  1. It’s not that they don’t “pass up” on players. It’s just that players probably don’t want to be on Rocky Top. It’s that simple. I don’t know why Hudson Wolfe flipped from Tennessee to Ole Miss, but if Hudson Wolfe wants to play on Sunday’s (which is obviously the “end” goal) going to Oxford seems way more obvious for him than Knoxville.
  2. Everybody eyes are different. College coaches pass up on players all the time, that's part of it. Just like general managers for professional sport team draft/sign a bad player and made a bad trade. It's just part of it. I will say this, Tennessee is not obligated to recruit every "good" player that walk the halls at Alcoa and Maryville, of course. Memphis was very fortunate to see Ole Miss and Mississippi State to pass on Kenny Gainwell. Just like Tennessee is lucky that Alabama cut ties with Alvin Kamara. Also, I do believe high school players are now switching from "pick a school that I want to go play for" to "pick a school that I have the best chance to be successful in." I do believe high school recruits are becoming more wiser when it comes to college selection, than ever.
  3. It’s tough for fans to admit where the current state of the Tennessee football program currently is. What Matt Rhule did at Baylor was exceptional, and I know Tennessee fans are trying to find their “Matt Rhule.” I really do want the Vols to succeed, but it’s tough because I think we all know Pruitt is not the guy.
  4. The only reason why Tennessee can’t fired Pruitt is because there’s an idiot that gave a non-proven coach an extension...
  5. If Memphis was in the SEC, they would beat Tennessee, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State. Not saying they would beat those teams every year, but Memphis remember that Memphis scored more points against Penn State (top 10 defense in college football in 2019) in the Cotton Bowl, than Tennessee scored against Alabama, Florida, and Georgia combined.
  6. What I mean by benefits is that they, teachers, do get two months off in the summer. They do get a month off for the spring (spring break) and now I'm starting to see the trend where school systems are giving students and faculty a full week off in the fall (fall break). Add that with 2 weeks off for Christmas break and an occasional snow day here and there, that's what I mean by "benefits." I. understand that they have to deal with students in a different way than it was 20-30 years ago. Again, I have respect for teachers, but if teachers were to get paid about $10K higher than what they're getting paid now, I do believe you'll see less of a shortage to find teachers to fill the classrooms and hallways.
  7. As tough as this to admit, I will go ahead and say it. The reason why teachers are paid so low, is because of the benefits that are included in being a teacher. If they were getting a good salary, then everyone would want to be a teacher. That’s just how I see it. And I have the upmost respect for teachers.
  8. I do believe South Gibson is the wildcard here. I’m not sure they can compete with Milan, and they did surprised all of us with the win in Brownsville.
  9. I don’t believe the North Side and Milan matchups in week 11 will be anything “exciting.” Remember, there were tons of matchups at the last week of the season that were basically “meaningless” matchups.
  10. North Side is probably going to be in the same boat as South Gibson. They’re only losing a small handful of players, and the offense is so easy to study where the younger players should get used to the system. Ironically, the Indians’ offense is similar as the offense for South Gibson. If I were to sit here and put and early prediction on what to expect, this is what I’m going with. 1: Milan/Haywood 2: Milan/Haywood/South Gibson 3: Haywood/ South Gibson/ North Side 4: South Gibson/ North Side / Crockett County 5: Crockett County / North Side 6: Obion Central I hope this helps a lot The inability to get some momentum going in Troy is why the Rebs’ will finish 6. Not a fan of the future of Crockett County, and that’s why I’m slating them in the 4/5 spot. Merry Christmas to some familar region opponents (Haywood, Crockett, and Obion) from that idiotic 9-team region years ago. And to the new friends with Milan and SGC
  11. As what people in East Tennessee say in football, “It Happens Everywhere”
  12. I was hoping that we (North Side) would have the opportunity to play Lake County. Just something different on the schedule to look forward to. Having to make trips into Middle Tennessee to play teams gets old fast.
  13. West Tennessee Healthcare is a joke. Yes, they’re doing their best at the main hospital, but the hospital out north is like 75% empty. Hundreds of people in Jackson are lobbying for the WTH to make the north hospital as the “Covid” hospital, I just don’t know why they’re not doing it. It’s like, they’re not using all of their resources despite being crammed.
  14. Agreed about the offensive line. However, with Jarod Neal getting a full offseason with the team, that is probably not going to have as much Covid restrictions (hopefully with this vaccine), I do expect this team to make a pretty big step in 2A. Remember, they had SGC to the ropes in the playoffs.
  15. Even though I respect your opinion, I disagree.
  16. I'll actually take that back, I don't believe the two Peabody transfers that I'm referring to "waited their turn." They were not on the Varsity roster at another school, therefore, they can transfer and not sit out. They were on the "Freshman roster" but not the "varsity roster." I'm actually confident that I'm right, but I could be wrong. Point is, the LC poster prefers not to see athletes not transferring to another school because of sports only. However, it happens everywhere to the point where it's pretty nothing the TSSAA can do. I want what's best for the athlete, but I also believe it's time for the TSSAA to find a way for a tougher restriction on transferring. I'm 50/50 on this debate.
  17. Here's a thought: If you transfer to a school that is located in an adjacent county, you have to sit out for a year. Would you be in favor of that?
  18. Yes, they transferred and "waited their turn." I know that, just stating a fact.
  19. I understand where you are coming from. However, we all know Milan and Peabody played with a few players that had transferred into their program. Here's the tough pill to swallow, no matter what the restrictions are, schools that are predominately dominant in football are going to find ways to bend the rules or find a loop hole. I do want what is best for the athlete and I do want to see them be successful, but I also want to see the TSSAA think about something different to prevent more transferring. The people that represent that schools that gets transfers coming in, will always say, "it happens everywhere."
  20. True, don’t get me wrong. But got to keep everyone happy, especially in an industry that is dying.
  21. Tough pill to swallow but the process of how officials get state championship games in football is based off a rotation, not necessarily the “best officials” are in Cookeville.
  22. In the NFL, that’s an incomplete pass. In High School, that’s a catch. The turn from the receiver was a “football move” and made that a catch. However, I couldn’t tell if the ball was bobbled or not. Just going based off body movement
