  1. LOL!!! You are crying about them being up by only 19 before the 1st half. I could see if it was the 3rd quarter. From what I have read and heard NS kicked the ball off and Humboldt had a nice return. So what is Humboldt supposed to do? Tell the returner his return was pretty much pointless and take a knee to end the half and not give the non starting QB some quality reps? I also heard Larico Coles came in the game and made NS look good on their lone TD drive. How does Humboldt's coach not know he could've played the rest of the game? With a player like Coles in the game 19 points can be easy to come by. Humboldt's coach is somewhat under the microscope. If he would've went into the half happy with a 19 point lead and Coles played the full 2nd half and made the game close his arse would still be burning right now from being on a hot seat. It's funny for someone from NS to talk about another coach from another team anyway with having such a classy guy at coach themselves.
  2. How did the radio station offend every teenager in Madison Co? What was said?
  3. Did Whitehaven look that bad or did CBHS look good? Or a little of both?
  4. Yeah Liberty Fan The Crusaders looked pretty good today, especially in the running game. Brandon Howard and Corey Moore are beast's. Markellas Price and Shaun Woodson have great speed, and Kyle Jordan is great all around. The 2nd stringers looked good as well. I am glad TCA's football program has become better, I remember a few years back they were always stepped on but I knew they would come around. They play in a pretty tuff region having to face USJ,JCS, Perry Co., and Fayette Acad.
  5. Thanks Liberty Fan. Were you at that game? Did you go to USJ earlier today? Man did Liberty's running game look good or what? Liberty's passing game really wasn't bad, you couldn't ask the DB's to get better coverage, it was just USJ's passing game made them look bad.
  6. I saw on the news where TCA beat Lake Co. 22-7. I saw where Calvin Shaw had the first run. How did he do tonight? I was an assistant on one of his Junior Pro teams a few years ago. Glad to see TCA win. That program has come a long way.
  7. Hands down JCM's Big Al Wilson. Try going for a high pass up the middle when he is around. C. Hunt from Whitehaven was also a hard hitter I remember back in the early/mid 90's.
  8. Today Liberty took on USJ in a game type scrimmage. The only things that were not game type were that there was no clock, no pickoffs, and punts were not returned. They had ref's, 1st down chains and etc. Liberty beat USJ 34-26. Brandon Howard ran well over 100 yards, Kyle Jordan also broke the century mark, Marcellas Price ran for around 50 , and Corey Moore had some runs up the middle and had around 30 yards or so. The passing game was ok for Liberty, they had one INT that was returned by USJ for a TD. Liberty's run defense was excellent. USJ passing offense was awesome in the beggining. Liberty's DB's had excellent coverage on USJ's WR's but USJ's Ryan Ross had his passes right on the money. If Ross stays healthy USJ will make some noise once again in 1A ball. Besides the one INT return and one long TD pass on one of USJ's first plays Liberty pretty much dominated the game. After having an offeseason where Liberty could work in the weight room and have some conditioning added in with having a season and offseason together they have come together as a team with a little depth and some physical players. They will not be pushed around like they were last season.
  9. My vote and goes to Kenton Evans from Memphis Westwood and nobody in a close 2nd. I guess my distant #2 goes to CBHS Brad Hill. Kenton is in the top 2 in almost every passing record of TSSAA football. Yes he did have it a little easy having Damien Dodson to throw to but he did what he needed to get Dodson the ball. Dodson will be #1 in my list when the best WR comes up.
  10. I will be there. I say Humboldt. I hope Northside leaves the game with their heads down all week. After week 0 and week 1 I wish Northside the best of luck.
  11. They have improved very much compared to last year. They played a scrimmage the first week against Chester County and Halls and looked good in the running game, a few days later they scrimmaged Lake County and Dresden. They did pretty good once again with a backup RB Kyle Jordan filling in for an injured Corey Moore, they had to have over 200 yards rushing but struggled to punch it in the endzone while in the redzone but those were scrimmage rules (4 plays when you get it in the 20 yard line). They forced around 5 fumbles against Dresden but gave up the big plays to Dresden. They have a handful of Seniors but not many, they are junior and sophmore top heavy. The leaders of the line are senior Jermaine Neeley and junior Derek Siler who has been playing Center with a broken bone in his hand. One tough individual. They also have a fiesty player in Luke Byrum who is around 5'10 170 but if you could measure playing with heart he comes in around 6'3 255. They have two beasts that can run the ball in Juniors Corey Moore and Brandon Howard and have some speedsters that will be carring the ball in Seniors Mattellis Rogers and Shaun Woodson(who recieved post season honors last season), and Junior Markellas Price(probably the fastest on the team), and also have Junior Kyle Jordan who has both power and speed. Freshman Chris Hatch a transfer from JCS will also see some action at FB. The Wr's are in rotation and carry in the plays, the 3 main WR's that will be getting reps are Senior Josh Pearson and Soph's Antwan Long and Jake Kemker. Junior Chris Taylor will pretty much be the featured TE but John Nolen will also get some plays in plus a few more will be at TE. The starting QB is Evan Johnsey and his backup is David Ray. Both are tough players. Johnsey is a great athlete which shows since he was voted the regions MVP in soccer this past season. The defense will be lead by Neely on the line, Howard at LB, Kyle Jordan, Corey Moore will be the main DE to make the big defensive plays, Woodson and Price lead the DB's. Johnsey will handle most of the kicking duties if not all of them. Pearson might punt and Taylor might do some kicking. Depth is pretty deep this year but experience is the missing key. Woodson and Moore are the verbal leaders of the team. The team will defiently be improved but the schedule is rough. Region teams include Crockett Co., McNairy Co., Southside, and Lexington,(plus Bolivar and Fayette Ware) all pretty well established programs coaching wise, plus all have a star player or two on there team. Out of region schedule teams are 4A JCM and Northside and Murray KY. They also face Humboldt. They kinda paniced in the jamboree when USJ scored quickly but once they setteled down they were making a pretty descent drive until a pass was picked off. In this game their weakness seemed to be the pass defense. They also gave up a long pass against Halls and Dresden in the two scrimmages. They will face USJ once again this Thursday and more will come about in this game against a well coached and established team with excellent athletes. I can't predict the wins and losses but I do know they won't be beat as bad as they were last year. They are coming together pretty good as a team.
  12. LOL! Nah, I think Henry Co. locker rooms are good enough for the upper class Bulldogs. I still have the up most respect for the Dog's when they are on the field and for the coaching staffs accomplishments, but will always have some disrespect for the fact about locker room excuse.
  13. QB#15 Now thats the spirit to have. Don't let the losing streak get in ya'lls heads and get a few wins this year. Good luck.
  14. Good luck to your team champdw I hate it that a team works hard all offseason, goes through hot two a days, and works hard in preseason and still can't taste the victory of success. However before Gibson Co. gets over the hump and climbs the mountain of success they need to start off getting over the mountain and climb the hump of success. J/J
  15. I know Fleming played fullback, but he also played some tailback and didn't take advantage when giving the chance. I remember he just couldn't get it going against my Gators in the Rain Bowl in Zook's debut year. If he was the best ever in the state then he shopuld've beat out the younger guys like Cedric Houston and J-Train. Yes I know they were great HS players and both are pretty good college backs but if Fleming was the best ever in TN HS then he should've beat out younger guys when he was giving the chance and yes he was giving the chance. Yes Miree did transfer to Pitt which gave Beard the chance, and what did Beard do? He took advantage of it, no I am not saying he was a SEC all RB but he was good. Also add in the equation that Onterrio Smith was kicked off UT's team giving Fleming a chance at RB. Yes Fleming was a pretty good FB, but his career was nothing compared to former UT FB's such as Shawn Bryson and even Will Barthlomew(sp?)(Opponents hated match up's against those guys )Although Fleming was an all around pretty good FB. My comment was directed to the poster who said Beard was overrated, he played against quality HS competion(unlike Fleming) and did good. He was giving a chance to play RB at Bama and he took advantage of it, unlike Fleming. Notice I did have Fleming on my list because his stats speak for themselves, but his quality of competion does not speak for itself. Same said about Tripp Tucker(who also was onmy list). Yes it is kinda unfair to compare Fleming's college career to Beard's because they played different positions. I am just curious to why the above poster thinks Santino is considered overrated?
  16. Germantown has the best staff of asst's. Some of those guys have been there for years and years, like Bobby Armbruster, Terry Austin, and Andy White. Skip Brewer started off as a Jr High coach close to 15 years ago before coming on the high School staff. Charlie White was also a long time assistant under Netherland before he took over and did an amazing job. Maybe the G-Town posters could talk more about this and how long they have been there. Guess none of them are going anywhere though, if they didn't go when Cordova and Houston started up than they are in it for the long run as assistants because I don't see White leaving for anything. G-Town posters- What keeps the asst's around? I know there is bigtime $$$ around there do they get some of the booster club money or do they just love working at such a tradition rich program?
  17. The Whitehaven game starts at 2:30 Hear Whitehaven has some good Lineman, especially Brian Rosmon. Also hear that QB Courtney Luster looks good. Was told that Graig Cooper a transfer for Melrose looked good the other night in the Jamboree. I am sure the private schools will have some great players like they usually do. Read the Commercial Appeal where East has an awesome duo of big uglies in Malcom Rawls and Dan Williams. It also talked about BHS's Mike Oher.
  18. The Lexington/McKenzie will be an awesome game.

    JCS

How can anyone predict this without them playing a real game yet? We will find out how good they are this Friday against DCA.
  20. Is Humboldt playing at home the week Milan and JCM play. What about any other Gibson Co. School? If Milan doesn't want to travel to The Rock and Northside doesn't want the game at their place too bad a non home site wasn't found so Milan wouldn't have the full home field advantage. I told myself I wouldn't beat this dead horse anymore but just had to add one more bit of $.02 worth. It's gonna be a game with two good teams playing each other, I hope both teams have a succesful year (well I know one game I want JCM to lose )
  21. Yeah it is almost a moot point now, guess JCM could've found someone else that would've played them at their place. I wonder why Northside didn't want the game at The Reservation, they let Liberty play at The Reservation until Liberty's field was done, although one of those game was against Northside but Liberty got the gate and concessions. Is JCM's band not getting concessions this year? I know they are getting gate.
  22. I'm not griping about it, JCM is not my team, I am giving an outsiders opinion about the situation.
  23. Like I said before I respect and admire Milan's program. I do however disrespect them not going to Rothrock, the excuses are poor. Every team that plays JCM in not district games plays JCM at The Rock when they have a home/home contest. A bunch of Memphis teams play in junkie stadiums that are in bad neighborhoods and teams from outside of Memphis travel and play in those stadiums. Halle isn't one of the best stadiums in the world and the Fairgrounds stadium you sometimes have your property and even life on the risk.
