing them... But the third reason they wanted to do it, was so on the off chance this thing called a computer would be built, along with this thing called the internet that would allow public school supporters to accuse them of recruiting. Recruiting is illegal according to TSSAA rules, so if you know a school that is recruiting kids, report them...other wise let's stick to the topics at hand, which is basically that people feel that private schools have an advantage because they have a larger area to draw from, but they fail to realize that the equilizer is 1-academic testing to get in, 2-ethical and character rules that are much stricter then public schools, 3- and most importantly...this thing called MONEY that is usually almost 4-7 thousand to attend these schools.
  23. RyanRowdy... We can obviously tell I don't play for Ryan by looking at the name lol.
  24. Any reason why he is off the team? Can anyone else confirm this?
  25. Todd scored an 80 yard TD against MUS, the last two years he is averaging over 100 yards a game against them... Name some players that are better please?
