I really don't think the QB has ever blamed the OL. They did a great job in pass protection this last year. I really think holding the ball a little bit longer and taking a sack may have been better than throwing an INT as in years past. Maybe he will learn to throw the ball away quicker when no one is open. If there were giant holes open this last year for running backs to go through, I'm sure any coach would have exploited that. I did not see these gapping holes in the middle that running backs could get through. I'm sure that some of the backs bumped it outside too soon, but not because of the fear of getting hit. Maybe thye just did not see the gaps in then line or think they had the speed to get outside. The team should have won a couple of more games last year but the breaks did not fall to our side. At least it was better than 2013 when they should have won at least 4 more games that came down to coaching issues and disipline, BTW, I really don't think the QB and running backs this last year were afraid to take a hit as they took more than their share.

Build 3 more schools so all schools in Rutherford can play in 5A and pray Maryville doesn't drop down there with their 1,550 enrollment. Or better yet, why not have a state classification for just Rutherford schools, TSSAA may go for it and they will win a state championship.

Why not use this? it is better than the top 32. TSSAA is clueless!!

WC over Coffee 2-1 in 14. Great pitching by both teams. Coffee pitching looks good this year, 4 hitter for 14, WC gave up 7 or 8 hits, Good game, hate someone had to loose a game like this.

The people who say that certain players were played because of who they are is ridiculous. I really don't think that any of the boys that played quite a bit are from wealthy or affluent families. I think for the most part, the best players were on the field. Maybe some were used too much and not given enough breaks or rest during the game. Anyone who says the coach played people he was told to does not know much about high school football or this team. The past major donors to the coach fund don't even have kids or relatives that even play football.

I know it can be tough losing to DeKalb in some sports, but it happens. Things could be alot worse, we could live there.

Club soccer makes a big difference in the girl's play. It does take some extra money and a large commitment from the player and parents. My daughter does and loves it. She quit softball to do it, but had no regrets. The biggest issue I find in the rural schools is that over half of the team will have girls that play multiple sports at the school. They can't fit in club soccer as it conflicts with basketball or softball. I know it is an issue in our area and surrounding counties. If they play AAU basketball or travel softball, it can be expensive also. I do budget this as it is not cheap, but not overly expensive. I sometimes use a tournament weekend as a vacation, but the girls might not see it that way! It is worth it to watch her play and improve, but I know not everyone can afford it or find a team to play on. Just my 2 cents.

Don't think you heard the head coach cussing the officials, he doesn't do that. On the other hand many fans there were.

0-0 end of regulation. 0-0 after two ten minute overtimes. Winning goal came on a corner kick follow up with less than 2 minutes left in first sudden death 5 minute OT. I usually don't care for defensive games, but this was a great game for two offensive minded teams. A shame one team had to lose. MC attacked more but couldn’t find the back of the goal. WC defense and goalie were pretty good.

I didn't see Warren County on McMinn County schedule. Did they cancel it? They did play McMinn Central though.

They didn't want to play a district tournament game? Isn't this what you play for during the regular season? Maybe they should play in a rec league or eliminate the program. Coach and AD should be ashamed. Guess they are proud of their regular season record! I just don't get it.

Stop this post, it is not helping anything. I think the coaches want to win as much as the players and their parents. They see these kids in practice every day and know what their strengths and weaknesses are. They are putting the best kids on the field that can give us the opportunity to win. For what ever reason, we keep having bad things happen on the field; turnovers, missed blocks, missed assignments, injuries, etc. I don't know what the answer but it's not parents touting their kids or putting down others. They can still win some games. Give them some support and don’t post negative things here. The kids read this and it doesn’t help anything.

What's next on the CCS excuses? Planets misaligned, voodoo curs, West Nile Virus affected the goalie, players had a physics test 48 hours before the game. Give me a break. The rural middle Tennesse team needs some credit for being pretty good. Two starters were not even there for the tournament.

Heard that Warren County beat Linclon County 21-14. Only score I know of.

Cookeville may be the best all around team in the state. One game to decide who advances in this one is hard to call. In a 3 game series, I'd give it to Cookeville but it's not. Hard to call.

You can get by on pure athleticism and conditioning in soccer and football to be above average. It takes eye hand coordination, repetitive drills and knowledge of the game to be good in baseball. Desire and drive are the most important in all of them though to be better than the rest.

We still rule in softball & girls basketball!! We will get the edge in baseball this year again and football this fall. CC rules!
