  1. I think Masters told Flatt that if they win a D-II title that they might splurge for some visitor seats and maybe a renovated home side as well. Hopefully, we can get those new seats in the next 7-10 years. At least we have the best basketball team in Davidson-Williamson County
  2. I like the chances of the eagles next year, but as always there will be stiff competition all over the league.
  3. weht, the name of the school is Brentwood Academy, not "Brentwood", if you want to abbreviate you can use BA. thank you. see you on friday. GO EAGLES
  4. That was in 1998. In 2001 Santanio Beard was playing for Alabama. Check your facts.
  5. Although Father Ryan has been down for a few years, they still have one more DII title than we do. This game has me worried with FR impoving every week, while we seem to have declined. I think we can sneak out a win as long as our punt unit is sound. If Lussier is smart he will be going after us in the kick game. If all goes as planned BA - 7 FR - 6.
  6. word on the street is that this is our weakest team in 15 years...is it the players or the coaching?
  7. Week in and week out you have to give snyder credit for his toughness. When Rutledge gives him the ball 20+ tiimes a game, MBA wins, when he hasnt they have lost. If Snyder get his touches it might be a long night for the Eagles. I think if Coach Flatt can take advantage of our talent and athleticism we will win this one 21 - 13.
  8. isnt this message board about football?? The girls volleyball and socccer boards are outstanding, check them out
  9. have you been able to see either team play this year, if so, which game(s)?

    DCA v. FRA

I think this is an intriguing matchup for these 2A newcomers. I think DCA dominated FRA last year, any opinions on whether or not FRA can compete this year. DCA lost a bunch of seniors, but seem to be pretty strong still. Any thoughts on either team would be great.
  11. Those of you that think that CPA has a chance dont know the difference between 2A football and Super Seven football. The Big Red will have this one in hand by halftime.

    MUS-MBA

i cant believe you take pride in second place finishes, i'm not sure what coach flatt preaches to you but i highly doubt it is to strive for silver balls, but if that is what you are going for that is great

    1. Ravenwood is a rival? Could you define rivalry for me? 2. Gain some perspective, you are 14 or 15 years old 3. You are wasting peoples time and this board space

    MUS-MBA

Byrnes, S.C. would beat any team in TN by 50. I saw the game. They are without a doubt a top 3 team in the country (if not the best), the best HS team i have ever laid eyes on and certainly the best team to play in TN from out of state. Eagles09, you are out of your element. MBA is 4-0 against us when there has been a state championship on the line. I admire your confidence, but until we claim a gold ball in D-II we dont need to be talking big on this website.

    MUS-MBA

Eagles09 is an embarrassment to B.A. with those comments. MBA is a class institution that happens to have won 5 of 8 Super Seven Titles, whereas we have won zero. Moreover MBA has won 4 of those titles by beating us. I have respect for their players and coaches and look for a great game this year between the two teams. Also, MBA handled Ravenwood pretty easily in their scrimmage whereas we won a hardfought, close game with them. Just some food for thought With regard to MBA's game vs. CPA, I think MBA will take out some frustrations on CPA and will have the game well in hand by halftime.
  16. Rankin would schedule Byrnes......in a scrimage.
  17. this should be an interesting matchup with two 1-0 teams, also Columbia Academy has won 5 in a row dating back to last season
  18. byrnes wins in a landslide, they are better athletically and are much better coached
  19. since MBA beat Ryan twice in '98 the game hasnt been nearly as heated with MBA even handily defeating the Irish 55-12 in the '99 game at Dudley Field. Maybe the new Ryan coach can restore some pride in the program and help Ryan become a player in the rivalry. For the past 9 years ('95-'04) the MBA/BA game has been the best rivalry in the state. With numerous games having state championship implications.
  20. Since 1997 MBA has won the state championship in both instances where in the previous they failed to do so(see '98 and '02)...
  21. As a longtime BA alum and fan I have the utmost respect for the MBA program. They have consistently had the best football program in Tennessee since 1995 while claiming state championships in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, and 2003 with 3 of those games being very impressive victories. This year they will be a favorite to win the Division II-AAA state title and have possibly the best team in Tennessee. Although Byrnes may have an excellent team I suspect superior MBA coaching and discipline will prevail in a hotly contested game.
  22. What is the latest news hear? Why did their old coach leave? Who are the candidates? Do they have any players coming back?
  23. I have your answer, its not reclassification, its a new coach. Our only offense tonight came on a special team play and on a long run. We could never sustain a drive. With the level of talent that we possess I just expect more. Maybe we dont have the same players as we did in the 80's and 90's or maybe the competition is tougher. Either way, we are being outcoached in the new millenium. The best offense that we have showcased in the past 6 years came when Tom Moore had a say in it.
  24. I think the problem is that Flatt has a case of the Ron Zook's, he can get the players, he just cant produce on the field. He might have the record for most wins in TN, but he also may have the record for most losses in the Clinic Bowl.
  25. I couldnt agree more, I've been disappointed with the BA performances in recent clinic bowls. At least Tom Moore kept the clinic bowl respectable. Maybe we should bring him back. As an alum from a previous generation, I think Flatt needs to go. The fact that he didnt kick a field goal at the end of the first half is unbelievable. Where's the creativity on offense? MUS had a diverse and exciting game plan. This wasnt the first time Flatt was outcoached in a Clinic Bowl. Maybe we should be playing the BGA's of the world.
