  1. Oak Ridge may be running on all cylinders but so is Jeff Co. Both teams are "freight trains" right now that just keep picking up speed. I believe that the two teams are very well-matched and have the ability to beat anyone in the state. The winning team MUST establish what they do best... the running game. If the running game is working they could pass at some points. Jefferson County has many many big time players who can turn a busted play into a touchdown. I haven't seen Oak Ridge play so I can't speculate. Jefferson County wins this battle of the giants... JC- 27 OR - 21
  2. This game will definitely be a clash of two titans. The Jefferson County freight train is still picking up speed every week. Their offense is to say the least awesome.... for the most part.. JC can score at will. With the 3 great backs that are used, a talented QB, and several capable wideouts, JC will score more points than the cats can handle. The Jefferson County defense has stepped it up BIG TIME in recent weeks...they have become very stingy for all teams. Jefferson County will win this close game. JC - 27 OR - 21
  3. So saying big words (to you) like inferior makes you smarter... maybe it's your unclear anticedants or the use of the words "a whole lot". Whatever the case is please stop with the abusive trash talk. Thank you.
  4. Govman, Yes Jefferson County can also defend very well against the Wing T b/c coach Meadows has a very thorough knowledge of how it works. For example... the first round the playoffs last year against McMinn Co.
  5. William Blount vs Jeff Co. --JC by 21 Sevier Co. vs Oak Ridge -- OR by 15 Morristown East vs Tennessee High --ME by 8 << i agree Morristown West vs. Sullivan South --MW by 21<< i agree Maryville vs Rhea Co. --M by 28 Powell vs Chatt. Central --PHS by 3 Knox Central vs East Ridge --KC by 21 Knox West vs Cleveland --C by 10 Seymour over Kingston by 6 Fulton over Sullivan North by 16 Anderson over Rutledge by 18<< i agree Austin East over Pigeon Forge by 30<< i agree Gatlinburg Pittman over Sweetwater by 3 Alcoa over Cumb Gap by 24 Cloudland over CAK by 27
  6. Yeah he can really relate to the players on a personal level and communicate with them.. he lets them have fun at the same time that they are working hard. I played for him when he was an assitant at Jefferson Co. I really enjoyed having him as a coach.
  7. Oak Ridge over Sevier Co. DB over Soddy Daisy Jefferson County over William Blount McMinn Co. over Science Hill And that my friends is how it's gonna be!
  8. Maryville trounces Rhea Co. 47- 15
  9. Erik Hutchins?... he played for Jeff Co in the late 80s and then went on to CNC but hurt his hip there. I don't know if that is who you are talking about. He now coaches at McMinn Co.
  10. Jeff Jennings Jr. from Jefferson County is awesome on both sides of the ball, is an outstanding student, and just has a lot of heart!
  11. Shiverdecker from Jefferson County is a freshmen and very fast... He plays RB and practices with the varsity team.. He will be a real threat in the future.
  12. I agree. I think Soddy will give DB fits for awhile but the depth of DB will wear down Soddy. Thus, DB will drive all over Miss Daisy in that later quarters.
  13. Hey Susie Q, Yes, Cowboys is in Jefferson County. I think if Jefferson County keeps up their jugernant offense and their stingy defense then they would make a run at state, but let's not get into that.. it's still too early. To say that Walker is a better student that Jeff and Scoot is gettin a little personal... i know the getting to class thing was a joke.. but ya know... that's kinda shady. Anyways Jeff is a very good student... he's getting into Vandy as a football player and for Academics. He left along time ago when the head coach at Jefferson County had been there for a long time and wasn't retiring soon. He got the coaching position at Maryville and who wouldn't take it for a head coaching job rather than assitant and more money. Now that he has the powerhouse at Maryville he probably won't leave... I wouldn't either. The Glory is back with Scooter Houston, Jeff Jennings, Tyler Brown, and Parker Clement and the rest of the team which is as equally important as these 4 players.
  14. Coach Meadows - Jeff Co Hutchins - McMinn Co (from Jeff Co) Pemberton - Catholic Quarles - Maryville (from Jeff Co) Morristown East staff My top 5
  15. I don't believe that there are too many teams at all. The number of teams quickly get reduced and the ones that don't deserve to be in the playoffs get sent home early. And I love 5 more weeks of football.
  16. Back to the topic... I haven't seen William Blount play this year so I can only speculate by others' comments. It sounds as though WB has enormous talent at several postions. (and so do the Pats..) The game will probably start off quick w/ a score or something then sslllooww down in the 2nd quarter... that will make the 2nd half exciting. ... I agree with Lawyer... the offensive line isn't as great as some but in the Wing T you don't necessarily have to be great to get it done because before ya know it the play is past you. I wish the best of luck to both teams but in the end the Pats will have taken the Govenors Mansion.
  17. Hey Rip... there's no need to try and pick fights with people... Just speak your mind and opinion but don't direct negative comments towards others.
  18. I really don't think that the rain will be a factor in this one. Scooter slides all over the place when it doesn't rain b/c he makes all those quick moves. haha Anyway... I agree with Lawyer>>> Jeff's power running will make up for it but i really don't think it's gonna rain tomorrow night... Doin all that today!
  19. Even with a good defense I still believe that Jefferson County's offense will be too hot to handle for the Govs from WB. JC scores quick and often and it could make it a very long night for William Blount. Hey ART, Ignore any Jefferson County fans that say stuff just to pick fight or act like they know what they are talking about b/c they don't have a clue. JC - 35 WB - 13
  20. DB has too much talent for Soddy Daisy to beat them. They will be hitting Lamon all night long and they will win big.... DB 51 SD 21 Science Hill was overrated from the beginning... They do have a pretty good defense but not deserving of #1 in the state..(not sure it is anymore after DB and JC anyway) I believe McMinn is a very good football team under first year head coach Erik Hutchins (from Jefferson County). He knows how to get the kids to play. McMinn trounces Science Hill MC - 28 SH - 6 And I've already stated that I know WB will not beat Jefferson County. Too much offense for the Govs to stop. JC - 35 WB - 13
  21. What was the record between Regions 1 and 2 this year?... just to clear up the tougher region talk.
  22. DB dominates this one.... DB - 51 SD - 21
  23. Even though they are a team that finds a way to win and can sneak up w/ the upset, I still do not believe that they have what it takes to derail the Jefferson County freight train... especially not in Dumplin Valley.
