Maryville big, again. The bigger question is, will anyone that Maryville plays next year stay with 2 TD's? I am including their 5 play-off games in that discussion.

I would be interested to know what problems you think Morristown West has, I assume you mean replacing almost the whole offense. Oh, BTW from what I hear they have 100+ kids working out at each session this summer.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned the incident that happened back in March following a Big East basketball tournament game. Syracuse's coach Jim Boeheim cursed, more than once, at an entire group of reporters in a post-game press conference. Yes he was defending one of his players, but to me that is a lot worse than what Chuck has done. You know what happened to Boeheim? The president of University and the AD publicly reprimanded him and told him to not do it again and everyone moved on. The same thing should have happened here. Chuck admitted he made a mistake, like every human being who walked the earth has, and he should have been reprimanded and lets all move on. The dangerous thing here is that when you start letting parents run the athletic programs, soon all you will have it utter chaos!

Maples is awesome. I wish he would do everyone else in 4A a favor and skip his senior year and go ahead and go to college!

RR, I agree with you totally on your last point. That is one of the biggest myths of Maryville's run. They have had great talent the last several years. Yes they are coached extremely well, but when you have a tailback that signs at Auburn and a QB that Steve Spurrier hand picks then you have some good players. I was a D1 coach I would definately be calling these kids up especially Mr. Tallent.

Of course they have an unfair advantage, anyone who is impartial can see that. However, it is the system we live under so there is no use crying about it.

Oh I would have to say that Morristown West is EASILY the worst team Maryville has played this year. The football universe drops off East of Knoxville. I hope the Trojans realize that the game is no longer played with leather helmets and they remember to air up the footballs before the game!

I am not calling you names or calling you stupid, I just think you believe in your team. If my team had won all but 2 games since 2001 I would be very confident also! I just think it is very nice of Morristown West to actually show up for the game this week and give Maryville a light workout before the State Championship game. I know some of the players and coaches at Morristown West and I can assure you of one thing. To say that they respect Maryville and know they have their work cut out for them this week is an understatement. I would hope that this thread could remain civil and stick to the game. However, I know that probably won't happen. I just hope for a good game from both teams and that their fans conduct themselves with the class that both programs have shown in the past.

Morristown West had 140 yards passing last week....at halftime.

Mr. FBE Maryville has a great program, great fans and great kids. However, it gets a little old when people still make excuses for the 1 loss they have had since 2001, because the game was moved to Saturday. If you expect your opponents not to make excuses when y'all beat them (which you do every week) then please let the play-off game from 2003 go and if you can't give Morristown West any credit for the win then just stop commenting on it. We all know your feelings on the subject. Thank you

Man Morristown West must be on the right track, because they are now being accussed of recruiting, just like Maryville. Yee haw!!!!!! Funny no one accused the Trojans of recruiting last year!

I agree with Big Daddy. I am a West fan and I really hope you are not. Ramsey is probably the best Quarterback in the IMAC and was good enough last year as a sophomore to hang 44 on West. I really hope that CoachT or one of the moderators kick you off of this site. You are a disgrace. Grow up and get a life. I hope for a good game Friday.

I doubt they have more talent than Alcoa.

For any of you that follow Melrose, I read in the Commercial appeal that Melrose has had 3 different starting QB's in their 3 games. Why? Also what kind of offense are they running? I watched them in last year's Blue Cross Bowl and they were outstanding (both players and coaching). I think they have to be the team to beat in 4A this year. I live in East Tennessee and was just wanting a little info. Good luck this year!
