  1. That and 6A has stepped up its game. Wasn't that long ago you could predict the final 4 before the season started. The playoffs will be fun to watch
  2. This team isn't as dominant as the last 2-3, still finding their way in some areas and they'll probably have to play a Riverdale team twice that has a very good offense and a solid defense. Add to the fact that this is the deepest 6A has ever been, its going to take some significant strides the next month to get back to Chattanooga
  3. Rivalries are the lifeblood of sports, even more so for one like Maryville & Alcoa. If Alcoa was just good for a 3A team that'd be one thing, but they are one of the best public schools every year. Pretty soon OR will be a region game anyways
  4. Another good week for Jordan James this week. 13 carries for 103 yards, both of which are career highs
  5. Jesus man, give it a rest. Shut up and file a complaint to the TSSAA
  6. Great teams also rise above the challenge. Oakland went from down by 12 to up by 16 in 1 quarter against a pretty good team. They needed a game like that
  7. His resumè recruits itself. If I remember right, OR isn't the easiest place to transfer into. Regardless, original point still stands, he's been successful at places they were in a complete rebuild or weren't the easiest to win at
  8. Look pretty silly blaming the refs when you turn the ball over 5 times. That will get you beat every time. Pagach threw a couple of balls last night that if I didn't know better, thought he was the QB for Maryville
  9. For 2nd through 5th, the playoffs start this week and if I was MJ I'd do the same
  10. If you let them get into a rhythm on offense they absolutely are. I think this will be where playing Center Grove will pay off a little bit. I'm sure Oakland will take a page from Henry Co this week. Oakland cant afford to stumble out of the gate like they did last night or they'll be spending all game playing catch up
  11. At this point, they need to just co-op
  12. I feel like because it was early ppl forget that Shelbyville beat a really good Marshall County and hung with a healthy Siegel team. I do agree they've played down to their competition. Don't think they'll have that problem next week, win or lose
  13. The best teams take on the personality of their coach. Cookeville is playing how their coach played for the Cavs. If they can make it as a 2 seed, they have a fighting chance to make it to the 2nd round
  14. This is the best team Riverdale has in awhile, it's not a slam dunk Oakland wins this game. They led Germantown for a good part of that game and have destroyed everybody since
  15. No argument here. 1st quarter we shot ourselves in the foot. Defense held Ravenwood to 125 yards of total offense. Creasy is getting there after missing half the season, but if Oakland gets in a situation where they need to sling it, I'd rather have Freeman in there, but Creasy has forgotten more about football than I know so I trust whatever choice he makes
  16. Battle of the Boro Part I. Region Championship on the line. Oakland 68-0 at home under Creasy and winners of 12 straight against the Warriors
  17. From a MJ POV I can understand feeling that way, but if your Cookeville, even if you get bounced in the 1st round, doubling your wins from the year prior is a good season especially since hardly anyone had them making the playoffs
  18. I'll go ahead and say they play like that in the first round, they'll be one and done. Whenever MJ lays an egg like this, always seems to be the offense that is the culprit
  19. Not gonna troll, but this is the 2nd dud in a row MJ has played. This wouldn't be the first year they fell apart down the stretch either. I get that Franklin has been competitive in most of their games but they were still 0-8
  20. Oakland wins 42-18. Wasn't pretty at times but Oakland needed a game like this where they were challenged before they face Riverdale
  21. Rang has won everywhere he's been. I think he'll be just fine
  22. @jhawk23 is right, Freeman is probably the better passer, but Kyler knows the offense better. A good problem to have
  23. I'm pretty fortunate in that I know a good number of coaches. The private message feature on here is also pretty useful for information. That said, I didn't see Cookeville being 5-3 at this point
