Got to see the new Demarini's in action last night.The sound is a cross between composite and wood. Very different. The ball seems to come off a little better than wood. An seems to have more pop than wood. But it is going to take away some hits from guys that got the little dinkers before. Seems you have got to swing them instead of just putting the bat in front of the ball. They will be eye openers. But this is the college bats. Don't know what restrictions will be on high school. If their the same it is going to change the game.

Well it looks like there's a new boss in jasper according to the paper this morning. Congrats to coach Tony Long. Does any one know about new coach? Seems like he has been around some good programs. Good luck to the Warrior faithful.

OK Now that school has been in session now for a week or two. Who will be the coach? Keep hearing rumors. Shane Roberson maybe? I know it's eating at the Warrior faithful. Give us some help.

I was told tuesday night he was offered job on tuesday. If you look into past coaches at Seq. Co you will find who it is. He is or was coaching at Shelby Valley High school in Pike Co. KY.

I'd bet the coach from KY was offered the job and turned it down because his wife didn't want to come. Laugh if you want but it's true. He is a good coach. Don't know about the 6 state titles. He has coached in TN before . But anyway good luck with the new coach.

It must be Bledsoe Co. because Sequatchie Co. hosted in 2007.

Sequatchie Co. was 6-4 the 1980 season and 7-4 the 1981 season. The 1981 season was the 1st year Seq. Co. went AA. We had 9 district games and 1 off game against Whitwell. That season the district had McCallie, Ooltewah, Soddy Daisy, Riverside, Notre Dame, Grundy, City High, Central and Kirkman. Went 4-1 1st half and 2-3 2nd half with a bowl win against Marion Co to make it 7-4.

From what I saw, it looked like S. Pitt will be as strong or stronger than last year if they have any line at all. The QB looks to be a better passer than last year. Plenty of good hands and speed as always. Signal Mt. will be a good team in the future. They have a good group of coaches it looks like. Central looked like they have some speed and seem to have started to buy in to Coach Bargers system. Could have a good year. From what I saw Seq. is still a little young in some positions. But will be a different team this year than the past 2. The QB position will be a big factor. Seems like someone is going to have to step up and be the man whoever it is. Needs a leader not a bunch of followers. Didn't get to see much of Howard and Coffee Co.

I think Old Pirate hit it right on the head. As far as me not knowing what's going on? All I can say is, I've watched this group of high school players from all the schools in the valley grow up playing. I know where they started at. Some have moved, some haven't. Some live on the mountain, some don't. The point is, if they had stayed where they started Jasper wouldn't be where they are now for sure.

Not taking anything from Marion Co. But if it wasn't for South Pittsburg and Grundy Co. the Warriors would be in trouble now.

What about the wood bat Tournament at Warren Co. this weekend?

You for got to mention that Seq. Co. was blasting Jasper 10-3 with 18 hits in the top of 4th with bases loaded and no outs. Then the baseball gods struck Seq. Co. it started to rain. Coach Roberts didn't waste any time calling the game did he? It's wasn't 10 minutes an it was called. Most places like Red Bank would have tried to get it in. They used 12 bags of conditioner and tarped the field twice in their game. But the all mighty warriors got away with one didn't they. Just wanted to let people know the real story.

If the coach doesn't care, why did a certain B-Ball player get chewed out for being in the football weight room during football season? If he let them work out with Coach Mullins it might the team. Every sport in the school except boy's BB has work outs with him, even cheerleading. HA HA All I'm saying is he's afraid they might like what they see. Back when Seq. Co had the good football teams the B-Ball players played. If it hadn't been for the players like John Barker, Dan Tibbs, Stephen Britt, Trent Young (allstate in both I Think) Jackie Fletcher and others in the late 80's and 90's Seq. Co football and B-Ball would have suffered. Maybe they thought it might have helped their mantal and physical game. But both would have suffered. I just wish some of you b-ball players would try it and maybe some of the football players might help the b-ball team. Indian, About the football player not playing b-ball anymore? He got tired of having to worry about having to make the decision to go to camp, shoot b-ball lift weights or play baseball in the summer. The B-Ball coach put to much pressure on him.

Why would Coach Fritz want to leave a gold mine and come to a coal mine? The pay at Seq. is probably half of what he's making. The athletic ability of the kids he's got is better, He gets the basketball players needed to have a good team and he has the support of the administration also. Coach Armstrong is a good coach and good person but with out the bullets for the gun you can't shoot back very much. I have supported the program for many years and have seen many coaches come and go but until the admin gets behind the coach whoever it is, their going to get the same results. Their hasn't been more than 1 or 2 basketball palyers on the team in years. Back when Seq. Co. had the good teams it had B-ball players. These guys were always the recievers and skill players. I think it's not right for a coach to try to keep kids from playing if they want. The B-Ball coach won't even let his guys look at the football weight room. I don't know if somme would play or not but, a little incouragement could go a long ways. For him and the football team. I hope Coach Armstrong gets a job where he gets all of the above.
