  1. two point conversion good. 28 to 0 York.
  2. 26 to 0. York leads Oneida. 9 seconds left in first half.
  3. 6:24 left in 2nd. 20 to 0 York.
  4. End of first. York up 14 to 0.
  5. Regional championship sites are awarded at least a year in advance. How do you tell a host that they will, in fact, not be hosting the semis and final? It takes preparation to host a tournament like these.
  6. The head coaching job at Scott County has come open.
  7. Does the Monterey loss to Bledsoe have any impact on the region standings?
  8. 42 to 38 Karns. #8 for Karns has 256 rushing yards so far.
  9. game is on myvlt. Karns leading. Second half.
  10. Would love to know how the 30 to 28 York victory occurred. Intentional delay? Poor play? Low FG percentage? Maybe someone who attended can shed some light.
  11. Is Hardy Memorial a private? I thought all privates were in a separate division.
  12. Is it possible that this was a financial decision? Small school, limited budget, expensive trip, little likelihood of success.
  13. Is Oneida a common opponent to both? That might give some insight to the outcome.
  14. Ft. Thomas Highlands Bluebirds 10 - 3 last year Lost to Covington Catholic twice (second time badly , 36 - 0, I think) Final game was quarter-finals of 5A playoffs. (The CovCath team) My coaching friend from Corbin says that they are not the power that they once were.
  15. Not since Kyle Keeton will you get to see a Scott High freshman this good. Starting point guard. He is the one who hit the winning shot against AE. A 35 foot jumper. Get a chance, go watch them. They are entertaining.
  16. Would Coach Jones's buy-out amount restrict the salary of a new coach, or are there enough moneyed supporters to take care of that?
  17. Spoke with my friend from Corbin (on the football staff there during the mid-70's to the early 90's). He said from his view, the pass interference penalty at the end of regulation probably should not have been called. But you never know what an official thinks he saw.
  18. Went the other way tonight. Stone takes the win at SHS.
  19. Don't know about the outcome of the game, but I'd guess that the vast majority of Corbin's fans have never heard of CoachT.
  20. Maybe it's like college. The better coach makes more money. Ya reckon?
  21. I am going to guess that many of you on here are too young to remember a time when this state did not have a playoff system at all. Play 10 games and maybe a bowl if you had a good enough season. When the playoffs started in the 70's, I asked our coach how he felt about it. He hated it!!! I asked him why and he said," it'll just end up getting a bunch of coaches fired'. He didn't want someone else telling him who he could play. He felt more games led to more injuries. And he thought that after 7 or 8 games, the kids were getting tired, bored, uninterested in the game. I asked him why the Association was installing a playoff system, his answer was," Huh, same reason for just about everything, MONEY." He explained that the association was looking to establish an income to supplement the basketball money AND that the football powerhouses were griping about not being able to put a schedule together. If they put the schools into classes and districts those powerhouses would have most of their schedule filled. He bemoaned the idea of several of the old natural rivalries dying. A great number of the things he told eating lunch together in his office have come to be. More later.
  22. Spike and todd, I think what the part about "flipping the regions..." (if that was your question) means that the winners of region 1 go on to face the winners of region 3. also the winners from region 2 would play the winners from region 4. Did I get that correct?
  23. If you check the "scores" button you will see that we not only play NA on Nov. 4, we are also playing Chatt ND the same night. Somebody's computer is messed up or the wrong data was entered. Pretty sure we go to NA and not Notre Dame.
  24. I am trying to decide between attending the SHS/McMinnCent game or this one, so I shall seek help from the Coalfield folks. There was a young man I went to college with name of Doug Lowe in the late 60's early 70's. He was from Coalfield as I remember. Does he live in/near there any more? Is he likely to attend the game? We were friends and team-mates and I'd like to see him again. If he is likely to be at this game, I think I would try to find him. Otherwise I'll probably go to the game at Scott.
