How many teams make the playoffs is decided by the schools not the TSSAA. However, I agree it is silly for everyone to make the playoffs.

Last year, their football team was undefeated until they lost in the semi's to the overall winner, and the basketball team lost in the State finals. If thats a down year, its really hard to have a good year.

It's in his interest for kids he has worked with or knows to go on to D1 schools. Oakland is a good place for them to do that and the school work is less challenging then the private schools which may be more appealing to the kids. Also, I wonder if some of the private school coaches are getting tired of all the "outside help" these kids are paying for, weather its NPA or others.

If you don't even post it on the TSSAA than you probably won't get a lot of applicants. Makes it seem like you already know who you are going to hire.

They didn't even post the job on the TSSAA job board.

It may have been a blitz but it was actually an option play.

Coach W does not call the O. He has coordinators on both sides of the ball that call the plays, but he spends more time with defense.

I'd say he's been successful. Word is he has gotten rid of most of the coaches and a lot of the players as well.

Has there been any talk of this? It seems to me that 4 in the west and 7 in the middle/east doesn't make any sense.

I'd like to know how a guy can call himself a guru by reprinting what a lot of other people wrote. You are calling the coaches lazy. Murphy gets a whole book written by different people and then sells it for a profit.

All I'm reading about is education. What about the role models these coaches are for kids. Some of them are the only father figure these kids have and the last significant male role model in their life before they are released into society. Seems, like a pretty important investment to me.

I think the big difference today is how many more kids out there would be willing to be a whistle blower on their own team. Because of this coaches will have to adapt or some will pay consequences.

Not trying to pick a fight, but I would honestly like to know what bowers and the school are doing for the community.

So does the Ryan freshman team usually beat the MBA, Ensworth and BA's of the world?

One of the main problems I's the tssaa not doing really anything to govern this. Are they not giving every other d2 school a liscense to recruit whoever they want? With no post season ban every school should know they can get away with almost anything right now.

A lot has been brought up about fact or oppinion so let me explain myself. I do not work in admissions nor do I have a child on financial aid at one of these schools so all my comments on that were obviosly not facts witnessed by my own eyes. To me after talking to some of the people I have and what they have told me they become facts because I trust them and believe they would know. I understand why you think that may be a bunch of crap. With so many kids on financial aid and coming from all around the city and other communities sometimes 30 miles outside the school I am surprised that none of you think that even one of those kids has been contacted improperly. I find it hard to believe that people that live so far from a school would contact the school apply for financial aid and then ask that a bus comes a picks the kid up. To me it seems much more likely that that would be offered. I will tell you that I am not ignorant and the only act of ignorance would be for me to continue this further as it will go nowhere but a bunch of name calling. The only thing that would make any difference would be a scandall to come out in the papers. This will be my last post on this and I probably won't check these boards for a while. But next time your at a middle school game and you see a coach from one of these schools there or when you here about the kid from public shool a little north of here transfering to one of these schools just think about it. Sorry to have ruffled so many feathers, I am actually a nice guy but these were my beliefs on the subject. I suggest everyone goes back to talking about the fun stuff like this frifday's games.
