  1. High school is on a different plane. Best reason is I know the kid's (most of) families...went to school with a bunch of grandparents, and the rest are neighbors, acquaintances, and just people I recognize from day to day activities. Nothing like having a personal interest in seeing the kids growing up from week to week, and year to year.
  2. You must have had the crew that worked our game last week...36 flags, over 350 penalty yards, three ejections, and the game wasn't over until after 10:00 because of "conferences" between officials. At one point the white hat (he was the problem) was on his phone for ten minutes while the teams were standing on the field, White hat and one other official threw almost every flag in the game. I'd be happy if we NEVER saw that crew again.
  3. In '15 Liberty made the simi's, and in 16 they got the silver ball...in the seven seasons since they have totaled 5 wins so far and are working on their fourth consecutive winless season. Not trying to be funny, it's sad for the kids. JMCSS literally and figuratively pulled the rug out from underneath a proud (if young) program by not funding athletics or supporting their coaches. Liberty had the world by the tail by being labeled a "Magnet School" within the boundaries of a large city, and able to pull (recruit) kids from all over the county. A long list of great coaches left Liberty from lack of support after playing for and winning state championships in multiple sports. JCM has now replaced Liberty as the jewel in JMCSS's crown, but has already had setbacks over coaches salary disputes with two legendary coaches packing their stuff and cutting ties... remains to be seen if they have learned (or care) from their mistakes.
  4. Looking for the pressure cooker...sometimes that crow is tough to chew down.
  5. It ain't how many times you get knocked down...it's how many times you get up.
  6. Your money ain't no good here BPM, but that's a suckers bet!
  7. My granddaughter helps 'em out occasionally in the concession stand...I'll have her running sprints and chugging gatorade all week. Second thought, maybe I'll suggest a vacation for her!
  8. 0-28, but I'm not there...Listening to the Panthers & Stanks on 100.9 and monitoring everyone else on the 'T
  9. Heard that Blakes had a couple of waitresses go down with injuries...one pulled hamstring, and one in the tent taking fluids!
  10. Mount Pleasant is a 5,000 piece jigsaw puzzle! I've never seen a close second to how hard to figure they are...athletes all over the field, one game they look like world beaters and the next they look like a playground team with no coaching whatsoever. They're big, physical, fast, and mean. They've beaten down some very good teams, then get embarrassed by mediocre ones.
  11. Big game that dictates advantages down the road...nobody's letting out anything! I'm close enough that I often hear things that aren't made public, but not this week. If I had to guess, I'd say that Riverside's #1 back is ready to go...he's been back on the defensive side of the ball, and if injured I wouldn't think that they'd risk hampering recovery. No point thus far in wearing him out (even if TCA scared them) on both sides of the ball, until they really need his services...tonight they need his services on offense.
  12. I think one thing determines how this goes...Westview's ability to block the Trojan's front seven. The Chargers aren't spectacular, they just get the job done by throwing to who's open, and running when the defense has to over commit to stopping the passing game. If D'burg can get after the QB without letting him get loose running it may be a long night for the home team. If Westview's QB has time he will make the throws and if he sees daylight he can hurt you with his legs, but if neither happens Dyersburg's physicality will grind (no pun intended) and wear on the Chargers until they take complete control from mid third quarter forward. The only thing that could change that would be a couple of quick strike scores early in the game from turnovers or a blown coverage. Dyersburg's offense and Westview's defense look to be relatively even, but if Dyersburg can get a few first downs and get rolling, the defense could be in the same boat as the offense as far as stamina.
  13. And the parent/guardian should understand that COC principals and beliefs will be taught along with 'readin, riting', and rythmatic. I also believe that if you apply for a position with a religious based school, you should subscribe to whatever religion is directly responsible for the existence of the school. Not solely on the applicant, but more so on the Headmaster and Board of Directors to assure that the faculty's beliefs align with the schools affiliation and Mission Statement.
  14. Baffling to me how there's even a debate? LA is a church funded private school, who's mission statement describes Lipscomb Academy as a religious based "community"...makes no sense to enroll there if you don't subscribe to their beliefs, or are at least open to their curriculum.
  15. Don't need him to take care of Dillon/East Dillon, and Moxon was the MAN anyway.
  16. West Canaan Coyotes would donkey stomp E.D.
  17. Not directed at any one person in particular, just noting the fact that this thread is 5 pages long with multiple comments about the legality of his eligibility...didn't hear any of that before he left. Since you felt implicated enough to reply to an open ended question, maybe I threw it against everyone's wall and it stuck in your kitchen...if not, then read nothing into it for I assure you that I had no individual in mind when I posted.
  18. Food for thought. If everyone was OK with him coming in, why so butthurt when he left? Like the guy who stole someone else's wife trashing her for cheating on him.
  19. Y'all aint seeing the big picture. Liver issues, hereditary, speech/writing patterns, and that alternate reality mess that he/she believes... plain 'ol drunk.
  20. I guarantee you that Roy wouldnt fall for this mess...putting them circle fly people on the schedule would make him real mad. You think im joking, but im not.
  21. The only issues are with the system where he attends school. Each system sets their own standards for attendance, zoning, busing, and eligibility. TSSAA only gets involved when their own eligibility rules are broken, and if HSSD says he good to attend while living in Camden, he's good with TSSAA unless he's receiving benefits or has transferred in while having a participation record at another school within the last 12 months.
  22. Their enrollment number is at 639, which is well down in 3A...they already play up a class.
