  1. CBG Some might misinterpret the silence on this page regarding your question as an endorsement for the above mentioned d1 teams; however I regard the sound of crickets as evidence none of the D1 homers in SE TN want to face the facts. Facts are Cleveland is down Bradley is on the rise ane ia by no doubt the dominant lone superpower in d1. That said the top 3 teams in d2 would challenge Bradley in a match and trade tournament, can't say that about the proportionate number of d1 teams ( prob equating to the top 9 programs in d1) let alone the literal real number of teams (esp if u take Cleveland and soddy out). Sorry is what it is; I hypothesized that Rutherford Williamson Sumner and Wilson county might eventually supercede The stronghold that b Bradley county has had on d1 AAA wrestling, but they haven't. Why, because of resources? not necessarily (these affluent counties have money and parent support), it is lack of a feeder program and the fact Bradley county is an open zone school system (d2 recruiting gone public; outside of wrestling Maryville and alcoa have reaped the rewards off this system. Digressing; we will find out at the Cleveland tourney but I would wager this yr an out of state team & a d2 team will comprise Tue finals of that tourney
  2. Coach, yours is an admirable effort not only for giving back to a program in a dire context but doing so at 70 yrs young. I might he able to help out in regards to the shoe situation; please give me 48-72 hrs and I will get back to you thru email &/or phone. Regarding the rest of the coacht community; I think it is p$ss poor that no one else has publicly offered support to this gentleman on this thread (hopefully efforts have been made off this medium to do so)! It isn't like PC is asking for a major donation for new mats or to hyperboliZe; an endowment to build a palace to rival the château on Norwood. It is a simple request by a selfless coach in a resource starved system to procur the basics. Efforts like these are crucial to preserving and growing the sport.
  3. Catholic ought to move to D2 play the big boys
  4. Again great redneck theatrics; but my primary question concerning open zone recruitment hasn t been answered albeit mentioned. I guarantee a united Williamson or Rutherford team would have their way with the Rebs
  5. Honestly wouldn't expect you to appreciate nor understand that metaphor; digressing why isn't Mary ville's open zone recruitment ever discussed? BA, Ensworth, MBA, and Maryville all recruit; some I guess are better than playing that game than others. I will stand by my statement east tn's time has passed; the demographics and coaching has fermented middle tn as the dominant area in 6a ball
  6. Or should I say the rebels are parked out front of Appomattox courthouse whatever metaphor works
  7. Maryville's (and for that matter Alcoa's) utility of open zone recruitment in their respective districts has aided their previous successful ventures. That said the present and future power of 6A football no longer rests in the palms of the public/private entities that have benefited from this gimmick; however it resides in middle tn in Rutherford and Williamson counties. Metaphorically the top D2 AA programs are comparable to NASA while Marysville is on the level of North Korea; just saying they aren't even the best in 6A anymore
  8. Wish BA and Ensworth would play to their enrollment; USJ couldn't even sniff a title if that were the case (I believe BA enrolls 300ish). TSSAA waters the prize...
  9. Conclusions regarding 1st week
  10. You have to be joking, "when I get out of line?" The final line of your original response to my post was unequivocally contrary to the general atmosphere normally fostered on this website. You seem to be the common denominator in the turbulent posts that are on the board; and your inept response when called out is to claim the poster is simply "over- sensitive". Admittedly my post was out of context but your response in regards to that context exposes your true combative nature. Your 220 lb response was obviously not meant to be constructive in any way shape of fashion, as illustrated by another poster first. For future reference if your going to plagiarize and contort my own verbiage against me, please exert the effort to have a minimal understanding of what those words mean, it would serve to benefit you in the future and might camouflage your ignorance (and you never know the local golden arches my promote you to the drive through window for your efforts)
  11. Yea, perhaps he can ring your cowbell for you!
  12. Yea Perfuct, I will discuss your seemingly bizarre, taboo-oriented man love for the "cat"! I am sure bearcat is busy scouting the often-spoken-of, yet still unobtainable fruit possessed by the "mommies of the purple Irish", while contra positively you seek a lonely post on this board! My unfurled advice to you is to seek out alternative websites to complete this objective, free of charge; while allowing the cat to enjoy his semi-retirement & futile attempts to seduce the mothers on Norwood.
  13. Seems to me like the teams that are presently attending will serve as punching bags for Gibss. Which seems somehow appropriate as an appetizer for Gibb's region schedule in which they should dispatch with with relative ease. Too bad the rest of the state is not as an inadequate as East Tn in terms of talent or coaching or else Gibbs might have a shot to win a single match at state duals or else place top 5 at the state tournament!
  14. This is a very refreshing attempt to ammend an inep rule that has served as one of the primary constraints holding back the sport in the state. That said, I am less than optimistic that the rule wil be changed. The TSSAA cares only about its bottom line, it is unlikely they are going to go out of their way on this issue if it doesn't somehow benefit that objective. It is however worth a shot with since "King" Ronnie has abdicated his throne.
  15. Yep, that's Wilson Central for you.......the Harvard of Wilson County, stop tooting your sons horn for him and let his actions speak on the mat. Anyone that knows anything about national high school wrestling knows that Nhsca is not what it once was, flo is the place to be now. How many matches did it take for him to get to the finals of the Nhsca tourney 3 or 4 at best? All I am going to say is better hope tj satterfield doesn't go heavyweight next year because he will look like a fish out of water just like he did this year in folk style and free style. Btw what is your hwt clinic going to consist of stalling technique and head throws......
  16. Fankly.....does it matter
  17. I have had numerous sources this year who have witnessed SBA and "Lame"ers at various tournaments that have told me it that both in general wrestle really dirty. One of my buddies that was present at the Father Ryan tourney said that he saw SBA's 138 fish hook one of the Bellets from MBA numerous times during a bout, while a similar complaint was levied against "Lame"ers by another wrestle. These first hand accounts of fragrant misconduct along with the six shooter incident (which my buddy said there looked to be no denouncement/apology of any kind by the SBA coaching staff to Frank Simpson) by someone I trust seems to suggest that SBA wrestling has availed itself to a bad reputation. I blame such this on a lack of discipline, which is one of the primary responsibilities of the coaching staff. I dont know if it is just me but the SBA wrestling team seems to exude a large deal of arrogance, when in reality there dual meet schedule has been marginal at best, which was exposed in 60-15 beatdown by CBHS?
  18. In Hoc, your assessment seems quite accurate in regards to the "exponential" rate of the growth of tn wrestling, though I do think it will take time for the folks that draw the national rankings to recognize the talented individuals and teams the state has to offer. The problem is the lack of depth in TN high school wrestling, there are only a handful of teams in the state that could handle ranked opponents in other states.
  19. It seems like this year has been a rough patch for the Bear from Bradley County this season from a dual perspective. They have accured a series of both close wins or losses and uneven losses with the former coming against opponents they would normally beat fairly well handedly such as Chatt. Central and the latter coming against perrenial powehouses such as Cleveland and Father Ryan. My question is, w/ the amount of resources distributed to their in-county archrival Cleveland, which I attribute as being the factor in getting talented kids to choose to go to that institutiion instead of Bradley, is this years below par performance (for this particular program) only a statistical outlier, or is it due to become the trend of the future for the time being?
  20. In all of my years of following TN high school wrestling I have never seen the disparity between the horses in the stables in D-II and their counterparts in the so-called "man" division. I realize that the top tier D-II teams usually whip up on local D-I competition, since most of these teams have little i the way of depth, but usually they have at least two or three kids that can hold their own, but now it seems that even the elite D-I programs are struggling. Here are my predictions in each weight pitting the top D-I kids from this weeks ranking against the top D-II kid using the latest week 6 tenn wrestling federation rankings: 106-D-II 113-D-I 120-D-II 126-D-II 132-D-II 138-D-I 145-D-II 152-D-II 160-D-II 170-D-I 182-D-II 195-D-I 220-D-I HWT-
  21. Though i would enjoy giving props to those TN guys that have the heart to expend the resources that alllow them to compete in the offseason and therefore become winter champions. But why does Tn bring the most watered down talent to these national fors? WhoL is this worthwein kid and why did he go to super 32? This is the quintessential problem with TN wrestling; all of the good kids choose not to attend great tournaments like this, which is their own loss. But why are there unqualified kids like this (one that hasn't even placed at the state tournament) representing our state. Surely TN can do better. Where are the studs at, even though Chatt Town was somewhat well represented at this event they should develop a better system to get these guys out! CBG if south Florida hasn't fried your brains with the sun or the noon margaritas give me an answer. Why do bottom caliber kids like this worthwein fellow even bother with these tournaments. Bradley we don't rebuild, we reload!
  22. I thought surly since central won the catholic tournament earlier in the season they would be THE team to beat this year
  23. Who cares,a buddy of mine went to the tourney and said the wrestling there was sub par at best, even for Knoxville.
  24. Funny I never heard of "gerogia", but I think ANIMAL rightfully deserves more respect than you gave him in your last post.....
