I would rather watch a hog fart than watch professional soccer....

The price of fast food keeps going up, but I try to always tip my Sonic ladies....especially those on roller skates.....

I'll just be glad when my CoachT plus membership runs out. Let this board be controlled by the same 3 or 4 people. There is no place for open conversation on here.

The Rutledge benefit generated around $7400 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. An overwhelming success! That should buy a ticket or two..... Check out this bumper sticker that is available for $3.50 with free shipping thru savethepredators.com: http://home.comcast.net/~37215/sticker.jpg Can be purchased using Paypal.

I just might do that.....

Savethepredators.com will be holding a rally concert/silent auction at The Rutledge this Tuesday, July 10 at 7PM. Cover is $10 with proceeds going to The Big Brothers/ Big Sisters for the purchase of season tickets. The show is all ages (18 and under accompanied by adult), and The Rutledge is a SMOKE-FREE venue (outside smoking area provided), located on 4th Avenue S, just over from the "Sommet" Center.... Here's an online flyer for the show: http://home.comcast.net/~37215/july10.jpg Savethepredators.com is also offering a high quality T-shirt for $12 to go towards the purchasing of season tickets. They have already been getting orders from areas such as Pittsburgh, where fans have said they know what we are going through here, as they also had to fight to keep their beloved team, and that they want to help us keep our team here. Also, check out Nashvilleloveshockey.com, and order your Predators bracelets/armbands and support the cause. To the naysayers, I just want to say, that whatever may happen, for instance if they do indeed move for whatever reason, at least we can say we did all we could do to keep them here. Nothing is ever certain, but at least we can say we gave it our all, and helped do our part.

It seems that Kansas City is once again at it to steal a team. They honestly have a very strong selling point to get the Preds. A brand new arena. All luxury seats SOLD. Pro teams aren't to be trusted. They make cities bend over backwards to come, then when things start to slide, they are on to better things, often leaving cities in debt with multi-million dollar event centers left to rust at the taxpayers expense. That is the threat. KC is offering a hard sell.... BUT... one needs to keep in mind that they lost TWO pro teams over the years. They lost their own NHL franchise after only like 2 years in the 1970's, and they lost their NBA franchise in around 1984. In terms of market size, they are simlilar to us... Pro sports teams don't care, though. They will go to whoever provides them that stable situation at that current moment. Nashville's business community has failed us. Period. We have one of, if not THE highest civilian-owned season ticket sale bases in the NHL. The local businesses will definitely feel not having people downtown 42+ nights of the year. They are the ones who need to step it up. Regardless....everyone needs to show up at Plaster's rally, and also, those interested, my friend's band will be one of four local rock bands playing The Rutledge on Tuesday July 10 for a Save The Predators benefit. Silent auction, you name it. If you are in town, or close by, feel free to come join the cause

So proud of local boy Corey Brewer. Gotta admit, though...I was hoping he would either go to nearby Charlotte or resurgent Chicago.........

I agree as well. Kariya slipped a bit last season, and was dissappointing in the playoffs. Still, it's truly hard to form an opinion, and there are so many things yet to unfold, giving the current status of the team. I have no idea what is going through the minds of everyone involved. I do, however, hope to have the same type of help from the commissioner to keep our team here, as was given to keep the Penguins in Pittsburgh. Will we, though? Considering we are in a non-traditional market, get the same type of support from Bettman and Co? One can only hope.

If only you truly had more disagreements with your own...lol. I'd take you up on that trip to Alcoa, but I'm afraid if we started to discuss politics, you'd put me out on the side of the interstate. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Here's a local issue....why did those new Robertson County taxes pass by such a landslide? Worse yet, why did SO FEW turn out to vote? NEVER vote for tax increases. Let them do it on their own. That's what I say. Regardless....sales tax increase, tag renewal increase, AND the property taxes may STILL go up. Glad I live on this side of 31W... /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> -
The only thing that will solve all of this is if the Titans new defensive secondary, both those from the recent draft class, as well as the free agent additions of Harper and Griffin, step in and do the job, and make us forget all about Pacman. I will say this, I was watching taped game highlights this past week, and, man, did Pacman come into his own this year. His two interceptions in the Giants comeback game, secured the win and helped turn our season around. Replacing him in the secondary is one thing, but he literally made the Titans go from worst to first in the return department. That dude is magic at kick and punt returns. THAT is where he will be hard to replace. On the off the field antics, man, the dude just ain't gonna learn. All these recent stories about his entourage being the ones responsible for the shootings, brings new light to several altercations, most notably, the shooting at the gas station at 8th and Wedgewood at 2AM in the morning a couple years back. I think his posse is just straight up DANGEROUS. The guy just doesn't care. Nobody is gonna tell him what to do. I have defended him for months. I just don't care anymore. If the guy really gave a crap about turning his life around, he would stop going to seedy dives at 4am in the morning. If you go to these places enough and late enough over and over...something bad will eventually happen. He has too much to lose, but either doesn't realize, or just flat out doesn't care....

I like Phil. His coaching tactics/play-calling of recent years have left me scratching my head, but I honestly do enjoy having him on the sidelines.

Dandy, when I disagree with those in my camp, trust me, I let it be known, I don't worship the ground they walk on just because they have the D next to their name. If you truly believe that Sen. Black is wrong, then make it known even more so how much on her side you are, but nevertheless, AGAINST this idea. I think by allowing this idea to go through, it will be opening a whole can of worms. I don't want a whole slew of toll roads throughout the state. We have done just fine without them up to this point. I have spoken with many a truck driver at my old job, and each and everyone bragged about the conditions of our roads (interstates). Tennessee has done a good job keeping up the road projects, whether it be paving, widening, you name it compared to other states. The money is there. Let's keep operating the way we have been. Toll roads are pointless considering that. Having said that, I may once again need a ride to our game at Pearl-Cohn this year..... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> -

Hey Dandy (I feel silly calling you that)...see ? We CAN discuss issues without calling names and being, in general...MEAN. You still didn't discuss Sen. Diane Black's passion with toll roads, which, by the way, once again were prominently in the news again, this past Wednesday. (She SWEARS it is not a PILOT toll road project-the Hendersonville to Nashville thing). Whatever. She is your lady. She won't listen to me. Maybe you should tell her your thoughts on the issue. She's not a democrat, but LOVES her a toll road. She voted NO on the cigarette tax increase, but praised the entire concept of BEP. Wants programs to exist, but doesn't want to fund them. Go figure. In the end, it was YOUR party, that let this cigarette tax go through...They spoke loudly against, but in the end, voted with it. In fact, added to it...right? Call them...I can't. Bredesen, you say, has all these new programs and spending...like what? The continuing need to fund public education? It will continue to increase year after year after year. That won't change. Sumner County is the perfect example of this, we have to have the moneys available to move forward with this unprecedented growth in student enrollment. I think there are like 10-12 schools on the to be built list. Our Republican school board can't decide how and which egineering firm to hire to discuss how and where and when to build the schools. They have to pay these engineering firms mucho $$$ to give them their opinion. Gotta allocate money in the budget to pay these guys right? There you go....... -
Wow guys..thanks for all the insight. Dixon should indeed, be unreal at RB, and by all accounts Greenwade should be the starting QB. I hate that we are opening up with Portland first game, as I like to always play them midseason....but oh well. It's mainly just a bragging rights game anyway. Let's get it started right by beating them the same way as last year. I hate to hear that West was sat out the Macon County game for the reason you guys said. Our offense was so lackluster that game. If West had been in, I believe he would have been the difference. In fact, I know he would have been. Our most pathetic game last year, in my opinion, was the Station Camp game. Horrible game planning and preparation. We flat out stunk that game.... Regardless, I feel that the Blue Devils will return to form this year as one of the best teams in the midstate..... GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!

Please post the 2007 schedule if you know it, and let's also begin discussion on this year's team.....

dandy- Our own State Senator Diane Black (R-Gallatin), who represents our area of Sumner and Robertson County, was a supporter of tobacco-tax legislation in the past as a member of the state house, and not only that, but SHE CHAMPIONED this whole TOLL ROAD thing. That's her baby. She has wanted a toll road connecting Hendersonville to Nashville ever since she became a State Senator. I know, in your eyes, Democrats are scum of the earth and are the sole reason people get robbed in the subway, but c'mon. I think all in all, Bredeson has managed the state's finances much better than ya'lls man, DON SUNDQUIST. It's not just the Dems thinking up, and supporting some of the things you mentioned in your opening post. I just wanted to point that out. That's my reason for this post. Besides, President Bush considered winning 51% of American voters in 2004 a memorandum. Gov. Bredesen won ALL 95 TENNESSEE COUNTIES a few months back. Record setting. What would that fall under? A memorandum? I don't know, maybe.....I don't agree with the cigarette tax, but we are still UNDER the national average per pack.... I'm just ready for football...... -

Enoch George and his Maury County compadres deserve a big huge pat on the back for doing what should be done in every county. Is the Sheriff (Bob Barker) of my county doing this? NOPE! Hey, gotta have cheap labor, right? I drive by many a construction site and wonder, "if the law were to pull up right now, what would happen?" Some say this is racial profling...I say um "Baloney". I also say, charge the people who are knowingly harboring these individuals. As far as the Williamson County Sheriff goes, could you imagine being a drug trafficer appearing before a judge in his county? They could simply say, "I'm just doing what he does, in a way". That moron should have been fired on the spot. Instead, he continues to enforce the law, even though he doesn't have to abide by it. Hypocrites, hypocrites..... -
Well, it doesn't matter where you live, money talks. But if Paris Hilton doesn't do time like she is supposed to, this may be the one that blows everything out of the water. They said she got cupcakes delivered to her house during the day. I don't believe that would have happened at the jail. Our justice system is a joke and has been for years. $$$$$$ buys justice. Nicole Richie was arrested awhile back for driving the WRONG WAY down the freeway while wasted a few months back. Me or you wouldn't have seen the light of day until AFTER our court date. She was of course, able to spring bail, and appear on all the late night shows..... From LA starlets to CEO's...if you have the money, you buy your way out.....

WAY TO GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who wins this game depends on which team shows up on either side. Both have been inconsistent. White House is small and young, and really hasn't put it together this year. I think our best years are going to be in the next season or two. And also, concerning last Friday night's game, Station Camp is in fact, the real deal, and I hope they go deep in the playoffs, but our effort and overall gameplan the other night was flat out ridiculous. Worst WH game I have ever witnessed in my many, many years of going to WH football games. Having said that, I still wouldn't trade our coaching staff for any other in the state.
-
Whatever. Congrats on a great win. White House just isn't that good this year. But as far as "BDP", when you win as many region and district championships as White House, and have a state title under your belt, THEN you can talk about how great you are as opposed to a team that has been winning for years.
