  1. Will they remain a 3A sized school when the new enrollment numbers come out next August or will they make the jump and be placed with their area schools? Which school/schools did Liberty Creek draw from when it opened?
  2. The pregame music lineup at Pearl-Cohn and East Nashville tonight should be worth the prices of admission. Merle Haggard Waylon Jennings David Allen Coe Willie Nelson George Jones Randy Travis George Strait and a special performance by the one and only.....Hank Williams Jr.
  3. The teams in this region were very young this year. When you look at what the teams return in 2024 you have to believe that everyone will be excited about the new season that awaits. Congrats to all of the seniors on finishing their high school playing days and best wishes to all of them on the futures that await them all. I hope that I do not miss anyone with this post. If I do please let me know so that I can edit it. 4. Play Stupid Games.....Win Stupid Prizes
  5. Maryville will have all of their basketball players on the court when the season tips off this upcoming week.
  6. Henry County has had a great season as always. I just don't see them beating Southwind.
  7. Oakland defeats the region champion Warriors and marches on to the semifinals. I'll say something like 38-14 sounds right.
  8. Question For Giles County Fans: Giles County has had a lot of success since getting moved into the Chattanooga area quadrant of the playoffs now for 3 years. I remember at first that Giles County actually appealed the move when they were placed in their region. If they are successful next week and win this game they'll have gone 9-0 in Rounds 1, 2, and 3 of the postseason during that time. Does Giles County prefer to remain in their current region or do they prefer to be moved back to the Metro-Nashville region with the MNPS programs?
  9. Good Luck to the East Robertson Indians in this contest.
  10. I remember how spectacular the band was at Pearl-Cohn (and other MNPS schools) once upon a time and the instant energy that was created throughout the stadium when they came marching in. Growing up as a kid in Cheatham County (before there was a Sycamore High School) those were the teams that the Cubs were paired with in the old Regions 5-4A and 6-4A in 1993-1996 and then again from 1997-2000. I played at Sycamore and graduated in the first class (2002) but I remember when I was younger going to games and going to my brother's games during those days. Pearl-Cohn, Whites Creek, Stratford, Maplewood, Antioch, Hillwood, Hillsboro, and Overton were all in those two regions along with a lot of schools from Robertson, Sumner, Rutherford, Williamson, and Montgomery Counties. Going to the playoffs back in those days was a feat in itself.
  11. I'm calling Coach Brunetti tonight and requesting David Allen Coe's greatest hits next Friday at 6:10 for about 50 minutes prior to kickoff.
  12. Lipscomb and Goodpasture didn't play this year for the first time in forever and now both jobs are vacant.

  16. In all of the classes there were regions whose playoff representatives stood out against other regions last week. In 3A this was no exception: Region 2 went 3-1 versus Region 1 Region 3 and Region 4 split 2-2 Region 5 went 3-1 versus Region 6 Region 7 went 4-0 versus Region 8
  17. Oakland's road to another 6A state championship will include trips to Mt. Juliet, Riverdale, and a trip to East-TN for Thanksgiving. That regular season Riverdale loss was the best thing that could have happened to them. They saw evidence on the field that they were actually capable of losing to an in-state opponent. It reared its ugly head at the beginning of the Ravenwood game but many thought that was just an accidental beginning and that it wouldn't ever happen again. When they were up 17-0 versus Riverdale I'm sure that some didn't believe it was possible, especially if it wasn't against some Division II Private School. Now that it has happened and they've been "bitten" they have experienced what it's like to lose.
  18. Congratulations to Fairview on winning their 8th game of the season and reaching the second round of the playoffs. Good luck to the Jackets in the round of 16 this Friday night.
  19. Mawae was simply the scapegoat in this whole ordeal. Lipscomb will hire another name and his job will be to come in and pull in the best talent he can find. It's the expectation from the powers that be.
  20. Good luck to Huntingdon the rest of the way.
