not a good place to be right now, some bad decisions have hurt the school from many different angles, the last hire was not a solid hire. Not knocking anyone but the hiring criteria for a new head coach is very tough
  2. when does the new coach start at coffee county?
  3. i will tell you this burley, despite everything that has happened from the last three months, the one thing that no one can deny is Mac is a winner and has the record to back it up. Always heard he was tough on the kids but they loved to play for him. He will get another chance somewhere down the line and will always be the winningist coach in moore county history.
  4. coach pack would be a great hire for anyone, great football coach and even better human being, if anyone deserves a second chance it should be him!
  5. congrats to the red raiders, sounds like you have got yourself a great football coach!
  6. this discussion is amazing, the answer is what ever the coach knows what to the coach and what plays to the strengths of your team in a particular year. Looking at the game and looking at the Maryville team it really did not matter what offense or defense the opposing team was using. We can all go back in time and using prior knowledge and make better decisions but that is not the way it goes in coaching. Nothing trumps coaching to the strengths of year team and your coaching style. Hendersonville had an awesome year and i know over 300 coaches sitting at home watching the game on tv that would love to be in their exact same position. every once in while a good coach can make up for a lack of talent but when you combine great talent with great coaching you have an almost unbeatable combination. I have a coaching buddy who works at maryville and it is amazing what those kids do to get better and to not be the class that lets all the other classes down in not winning the state championship. He tells me how often he sees the kids led by the quarterback throwing the ball around without a coach anywhere around, that they set up their own time and do it on their own dime becauase of the pressure and will to win. If i had a dollar for every time i saw the wing-t rape opposing teams i would not be coaching now, actually i would, and seen the wing-t score 80 or 90 points and everyone next year trying to run that unstoppable offense...no one that coaches would have started this thread i have to believe and i am the first to state that this forum is here for everyones opinion
  7. they are going to be very good this next year, they will be a tough out in the playoffs, heck they were tough this year...kids are tough in general and are well coached, the rice kid makes them special, unbelieveable poise for a freshmen
  8. well good luck to coach Johnson, he seemed like a great guy, I am sure that he will land on his feet and be coaching somewhere next year. good luck with your search pioneers!
  9. congrats to the pirates on a great year, I know second is not what you guys ever want but you had an incredible season with a new head coach and all the drama that surrounded the year. again great job!
  10. Roy, for all the good people in Moore county, we wish you good luck and good speed...you have kept us in stiches with your comments but the one thing that keeps us going is to know that like barney fife you will keep holding murphy fair and his book to the highest of standards and will always report on those coaches who do not turn their surveys in on a timely basis....seize the day Roy and make it yours, the people have lost their voice...but like the phoenix which rises from the ash i suspect that some day on some random coach t post we will see the rambling of the marion county poster...good bye and again good luck!
  11. two things that you could not talk about without coach anderson or coach brown, was running the isolation and finally it makes me smile today when i think about how many times we ran the belly play, belly pass and belly keep by the qb...still does....good times
  12. good luck warriors, fans and total community. No one should have to got through this situation. My heart goes out to your whole community and i hope you are able to put your whole heart into the game...take care and kick tail
  13. good luck fayettville city and coach palmer, what a season you guys have already had, we in 9=A are very impressed with what you all have done and how you have shocked everyone. good luck tomorrow night, you just never know so let it all hang out...south pitt is a great football team and very well coached...both schools remain healthy and take care
  14. congrats to coach Anderson on a great career and being a solid example of what men and coaches should strive for. Between you and coach buddy brown I learned more about being what a coach was about. I am still learning lessons but you guys were both great mentors. If I know coach Anderson he will soon be back on the sidelines again, it is his only hobby. Way to go out the way you want to and have fun in retirement
  15. i am sure this deep into the playoffs both teams are pretty good, i have not seen adamsville but i have seen eagleville and will say that eagleville will not be an easy out, they are well coached and very disciplined. They do not give up the big play very often and really make teams grind it out against them....i give it to eaglville 28-21
  16. there were a great team, do they lose many seniors?
  17. I do not know, he is a great kid and a hard worker, had a tremendous second half of the year, I do not think he has decided what to do, good luck to you all
  18. first of all congrats to the south pitt pirates, they are a very talented team. Second, with out a doubt it was the worst officiated game I have seen in my nearly half century of watching football. The referee group was out of the Clarksville area. they seemed to be fine men but not good refs. third, both sides played out of control and that is never a good thing. fourth the game was much closer than the score indicated, south pitt can put three or four kids that most single a teams can very rarely match speed wise, however there defense was exposed, moore county had a tremendous amount of offense and kept the ball ten and a half minutes out of 12 in the third quarter and had a td called back and a pass dropped on the 2 yard line at the very end the moore county team called and was granted a time out with 8 seconds left by the official to only be told as they huddled that they now did not have a timeout and the game was allowed to run out. As I am sure the pirates are taught the moore county kids are taught to never stop fighting until the bitter end, it was not 55 that the penalty was thrown on and also what looked like kids shooting a bird was in fact the kids pointing at the clock running out after a time out was called and granted, many calls were missed on both sides. good luck pirates the rest of the way and also good luck to a moore county team that battled through injuries throughout the season, congrats to a group of seniors who won 30 games during their career, one region championship, a perfect regular season and a # 1 ranking earlier this year. no matter what many will say this game was not close to being a mercy ruled game, and the score does not in fact show just how close the game really was. I am so glad that it was proved that no one involved in the south pitt program was involved in the destruction of marion county property, I for one never thought they were. things have a weird way of happening over and over to the same people and no one seems to notice, south pitt is nothing but classy and have a tremendous amount of football history...good luck and kick tail
  19. do not mean to stir the pot but the hale kid from Eagleville is a very good back and has played since he was a freshmen. Eagleville I know is a 2a school but a game between them and south Pittsburgh would be a great match up. Lankford is also an exceptional back. They are both very deserving and either one or the kid from grace would make excellent representatives. I guess after tomorrow night people will be able to make a head to head comparison because they both will have played moore county
  20. congrats to the lankford kid for his mr. football nomination, it is well deserved and quite an honor. As a whole moore county fans travel well!
  21. Loretto will find it very difficult to score on Eagleville. Eagleville is healthy and rested and will be solid on both sides of the ball as well as special teams. Good luck to you but the eagles will be a tough out. They have an experienced quarterback and a tailback that has rushed for almost 2,000 yards. biggest thing is the experience of the coaching staff, very solid and business like. I believe in pulling for your team but Eagleville wins this one...bet the house on it
  22. good luck to the rockets and coach coleman and their staff, they have had a wonderful year and have totally changed the mindset of the school, kick tail and represent region 9-A
  23. i know that daniel boone is a huge underdog but in many ways they win whether they lose or win on friday night. They have grown up and come so far under first year coach jeremy bosken, good luck pioneers and hold your heads up high!
