  1. That is a terrible pick IMO. There is no way Summertown wins or scores 3 TDS against Forrest. If Forrest can get any production out of the offense they win by 2 or 3 scores. Mt. Pleasant will win big if they are healthy 28-7. To many good football players on that team to not out athlete Loretto. Cascade should be more physical than Richland and I do not see them stopping the Inmon kid that has been playing lights out. Cascade should take the win by a couple scores.
  2. That should be a dandy of a game. Both teams always play each other hard and they both play the same style of football. The fans will definitely get to see a show!
  3. What is issue with the offense (personnel, play calling, scheme)? It looks like they are playing pretty good defense.
  4. Having seen both play I would say this game will be great to watch as a fan. Cascade has played great defense and solid offense so far. Mt. Pleasant looked really good in 7 on 7’s this summer but have struggled with being physical so far this year. With conditions possibly being sloppy because of the rain yesterday and today I give a slight advantage to Cascade and the style of football they play.
  5. I would think that this would be Forrest’s region to lose. My picks would be: 1. Forrest- been the cream of the crop the last few years in a tough region. 2. Summertown- has a lot of talent returning if the rookie head coach can get them playing together. 3. Cascade- graduated a few good players but had a lot of freshmen and sophomores starting last year. 4. Mt. Pleasant- always has athletes but can the new coach get them in line and transition from the single wing to something that suits the talent. 5. Loretto- don’t know much about them other than they can play baseball and basketball with the best in the state. 6. Richland- another good baseball and basketball school but hasn’t been real successful on the gridiron.

    District 8-A

I believe Fayetteville will be able to hang with them. There is no shot that Cascade, Huntland, or Cornersville can play with the top two teams. If I were picking an order of finish for the district it would be: 1. MC 2. EHS 3. FHS Big gap between the top 3 and bottom 3 4. HHS 5. CAS 6. COR
  7. Maybe we can do some recruiting in the offseason and get these teams some keyboard cowboys to step up to the plate and root for their teams. On a different note what do each of these teams coming back Salem? You seem to know about most of the small schools in the mid-state. My super early pick for the region would be: 1. Forrest- Have been pretty successful the last few years 2. Cascade- Much improved in 2020 3. Mt. Pleasant- Always has players but can't ever get over the hump 4. Loretto- Basketball/ Baseball School 5. Richland-Little brother in Giles County but did not make the playoffs in 1A 6. Summertown- Basketball/Baseball School
  8. I'd say there will be a mass exodus of coaches and players from Shelbyville and Franklin County if this happens. Puckett came to Shelbyville to win championships and if he can't even make the playoffs he will be taking his talents elsewhere. The small county schools in both Franklin and Bedford Counties may be having some new enrollees soon.
  9. Heard that the Forrest was going virtual for 2 weeks starting tomorrow. Is that true and if so will it effect the game being played on Friday or next weeks game with Lewis County?
  10. There are a lot of teams in the midstate that have no idea where they will go and the TSSAA hasn't ever shown any logic on being able to place these teams in the correct regions. It makes my head hurt to even try to predict what those clowns at the state office will do.
  11. Moore County by whatever they want. They have some great athletes and the coaches are putting them in the right spot to get the most out of them. I personally feel like the boys in Blue have a chance to make a deep run and possibly get back to the Blue Cross Bowl this year.
  12. There is a 30% chance of rain on Friday! Why would anyone move a game up? Football is a sport that was built to play in the rain.
  13. Where are the fan bases at for these teams? Not a whole lot of chatter on here.
  14. This will be a close game with both teams playing pretty good defense but offensively from looking at scores for the season have struggled. The big question will be who is the healthiest going into Friday? If the QB from Forrest plays I would give them the nod but if he doesn’t then Cascade would have to get it. It’s the first time Cascade has been on the road in a month and senior night for the Rockets. My keys to the game would be who’s the healthiest and who can manufacture some big plays against two stingy defenses. It’s a toss-up at this point and old time rivalry so it should be fun!!!
  15. The Jackets have been rolling the last few weeks. Have they finally got everyone healthy in Hartsville TCRadio?
  16. Moore County if they are clicking on all cylinders like they were earlier in the season should take this one easily 35-7. Coach White has done an excellent job with the Raiders and have them playing really well!!!
  17. This game shouldn't be much of an issue for TC. Cascade is improved but do not have the horses in the stable that the jackets do. After seeing Cascade and Westmoreland play they are almost carbon copies of each other and Trousdale had no problems with Westmoreland, so they shouldn't have any with Cascade. The only hope that Cascade has are they play a perfect game and Trousdale leaves about half their kids in Hartsville. TC-35 Cascade-7
  18. With 2 games left in region play what do you all think about who gets in and what order?
  19. Cascade is improved but still does not have the athletes to keep up with Watertown. It would take a perfect game for Cascade and a terrible game by Watertown. It's possible with it being homecoming for them and being over confident since Cascade has not been very good but not very probable. Watertown is used to winning and that in itself is worth atleast 21 points. I say the final will be 28-10 Watertown.
  20. You would think that they would give some sort of wildcard to four teams from 1A and 2A to fill out the brackets. It's the playoffs and teams would travel to play in a playoff game no matter where it was and how far away it may be. I wonder how they would pick those teams if a scenario like that were to happen?
  21. I don't think that Cascade will get mercied ruled because their defense isn't to bad but they do not have enough horses in the stable to keep up with Watertown. Watertown should get the win but they will have to earn it. It will not be a giveme win like it has the last few years. Cascade is better but not on the level of Watertown in terms of talent.
  22. This game will be very bland/sloppy, not having any scrimmages to work out the kinks, as will most games in week 1 across the state will be. Moore County made a great hire with Coach White who has been in a lot of big games over the years. Having no idea what Moore will do offensively and knowing that Cascade will be a grind it out ball control team. I give a slight advantage to Cascade but honestly whoever limits the mistakes and controls the clock will win the game, it could go either way. I am just excited that we are playing some football this week because the kids, coaches, and communities NEED it!!!
  23. I was wondering the same thing or has all that money went off the table completely? If it's still out there Shelbyville Central could just about entice anyone in the state to take the job. @sportsguy22 You seem to be in the know when it comes to what's going on over in the Walking Horse Capital of the World!!!
  24. Well it's been a week since the bomb was set off at Shelbyville and maybe the dust has settled some. Is there any news on applicants or timeline for interviews etc.?
  25. From what I've been told the Rivera kid did play against Cascade this year.
