  1. Sounds like this was a good one. Beech 18 Hendersonville 17 Final
  2. Yeah especially if you are turning the ball over that much.
  3. I was just thinking today how I wish I had saved or copied a bunch of the information about some local teams from that site before it went down.
  4. I went to both games. I felt like they were pretty comparable to Gallatin but stupid mistakes and penalties pushed the score out. I felt like Lebanon and Gallatin were pretty similar style, size and speed wise. I got the notion pretty quick that Mt. Juliet was the better team in that game. I felt like Mt. Juliet had clearly more skill and speed but lacked in the size department. Common opponents are usually a good indicator but sometimes matchups are everything. A team might matchup against one team better than the other. But enough talk will find out here in a bit.
  5. Like the old saying goes it takes two to tango. We got spoiled the last couple years having Lebanon and Whitwell on the schedule.
  6. The home schedule is what hurts as you have Gordy, East Robertson (minus their QB), Cascade and Jackson County. And they played an injury riddled Friendship team in week 1. I'm probably gonna go to the game against Gordy and then likely won't go to another TC game until the playoffs.
  7. I knew a guy that played for Whites Creek about 5-6 years ago and he said that they weren't good at football but that they usually played a brutal schedule and the best athletes played basketball. He said that they usually tried to throw the ball often because they were unable to run or would get behind the sticks because of penalties. I looked it up and they haven't had a winning season in nearly a decade. They went 2-9 last year. But they indeed had a brutal schedule. Westmoreland probably would have gone 2-9 with that schedule as well. Most 2A schools for that matter. They played the following teams PJP II (6-6), 5A Clarksville NW, East Nashville (10-2), Maplewood (12-2), 6A Lavergne, BGA (11-3), Stratford, Pearl Cohn (9-3) and Fairview (10-3). They beat Giles County (1-9) and Hunters Lane (0-10). Its an interesting matchup. If it were in Westmoreland I might have gone to it.
  8. It most likely is the region championship. Considering that they winner could slip up and lose another region game (not very likely) and still have the tiebreaker.
  9. I have known a couple coaches that come on here and read (not post) from time to time. But even that is mostly after the season is over, coaching searches or if something major is happening off the field.
  10. Not to nitpick a comment that is correct. But when I hear fans say that they are generally talking about passing the ball because the running game isn't working. But generally if you are unable to run the ball then the passing game isn't gonna fair any better results. I was at the Lebanon vs Station Camp game last year and the SC fans were all over the coaching staff. "Turn the playbook to page two!" and "Do we have a 3rd play we can run!" were some of the colorful comments I heard yelled at their coaches. Because they were generally just running 3 times and losing yards only to punt. Rinse and repeat. But their offensive line was getting crushed. The Quarterback would have got killed trying to pass the ball. They just were overmatched. But I think that fans just want to see teams try different things if something isn't working.
  11. They got tackled all over the field. They lost 28-7. But when they did have success it was getting to the outside. In my opinion Lebanon had more success in general on both sides of the ball against Gallatin than they did against Mt. Juliet. That doesn't necessarily mean that Mt. Juliet is better.... But I think that Lebanon matched up better with Gallatin than they did with Mt. Juliet. Lebanon also made alot more mistakes against Gallatin than they did against Mt. Juliet. Its also kinda hard to judge because Lebanon isn't that good on offense. I had heard before the season that their defense was solid but that the offense was gonna struggle. That has shown to be true so far.
  12. I guess you guys will see on Friday. I'm just going by watching both of them play Lebanon the last couple weeks. And from what I seen Gallatin was clearly the more physical football team and Mt. Juliet was clearly the faster football team. In the Lebanon vs Gallatin game they had a little success getting their RBs to the edge. In that game I remember thinking how fast Lebanon's RB looked in comparison to everybody else. I also remember Gallatin being bigger and just pushing the ball down the field. I'm not just talking about the offensive/defensive line. Even the running back and quarterback were more physical. In the Lebanon vs Mt. Juliet game Lebanon wasn't able to get to the edge. In that game I remember thinking how fast the Mt. Juliet's WR looked in comparison to everybody else. I also remember (and even heard a pair of Mt. Juliet parents talking about it) thinking that Mt. Juliet was smaller and not as physical as they have been in recent years. And I will say this.... There is a reason that Mt. Juliet ran the Wing T against Stewarts Creek and then came out against Lebanon in the spread with 3-4 WRs. My guess is that its not because they are one of the biggest/strongest teams in 6A.
  13. I've seen both teams play against Lebanon and really couldn't pick a winner in this one. Gallatin is bigger/stronger. Mt. Juliet is faster/quicker. Gallatin is better at running the ball. Mt. Juliet is better at passing the ball. It will be a good game. I think it will be important for both teams to come out and get off to a good start.
  14. I don't see it either. Have they ever gone 0-10?
  15. So how many yards did he have last night, 23? The only player for Mt. Juliet I seen put up any significant yardage was #3. How many yards did they have as a team and how many did #3 have?
  16. It was an ugly football game from an offensive standpoint. Mt. Juliet's offense was pretty much #3 Bowen. He probably had half of their offense in receiving yards. Whenever they got away from him they really had little to show for it. It will be a good game when they play Gallatin (next week?). I said it before the season that I thought they would struggle offensively. And that has been the case. Unless they can just line up and run right at somebody then they will struggle to score points. I would think that Lebanon finishes 3rd in the region with a 6-4/5-5 record. But with how they play offensively there will be a chance that they lose to somebody they should beat if they get behind early. Next week against Lavergne is a good example as they have athletes and can move the ball. But that is a game that Lebanon should win going away.
  17. What would you suggest for the classification cutoffs? Something like 1A 0-360, 2A 361-800, 3A 801-1400 and 4A +1401
  18. That is kinda where I'm at with it as well. Mt. Juliet has won the last 10 meetings by a combined score of 405-106. This game was a Mt. Juliet win 14-10 last year. But neither team is as good as they were last year. All the same I still expect a similar game this year. From what it sounds both teams played sloppy (I know Lebanon did) in week 1 and lost to good football teams. Its early in the season but its very possible that this is the region championship game. Station Camp isn't a factor. Rossview lost to Clarksville and barely beat Lavergne so they likely won't contend. Wilson Central is 2-0 but barely beat Overton last week and is unproven. Hendersonville will likely have a say.
  19. Yep after Cane Ridge they have that dreaded murders row of region foes like McGavock and Lavergne. Think about it. If they beat Cane Ridge they would have to lose several region games to not have a home playoff game. Considering they would have beat Mt. Juliet and Cane Ridge the thought of them losing games to some combination of Smyrna, Overton, McGavock and Lavergne.... Not gonna happen.
  20. This will be a good test to see how good Hendersonville is gonna be this year. If they are gonna do anything in the region then this game should be a running clock in the 2nd half.
