  1. I had a player do O-D Bowl series a few years ago. He paid to to go down. Trust me, its a pay to play. It's a showcase camp setting with a game at the end. Similar to 7 on 7 tournaments except it is full contact. My guy went down to New Orleans for a regional "bowl" and I assure you he paid to play. It's a scam. The top performers from the game, then are selected to go on to other bowl. No different from the Under Armor Baseball Factory and other events. I'd be willing to be that OD sends out thousands of emails and the ones that cut the checks are "selected". There's a reason it has no validity.
  2. I'm not sure the 0-D All Star Game constitutes an all star game being that it is open to anyone willing to write a check. If it were deemed to be a legit all star game, the underclass FB player would not be eligible. You can't cut a check and play in the McDonald's All American game, or the Army All American game. Good examples and explanations here: https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/08/11/perfect-game-classic-tssaa-rule-keeps-robert-hassell-ryan-hagenow-out-all-star-game/1981266001/ https://www.knoxnews.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/07/11/high-school-baseball-farragut-tssaa-tennessee-2019/1707665001/
  3. Athletes can participate in all star games (i.e. UnderArmor All American Game, Army All American Bowl in Texas, McDonald's All American Game, etc.) but it depends on when the game takes place. It's not an issue with football or basketball. The biggest stink with this is with baseball and the Perfect Game All American Game in San Diego in August. This year is a perfect example. Some kids from TN were allowed to participate due to the fact that the game took place before their school year started. Some were not allowed to play, because the first day of school at their particular school had already taken place. It's a stupid rule that will be overturned and will be discussed at regional meetings, but a rule none the less. Not to long ago players would drop out of school, play the all star game, and then re-enroll. TSSAA had to nip that in the bud as well.
  4. The Tullahoma zone is the city limit. The morons at Fayetteville City should have set it the same. I dealt with the TSSAA for over 12 years and know eligibility inside and out. You know a little law, and nothing about eligibility apparently.
  5. I can see withholding info to put the screws to a rival school. I don't know who brought this up to the TSSAA this last time, but I do know there is a ton of bad blood in when it comes to football between Fayetteville and LC. There will never be a return to the "good ole days" of Lincoln County football as long as Fayetteville is rocking and rolling, or even in existence.
  6. Huntland is not its own school system, that is why. Out of zone and out of district are different. Fayetteville must have fudged something on the eligibility report or the TSSAA would not have deemed him eligible to begin with. There's more to this that that admin would leave you to believe. IMO this falls on the the AD or principal being that they are the ones who submit eligibility, not the coaches anymore.
  7. I get what you're saying and agree. Fayetteville being its own school system is the problem though.
  8. LC will always swim in the pool of mediocrity as long as Fayetteville City has the doors open.
  9. 5-5A gets smacked year in and year out in the playoffs. FACT
  10. It’s all slow motion football in Southern middle Tennessee. Should have stuck w Carr and his staff w Reed and the gang a few years back...Would be no worse and most likely much better off. 5-5A is arguably the worst 5A region in the state and there are good middle school teams in some areas that would make the playoffs in Huntland’s region.
  11. Coaches in all sports participate in practice. So is a baseball coach not supposed to hit grounders or throw BP? Are football coaches not supposed to teach technique? Marion got popped a few years back because the kid that was in pads was not a coach. Should a coach have been in pads?? Probably not. But to say coaches can’t participate in practice shows how ignorant of the rules some of you clowns really are.
  12. Baseball has always ran into the Boys State Basketball tournament. First day of contests for Spring Sports has been the day after the time change for years.
  13. No. They haven’t beaten a team that finished the season with a winning record in years.
  14. Glad the community supports beating up on the little sisters of the poor...
  15. A vast majority of AAA and AA football is not very good if you break down the tape. Actually a vast majority of AAA and AA football is awful. Goods play goods in November and bads play bads in September. Thus is the state of football in Tennessee with 6 classifications
  16. No. No. No. Good on the very top end, and almost unwatchable from the middle of the pack down in AAA.
  17. Then let all schools pull from wherever. And those that do will play those that do (or schools w double their enrollment)and those that don’t wont. It’s it a hard concept to grasp. It won’t happen but it’d fix the “recruiting”.
  18. Not if schools played kids that only lived in their district. Those schools wouldn’t go anywhere.
