  1. Like I said, the fullback and runningback this year are just as good if not better than Turner. I'm not saying I'm glad he's gone, I'm saying we'd probably be doing the same on offense, our line is too small (avg weight around 210 and 1 returning starter) Huge factor on defense though. Right now there are too many players without enough experience. They can't read blocks or make tackles like he could Rwest backs up my point made earlier, so no my "mentality of thinking" is not off
  2. It doesn't matter that he transferred, FRA's fullback and their new running back are just as good, if not better. True, FRA does run the same plays over and over but if their tailback can turn the corner on the toss then he's most likely gone due to his speed. Running up the gut is left to the fullback who can break those just as easy as the running back can break out on the tosses Also true, the coaches need to mix the play calling up a whole lot more. When FRA is forced to pass then it is easy for the defense to cover and that is when all their interceptions occur. Since FRA is such a small team, there needs to be different plays thrown into the mix. If they were stacked with talent and a never ending backup team then they could run the same play every play and be succesful. The truth is that with a small team you need to outsmart your opponent and not try to overpower them.
  3. Sorry, thinking of somone else, forget I ever posted that.
  4. People could argue all day over recruiting. Its a subject that has too many different sides to it. A student talks to their friend and persuades them to play for a certain team. Is it recruiting, I don't think so, but other people could think it is.
  5. I've never been to a meet either. It seems like it would be pretty boring. Teams should make it like that Nike(I think its Nike) commercial where the runners have a whole squad of cheerleaders running with them cheering them on
  6. Michael Giglio is a beast in Cross Country
  7. Basile would be a whole lot more noticeable if the quarterback ever threw to him
  8. wow, this post sure is on topic
  9. Yeah, it kinda defeats the purpose of this being a football board
  10. He never said he was the one that posted the 100,000th, he said there should be over 100,000 today.
  11. I can't wait to see the game between these two teams. Ezell is the heavy favorite but don't be surprised to see an upset. FRA is out to prove themselves this year, small squad or not.
  12. It's a toss up but I'm going with South Pitt
  13. What about who you think will go all the way, I think it will be either South Pitt or Cloudland
  14. Out of these choices I think Davidson/Mcewen would be the best although I haven't seen Mcewen play yet, and also: Scrimmages are worthless on predicting the outcome of a season.
  15. I'm pretty sure that Gordonsville will get Region 4. FCS could take it but they would need to play extremely well in the rest of their games.
  16. Yeah, DCA needs to be higher in this poll. I'm not sure how they will match up against CPA, but I have a feeling that DCA will be on top of Region 5 this year
  17. Region 5 (always a tough region, don't know if one of them can take it all the way again this year though) 1) DCA 2) CPA 3) Ezell 4) FRA
  18. Winning that big is not too impressive against Lighthouse. For the past 5 years or so we put up 40-50+ points on them at each game and most of those points came from our 2nd and 3rd teams. Almost any team could put up 80 points on them if they wanted to. The point is that whoever beat Lighthouse, Tipton-Rosemark??(who are they), shouldn't feel so good about themselves until they do that against a real team
  19. I like this post, I just hope FRA can keep up with DCA Ezell and CPA
  20. You're so negative ADAD, do you go to every post and put something negative on it?
  21. Does anyone know the score of this game?
  22. I expect FRA to do a whole lot better than what's expected from them. Size isn't everything that makes up a football team, it takes heart, and from what I've seen FRA has plenty of it.
  23. True it is their homecoming, but who do think will be more inspired to play. If I was picked to play at a schools homecoming I would want to show them why they shouldn't have picked us to play them. I expect FRA to win easily over Jo Byrns, homecoming or not
