They are 2-2 this year with wins against clinton and powell and losses versus alcoa and heritage. They have a good QB thats been hurt and really good kicker who's already on varsity. They have a couple of decent athletes but this is probably one of the weaker grades in recent times.
Alabama kid is Matt Ramsey. He will be a senior. He played a little last year and should contribute some this year with all the attention going to Shiver Clendenon and Douglas.
Coach Ellis the Oline coach tried to get taka to play Oline last year but GQ wouldnt let him. He was one of the strongest if not the strongest on last years team.
As far as Kicker goes. The favorite to win the job was keiren webb a soccer player. He got in a bad wreck in early July and is still in Atlanta recovering. Ive heard some really good things about the upcoming freshman kicker though.
10th No skill position players really. Alot of big lineman that could be good but have horrible work ethic but starting to show a little improvement on that.
9th Not looking good so far but ill wait on the season to judge any further
8th Looking like one of the better classes to come through Maryville. Alot of them started last year as 7th graders. Some of the ones to remember out of this grade are Jacob West, Joseph Watson, Brandon Guy Nathan Miranda, and there are others but i cant think of their names
He had 30 versus the first team in the first half and the first 2 possesions the second half. Then ended up with around 170 i think. He had 6 or 7 carriers for around 70 yards on one possesion against the third string. He broke a run around 70 yards against third string after that.
Maryvilles game against alcoa drawed twice as much than the state championship game. Although its a rivalry with schools right next to each other. The TSSAA needs to improve the way they advertise there games or something.
