  1. Me personally would love for the Nashville squads to represent the big private school championship game. But that would be me thinking with my heart and not my brain. All that said, I do expect both these games to be really tight. I wish we had a NFL Redzone type of chanel that flipped back and fourth with all these great D2 games in all 3 divisions. Great night of football ahead of us tonight.
  2. D2AAA Championship In Chattanooga will feature the 2 home teams from Chattanooga. Borders win tonight My Friend.
  3. A lot of good 4A football teams left in the playoffs. Very deep division this year. I think Marshall Co wins this one tonight.
  4. I think Covington comes out on top in round 2 of this high powered battle. But I know that there will be a lot of points scored. If you think either team is scoring less than 35 points then you haven't seen what these 2 teams have done all year. Gimme Covington to win 49-45.
  5. I had no idea Kentucky, or any other state, did that in the playoffs. Such a great idea. Almost every year the 2 best teams in a division meet before the championship game. TSSAA would never adopt this though.
  6. You're 100% right my friend. This is the recipe to championship/ successful teams. There's not a lot of programs out there like this anymore. Maryville is definitely one of them. So I agree, Maryville wins this one by 17+ because of its Culture, Discipline, and Weight Room values, even though Bearden hands down has better athletes/talent.
  7. West, OR, Page, & Beech win this week. OR and East Ham is the toughest one to pick with OR playing inconsistent all year. Page, Beech, and Shelbyville are the 3 best teams in 5A. But only one can represent at the state championship from their side of the bracket.
  8. West wins this one by 10-15 points. They're home, they have more athletes, and much more playoff experience, which is a big factor at this time of year. The Rebs keeps rolling to the Semis where they'll face a lesser opponent than they face in the quarters.
  9. Morristown is a great place?!?! 🥴 I know you're just trying to be nice but that's a big stretch my friend. There is nothing about Morristown that would entice someone to come coach there. Now Lakeway does have incredible facilities, a big paycheck, and a good private-christian education for kids, which I have learned is pretty important to some coaches. There's just no athletes to recruit in that area.
  10. Greeneville will win by 25+ AC will win by way more than 30+ Other score predictions will be pretty close.
  11. Sounds like something a team would do if they were playing against a talented kid like Eric Gray..... 🙂
  12. MAV's gonna be shooting alot of fireworks tonight. They win big against a down year Elizabethton team.
  13. I've heard Lipscomb Academy. But they already have a really good middle school QB thats coming in.
  14. And even after those 2 they gotta get past Upperman.. As I said before, hats off to them them if they can rack off 3 consecutive playoff wins to those teams.
  15. It sucks but it's the truth, officiating crews can definitely effect the outcome of games. Officiating across the state has been horrendous for years. I talk to coaching buddies from all over TN on Friday nights after games and bad officiating is always a topic of discussion. When I see certain crews at certain games, I already know what to expect. Sad
  16. Turning the ball over 5 times and still winning is very impressive. But I wouldn’t refer to a 5 turnover game as “playing their best ball of the year right now”.
  17. I'd say Alcoa is the only team out of those making it to Chattanooga. Bearden and Maryville have to go through each other and then the winner will get destroyed by Oakland. Powell either loses this week to SC or next week to West. And if AC beats Elizabethton, Greeneville, and then Upperman, in 3 consecutive weeks, then hats off to them but i'll be a little surprised. And West only beat Halls by 1 point just 3 weeks ago... But at the end of the day, we can agree, West is definitely more battle tested then most teams in the state. Lamar Brown aint scared to schedule anybody. Lets see how it all plays out!
  18. Well let's see how it goes this year. These aren't the same West or Powell teams from previous years.
  19. I agree it prepares you well in the future for when you face some adversity in tough games. And if I was scheduling a season I would try to put 2 or 3 really tough games on the schedule to help prepare my team for the playoffs. Even if you lose 1-2 of those games, it's good experience. But at the end of the day the better team is gonna win more times than not, no matter who they played previously. I've been apart of numerous championship teams that had reeeeeeeally weak schedules. The better team won those championship games.
  20. OR will struggle to make the playoffs every year. A playoff birth will be the a successful season.
