  2. I don't venture on baseball boards as much. What's the debate? I may have to weigh in on this year's edition
  3. Awwww shoot Hedgehog. One of us has to be the 14-AAA homer Bartlett and Millington the 'Boro /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ( On tonight's game all I can say is it will be a war. )
  4. And being a Memphis fan why should I sift through every SEC thread in here /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> This deseved it's own thread. You know it was worth it Sol /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  5. The guy DID invent the internet. That's got to take a tremendous amount of energy to maintain
  6. Vol fans......for your listening pleasure Sounds clips are on the right side of the page
  7. Congrats to ya'll too. You're right about Brianna's game tonight. I was very proud of her. What impressed me most was how the rest of the starters were able to increase the lead with Ashley Herring on the bench. See you guys Wednesday night. It's bound to be a good one.
  8. Dulcinea.....Dulcinea........I see heaven when I see thee, Dulcinea...................
  9. Yeah, I think that's pretty cool too CD. No matter what school we support we're all ( mostly ) from the Volunteer state
  10. Yeah, the lone Memphis thread. I'm proud of what my guys did. It stinks we're in a crappy conference but it's where we're at right now until something better (hopefully) happens. What I find funny is how we are not any good or good enough to be Top 10 because we're " untested " and how we performed early in the year ( GA Tech, UT, and Arizona ) To the Vols credit, the UT game was the only one where we got flat out beat.....start to finish. If I had one game I wish we could do over again, that one is it. Although, this is a much better team now than they were early on. Anyway, my point is I find it very funny how we're not so great ourselves but at the same time we're a great quality win for the likes of Arizona.
  11. We'd love to be in the SEC but you and I both know several schools, UT included, would never allow it. If you think the SEC would like the Tigers in the conference the I'd love it to happen but that and the BE are not very likely. Sadly, there isn't much we can do that I know of. Our AD has been about as proactive as a garden gnome. Besides, it's football that makes the College sports world go 'round and Memphis football just isn't there yet. 3 straight bowl seasons were a good start but last year's debacle set us back ( and there were a number of reasons why that happened....all of whom have been addressed thankfully) If you know anybody with clout or have Slive's home phone # pull some strings.....
  12. It's impossible. Don't those kids know he keeps going, and going, and going...............................................
  13. No kidding. The SEC is wild this year The team I don't get is LSU. They go from a final four team to a team that could miss the NIT
  14. There was some speculation during All-Star game weekend that the city of Las Vegas was in talks with Stern and the NBA trying to woo a team to the citya dn they probably still are. One article written about the issue mentioned the Grizzlies as a possible candidate since they are up for sale. Local radio took that and ran with it and all the sudden "the Grizzlies were moving to Las Vegas" . The Grizz have signed an agreement saying they won't and/or can't move until 2010 or 2012. If they were to make such a move so soon the new owners would have to pay a HEAVY penalty fee for moving the team prior to that date. A more likely team is the Kings who have been bickering with the city of Sacramento over a new arena.
  15. I hear ya. I'd enjoy the ride though. Pearl has the Vols going the right direction and depending on seeding( Vols need to finish strong and have a good Conference Tourney) could do a little damage in the Big Dance. Thankfully, W and L is all that matters. I'd love to take that UT game back....even if it was only a point
  16. That's an opinion which you are more than entitled to. The only reason this ever comes up is that sometimes a team will hold the ball while the defense sits back in a zone and refuses to come out and guard. In the vast majority of games played in a season it's a non-issue. In regards to high school basketball being a stepping stone for college basketball I would agree although not every high school player is going to play college basketball. However, I would think that most high school players that plan on playing college ball ( especially D-1 ) play some form of AAU. The shot clock won't be new to them and if a player is good enough to play at the college level the shot clock is a minor adjustment anyway.
  17. Ugh...I can't believe I'm about to stand up for the Vols Did UT win the game or didn't they? However ugly the game was it still goes in the left-hand column. That's all they'll be looking at on Selection Sunday.
  18. MMMMmmmmmm...I could go for some hypothetical pizza right now.
  19. This a pattern for Pacman. Three times he has been involved in trouble at night clubs since he was drafted in 2005. Now, the club manager said that the shooter was in Pacman's party, not Jones himself, so unless it can be proven Jones told the guy to shoot somebody I doubt there will be any major charges filed against him. The point is the guy is a great talent and he is also a PR nightmare for the Titans. Where this goes, trouble follows. Eventually, the Titans will have to decide if his on the field production outweighs the off the field distractions. besides, the guy takes $81,000 to a nightclub in Vegas and doesn't expect trouble???
