  1. Yes - started at OLB for 6 games.
  2. Take a knee and BA gets the ball back - ok, with only 8-9 seconds. Why give the other team a chance. Don't make a late hit out of bounds and none of this happens.
  3. Glad you have recovered enough from the Vols beat down by Missouri to join the conversations again! First, congratulations to BA on an impressive win. Second, time will tell whether your high regard of East Tennessee football is justified. Playoffs are a great time of the year.
  4. Brentwood simply does not have the offense to stay with Ravenwood - they don't have an answer for Jefferson at receiver. This one will have a lot of offense since neither team plays exceptional defense. Ravenwood 34 and Brentwood 21.
  5. PC handled Lipscomb pretty easily - only time I have seen PC. The size and primarily the speed of PC will overwhelm FRA. PC 34 and FRA 14.
  6. JAFO - thanks for starting this thread. It has been a lot of fun reading this one during the week. Giles County has a great program, love the stadium and the fans. I have been to two games there and the atmosphere is great. The last game was a playoff game with Bo Wallace playing. Still the best high school QB that I have seen play. Safe travels tomorrow to the Bobcats!
  7. MBA 31 Father Ryan 14 The size difference in the line will wear down Father Ryan.
  8. The video is pretty clear - it is definitely a block in the back on this play. The refs have this one right.
  9. Yes - really. If FCS wants to know where there middle school program stands in DII then they should compare their program to the other DII programs. I listed three as an example in the second post. Still my opinion - FCS is playing DII and this is the standard - not CPA (not a DII school).
  10. I have seen CPA twice this year and multiple times the last two years. Their middle program is weak compared to the DII schools. Friendship will do well - they should use games with BA, MBA, BGA, etc. To gauge where they are.
  11. Congratulations - and yes I still think FCS will do well in D II. My point is that measuring your team against CPA and Goodpasture is not relevant since neither are in D II and I don't think either school's programs would be very competitive in DII.
  12. I think FC will do very well in D2. Just be careful basing a judgment on the CPA scrimmage - their middle school football program is not very strong and is not competitive with the D2 schools in the area.
  13. Glad to know that MUS winning knowledge bowl competitions which according to Channel 3 news is limited to 32 high schools in the mid-south (search memphis knowledge bowl winners and the article should come) makes them elite over all other priviate schools other than MBA. When you have some facts to back up your claims - let us know. Now, back to football.
  14. Any data points or statistics to back this up other than your random statements that can't be measured?
  15. Simple - kids and parents want to be part of a great academic program that has a very good athletic program. They take the steps required to potentially enter the school. The first is applying, interviews, etc.
  16. Not really - the coaches want to see how the recruit performs against other elite players - playing in an elite program gives them a better opportunity to be seen in a competitive setting. The other issue is being seen by coaches when they are scouting other players on the team.
  17. Stars - thanks for posting this - really helps put everything in the proper perspective. I am definitely praying for the family. BTW - my wife still thinks I spend way too much time reading your posts.
  18. "not even close" is a phrase that is hard for me to define. Seriously, if you look at a Coach's body of work (records, state championships, what former players say about them, etc.) - who would you say is the best Coach in DII or Tennessee?
  19. Stars - I don't know the history of Maryville. What is the answer to this question?
  20. Having watched both players on multiple occasions - my choice is Corn Elder. The debate over Braxton Bonds playing at the next will be settled soon enough along with the question of whether CPA repeats. Simply choosing between the two and what they contribute - one vote from me for Mr. Elder.
  21. Ensworth High School - possibly others Myles Pasley - University of Evansville Brennan Washington - Belmont University Quint Robinsom - Birmingham Southern
  22. Great post - you have clearly spent some time on the baseball field. I totally agree you have assess all three outfield positions differently.
