  1. Agreed, they basically will have to start from scratch. That’s the reality. They’ll get a good chunk of players collectively from all three schools, but who knows.
  2. It's going to be interesting to see how this all panned out based on the athletic standpoint. If they go 2A, I'd imagine they'll be in the district with Adamsville and Peabody. If they go 3A, then they'll be in the Milan and Covington district. I don't know what they're going to do from an athletic standpoint and how they're going to handle this situation. But, to me, they're going to pull a Freedom Prep, Middle College, and MASE (all Memphis academies) and basically start from scratch. In addition, all the people that live in the city of Jackson (specifically near Oman Arena) want to get this done. And the county is determined to get this done. However, it'll be interesting to see if South Side, North Side, and/or Liberty would drop a class because of this.
  3. What happened? I noticed they lost Jay Lowery, but I don't know if that has a significant impact or not due to run heavy offense. I think we all figured they would take a step back, but everybody is taking a step back (probably other than West Carroll)... So what's going on..
  4. Yes, in Jackson they're in agreement to re-open Jackson Central-Merry in the next few years. However, the school system and county commission are getting the funding open. I don't know when it'll be "official" but it'll probably knock South Side down to 3A. JCM might go to 2/3A, but I don't expect them to go 4A with North Side and Liberty. They're determine to get this done soon, but the target date is not set in stone
  5. If you're going to have a soccer field as well as a football stadium, I'd much rather have a track go around the soccer stadium, then the football stadium. Personally, not a fan of having a tracker around the football field because there's rarely any fan engagement.
  6. Right now, we're 74 days til kickoff of the 2020 High School football season, which is slated for August 21. I went out of town this past weekend to watch a travel ball (baseball) tournament. I talked to a few people from Illinois and Kentucky respectively. The people from Illinois are saying that they still cannot go eat at restaurants. In addition workouts are going on, but they're strict with the workouts to the point where it's somewhat pointless to do the workouts. The people that I've talked to from Kentucky are saying that their travel ball facilities are closed til mid-July. Personally, I do believe this is based on more political involvement (remember, we are in an election year), then health recommendations. However, I agree with college football where it's going to take at least 6 weeks for all schools to come back and practice where all football players can get acclimated to the heat. The last thing the TSSAA can do is have teams coming back and have 3 weeks to prepare (because that's when the school districts will let them come back) and be rushed. Then, we're going to have student athletes passing out on workouts, because coaches are rushing trying to play catch-up with everyone else. So, six weeks til August 21st will be July 10. If there's plenty of schools that aren't allowed to participate on field activities, then the TSSAA should delay the season, and have kickoff pushed back til October 2 (playoffs begin in January/February). I believe the TSSAA has a month to decide on what they're going to do. But I do believe that every school should have a chance to win a state tournament. That's my opinion
  7. Also, some people aren’t going to pay for subscription when they know their WiFi is shaky...
  8. Some teams played in 3 different classifications (Bolton, Millington, and White House Heritage). Is this common? Bolton and Millington dropped but WH-Heritage appeared to go up in classification. I'm curious to find out why... 7 of the top 15 teams are from West Tennessee. Unfortunately, only two of those teams played in state title games (and lost both). We have to do better in November. Donovan has done a great job with this. I knew we would get a lot of West Tennessee teams in the top #15, but the playoffs basically embarrass us. Greeneville won 59 of 60 win region/district play, was it Elizabethton the team they lost to?

  10. Didn't noticed that UC lost their middle school coach.
  11. And the funny thing about Union City, is that they’ll probably never get back to that form again. The coaching hires (especially the northern tier of WTN) has been questionable for me. Honestly, it’s a perfect time for Obion Central or South Fulton to take advantage of the “downiness” that Union City is in. Especially, the Red Devils because SF is in a easier district. I can’t say UC is in a rebuild because there no guarantees they’ll be elite... I’m anxious to see how the 2020 decade will plan out for both Peabody and Milan, because they’ll both hopefully be elite programs from 2022 and so on... also how does SGC handle having two elite programs in Gibson Co. when the demand of talent will be scarced for them.
  12. I would imagine there are a few coaches that are planning on going out of town for those two weeks as well.
  13. Agreed. Last year, they lost to Beech by 14, Haywood by 20, and Hardin County by 7. They don't necessarily have to win all three of those games, but they need to show up win it comes to those three teams. Personally, adding Teddy is a great complimentary add, but doesn't move the needle for me. They have to open up their offense and throw the ball. However, I don't think they can have a quarterback that can throw the ball downfield, and they don't have the dominant receiver as they had in years past. Luckily, North Side administration has shown that they aren't willing to have pride in the school. Remember, Teddy got fired at Milan for going .500 (or 1-2 games over). At North Side, Jesse Powell's job security is safe (for a guy that has gone 14-10 in two years). The reason why I say that, NS girls basketball coach, Jerry Robertson, has gone 4-67 in three years, and is still on the job. Principal Jason Bridgeman and AD Dionne Springfield has made it evidently clear, they don't care about North Side athletics as a whole.
  14. Average team, but they're still the best team. Better than USJ if that answers the question. However, North Side's game against Beech, Haywood, and Hardin County would determined the fate of this team.
  15. They do have a G, but I think it's a little different than Green Bay.
  16. I’m not a South Side person, I’m actually the opposite. I’m a North Side fan, even though I’ve currently have no personal affiliation with them anymore (like no family members play for them).
  17. Yes. Just think it’ll be great for West Tennessee
  18. Any opportunity for the two teams to play, preferably the Tuesday before Thanksgiving?
  19. South Side could very well be my pick (along with Westview). The Lady Hawks graduated 0 seniors off this years team. They also have a very good player returning off injury in Currie-Jelks. District is easy enough where they'll play but mainly sit out the second half of majority of their games. One team to watch out for in West Tennessee is Crockett County.
  20. 1A in Shelby County will be interesting due to Freedom Prep and MASE (who beat Greenfield's last year) emergence. However, with them being academy type schools, who knows what you're going to get year in and year out with them. Unfortunately, 1A in Region 6-8 are both bad districts as a whole. I try to find a way to get each of those regions a compliment about teams, but sadly, I can't. It does seem like Freedom Prep, West Carroll, Huntingdon, and Lake County are the four contenders. But, the drop off between one and two seeds in Region 6, two and three seeds in region 7, and one and two seeds in region 8 are substantial drop offs.
  21. If the Fayetteville scenario is true, then I would put them slight odds above Huntingdon. Same situation goes for Gordonsville. Pratically, Huntingdon going 10-0 in the regular season, tells me nothing.
  22. Agreed, that's why I believe in West Carroll being the team to take that crown. However, Freedom Prep is improving drastically, year by year.
  23. You are right, but I don't know what to make of Huntingdon in 2020. Cookeville expectations are real, but they have that for the past 5 seasons, and continue to fall short. Simply, they're a good team that is getting the benefit of the doubt of playing bad football teams. This fall, Huntingdon will be entering the same regular season schedule for the 4th consecutive season. They haven't lost a regular season game since 2016. They've won 31 games in a row. Huntingdon is getting the benefit of the doubt that Milan has been averaged the last 4 years, Camden has been down, and McKenzie is patiently waiting.... Huntingdon's schedule is bad, pretty bad. Pretty bad is an understatement. Seeing Wayne County losing the Rice's has only gave more disappointment to Huntingdon, because they have been so dominant over bad competition, only to lose in November. At the end of the day, someone has to win the championship in 1A.
  24. Didn’t realize you were into radio.. was it true that he said 55 yard line? In addition, what makes him so bad?
