  1. No worries. I was just hoping someone from up there would have some info. Thanks.
  2. How have Fritz & Jennifer Sullivan from Bearden fared against each other when Maryville has played Bearden?
  3. Baylor isn’t bad when they have all their players there. They played a few games without several girls, including at least their best 2 players. Girl going to Wake Forrest is legit (obviously).
  4. Would be great to see Bradley vs Stone in finals this year. If Walker hadn’t been hurt last year, would have been a great rematch , if COVID hadn’t happened...
  5. It’s been 6+ years since BC lost a district game... (not sure any have even been close in 4th quarter, including 10-12 games vs last year’s Miss Basketball).
  6. If Williams had not been hurt, Cleveland might have had a chance to beat Bradley this yea, but I’m not sure who can replace her points now. Besides Blair, who are Cleveland’s key players this year? Is Joy Douglass playing? Is she playing VB in college?
  7. I believe Kara Williams (& Muhonnen from BCHS) have signed with Lee University.
  8. That was an amazing game, WV defeating #1 seed Oak Ridge with Tee Higgins & crew.
  9. Who are the big financial backers there?
  10. I don't disagree if there were only the two 5-5 teams, but since there were multiple teams at 5-5 for the final spot(s), head to head for all those teams isn't possible. They had to follow the formula that was in place since before the season started, and Cleveland coaches knew they weren't in the playoffs after the loss to Rhea Co.
  11. It looks like if TSSAA got Sullivan South correct the first time, then Knox Powell would have gone to Quad 2, and Sull South as a #8 would have travelled to Morristown West. Sending a highly ranked Powell to Q2 after the brackets were released would have created a huge uproar to the other Quad 2 teams (although it would be the right thing to do). The person who has handled this with the most class is Cleveland coach Ron Crawford. Tonight's paper said it is the first time in 17 years he hasn't been in the playoffs, but he also said that they knew that they had to win one of their last two games, including week 10 vs. a 1-8 Rhea County team. He said he is already working to make sure that it doesn't happen again, and I believe it.
  12. Now that would be ironic... Coach Slaughter keeping the Raiders out of the playoffs... I had heard they were in win or lose, so this will be interesting.
  13. Walker Valley makes playoffs and Cleveland doesn't? Wow! Are you pretty positive of that?
  14. Does Cleveland lead the state in penalties? (not trying to be smart or jab, but they seem to have 150+ yards of penalties every game). Didn't see game or hear how many penalty yards they had tonight, but guys on FM 104.1 were saying that penalties killed them again tonight. They would have beat Bradley last week if they could have held it to just 100 or so yards in penalties. I'm surprised because I've met Coach Crawford and I like him a lot and I think he will lead Cleveland to a great future. I'm a little surprised he tolerates all the penalties.
  15. Is there a reasonable scenario where someone else in the East will qualify and bump Boyd to Q2, or is it for sure that they will be in Q1? What teams do you have on your 'bubble'?
  16. It's real difficult. Silverdale received the 11th most votes in the last poll. This past Friday, #'s 8, 9 & 10 lost. Open teams move up every single week in college football polls. It isn't that complicated.
  17. Marion shouldn't have any trouble with Chattanooga Christian.
  18. Austin Sanders - Bradley Central. See video above. First commitment to UT for class of 2013.
  19. Thanks this info is helpful.
  20. My understanding is that Silverdale goes to Playoffs automatically for finishing 2nd in the District IF they beat Grace (Chattanooga) Friday night. Is that correct? Also, been told that Silverdale has an outside shot of going to playoffs if they lose to Grace Friday. Does anyone know what has to happen in this scenario? I don't have time to keep up with it. Thanks!
  21. I know nothing about Marion County, but I saw Chattanooga Christian play earlier this year. They are much better than their 2-6 record indicates, playing Polk Co., Signal Mountain, Boyd Buc, etc. I predict 40-10, CCS.
  22. I coached one of these fine QB's in rec league football and know the other from coaching against him and at church. I will tell you that they are both even better young men than they are football players (and they are elite FB players).
  23. I agree on nominating Caleb Houston, the Senior punter from Walker Valley. I believe the Chattanooga Times Free Press shows him leading the Chattanooga area in punting by a few yards. Last week, the Bradley crowd 'gasped' out loud on his first booming punt. I think it went over 50 yards in the air and probably would have rolled for 20 more yards if Bradley's returner didn't try to catch it. On the 2nd punt, Bradley coaches were telling the returner to scoot back and he still had to run back after he punted it. I have attended at least one game every weekend for the last several years and he is by far the most dominant punter I have seen. I also attend every UT home game, and I would almost guarantee he is averaging more yards than UT's "#1 in the nation" punting recruits (Palardy and Darr). I guess that should be on another thread (haha!)
