  1. Still have no clue how a team can just snap it to a QB and let him run it and have success. You can't do that at this level.
  2. You for sure weren't after the late score put it completely out of reach.
  3. Picking Oneida just to give Hampton bulletin board material.
  4. That only happens if HV beats South Greene as well as Hampton losing, giving HV 1 region loss and Hampton 2. The lineup is pretty much set.
  5. Just a thread for everyone to wrap up their regular seasons and start the playoff discussion in. Everything is pretty much settled as far as seeding goes, barring a Happy Valley or Cosby upset next week. Even then I don't know that the seeding would change. Cosby @ Meigs County Happy Valley @ Rockwood Oneida @ Hampton Cumberland Gap @ South Greene Region 2 has homefield in the Quarters if it comes to it.
  6. Stats through Oneida for Meadows. 122 carries for 989 yards and 13 touchdowns 5 catches for 77 yards and 1 touchdown Stats are for six games due to the Clinton cancellation and him missing the Sweetwater game.
  7. I’m sure the Tigers will get the kinks worked out.
  8. Would like to once again remind everyone how great this game was. It’s also worth remarking that 7 years ago Meigs was in a battle with Cannon County to see who wouldn’t finish the season winless. 7 years later here we are, 2 regular season losses in 5 years and playing for our 4th consecutive district title. I know South Pitt fans are used to that kind of success but it’s still hard to comprehend around here sometimes.
  9. I get that, and you kind of have to expect them to lose a few votes after a loss, regardless to whoever. But I wouldn’t expect them to lose votes to Copper Basin after they just lost to McMinn Central.
  10. Now that everyone’s hurt feelings are scattered about the last few pages of this thread I thought I’d remind everyone that this was an incredible game between two really great teams that unfortunately someone had to lose. Really wish Covid weren’t around and we could’ve packed that stadium elbow to elbow and 5 deep all the way around the fence.
  11. Copper Basin loses to 2-5 McMinn Central, but only falls to fourth? Still pulls first place votes? Someone care to solve that one for me?
  12. Right now their biggest obstacle is having four more unofficial bye weeks before playing a team with a pulse.
  13. When Kelly gets back there won’t be any questions about who does and doesn’t need the ball. Good luck stopping him, 4, and 6. Hide the women and children.
  14. I’d imagine so at 7’6” or however tall he is. Like a redwood tree with arms and legs.
  15. I thought there was a big drop off from 75 to 64 with 75 clearly being better and even after saying that I thought 57 was better than 75. We seemed to have more trouble with him, anyways.
  16. Oneida isn’t the round 3 or 4 measuring stick. South Pitt was.
  17. Respectfully South Pitt had a lot more skill players than we did. 1, 4, 6, 11, 20, 28 are better than anyone we’ll see until late into the playoffs. I’m sure I’m leaving some out.
  18. Don’t be sorry lol. They win ballgames and until they lose you have to give them some credit. Same with South Greene the last few years. I like our odds in those games, though. Especially after what I saw last night. Looking west in regions 3 and 4 there are some very good teams that could make things very interesting if we’re able to get that far.
  19. Not so sure that’s not true. I think the East gets pretty interesting after the first couple rounds, especially if Hampton is as good as advertised.
  20. While I will agree a lot of the hysteria and panic is media driven, the majority of the cases are very mild, and that there have been egregious errors in case reporting, it's very hard to call something made-up that kept an otherwise healthy family member on a ventilator for two weeks knocking on deaths door. The pandemic may be, to use onb's favorite term, "orchestrated", but sadly the virus is not.
  21. Here’s the thing about social distancing. Kid gets it, which I agree is bound to happen, they’re automatically quarantined. Along with everyone they’ve been in close contact with. If you’re team is doing things right, that means no one else is quarantined. If you don’t social distance, you go from losing one player to seven or eight REAL fast.
  22. Liability, probably. Also I saw where Bernard Childress came out and said that the lifting of state mandates wouldn't change HS sports right now. I'd say that changes in a few weeks.
  23. I would expect to see schools increase the number of fans allowed, but I don't know if they'll stop limiting all together. Especially big systems like Knox and Hamilton.
  24. You're right, but if anyone in that district is going to do it this year, it is going to be McMinn. I could see it being a Quarterfinal rematch. I think McMinn/DB will be a very good matchup. Just until someone in district beats Maryville, no one is going to pick against them in district games.
