  1. BGA will tear that NCS defense apart unless the head coach can make adjustments.
  2. Pretty ironic you would say that on a high school message board where some members have 1000's of posts.
  3. Sounds like a head coach problem if his DC is not adjusting.
  4. The Brentwood/Brentwood Academy game last night was outstanding. Both teams played with a lot of determination. BruinBabe - Please update how things go in Knoxville. I can not make the trip.
  5. VBDad615 - How do you feel Father Ryan will be this year compared to your district? That's the first FR game I've seen but it's hard to judge a teams overall strength when playing against Brentwood. The first set yesterday was a rough one but looked like FR settled down the next two and played pretty well.
  6. If she had 62 swings, I would assume 58 were in play. Once her sister returns those swings will go way down. I was at the Brentwood/Father Ryan game last night and I'm here to tell you, if you want to see two All-State back row players, then go watch Brentwood. Andrea (Furman signee) and Mo (Freshman who will play at the highest level in college) are absolutely phenomenal. Smooth, consistent, great passers, and can read the play.
  7. Only Brentwood can unseat Brentwood, but I do not see that happening for several more years now. Every player is an underclass(woman). All of their junior class will all be playing volleyball at the next level in two years. They have 3 freshman on the team and 2 of those 3 would start for 90% of all TN high school teams. Brentwood Middle has 3 girls that are 5'11 or taller (one is a setter) that are still growing and can really play. The future is bright.
  8. K2ruth was called a troll last year by Coach Hames on this board when K2ruth claimed Maryville was the best team in the state. I've copied and pasted my favorite part where Coach Hames had to create a profile on Coach T just to write this one post. From Page 6 on the "Maryville State Champions" post: Let me clear up a few things that have been misrepresented here by K2ruth, who obviously is a troll and knows nothing about me or K2 volleyball club. 1. I am not coaching at Maryville in any way, shape, or form. Never been to a practice, nor do I plan on going. 2. My daughters are also not transferring to Maryville. They will be at Webb where they have been since they were freshmen. 3. We have several High School coaches that coach for us at K2, including my wife Chris. The notion that K2 is somehow anti high school is ridiculous. My wife coaches high school, and both my daughters play high school volleyball. We are proud when any K2 kids have success playing for and representing their school. They don't need to play for me to get "real coaching." Lastly, as a dad of two girls playing high school volleyball, I enjoy reading the predictions and opinions about who is the best, who will win district, state, etc.. on this board. Volleyball is being played on a high level all across the state from Memphis to Knoxville. I don't normally comment on any threads, just read them, but this thread was so far off base I just wanted to set the record straight. J. Hames K2 Volleyball Club
  9. We get it Mr./Mrs. Cunningham, she's the best player in Knoxville that needs better setting.
  10. With all due respect to our little angels, volleyball is not exactly a physically demanding sport. There's a reason volleyballs popularity is growing faster than basketball and other sports. There's less running in volleyball than just about any sport, there's no physical contact unless it's your teammate, and the girls can be girls more so than soccer and basketball. My daughter plays on a 1 team and attends one of the schools with an elite high school program (Go Bruins). I agree there needs to be down time and I purposely build that down time into her schedule. They do get 3 months off IF you add the time up. Nationals in June and a couple of 3 day camps these past weeks means she has played just 6 days of volleyball in 7 weeks and that is ALL she's done besides swim and jump rope. They'll pretty much have Nov and a lot Dec before club ball gets into the swing of things (pun intended). As I stated before, I agree that limiting playing and practice time is needed but it will not happen unless USA Volleyball requires it.
  11. The schedule has to start with USA Volleyball but as stated earlier, they push the HP program during the "off season". The top clubs in the country (OC, KIVA, A5, Munciana, etc.) pretty much play year round and they attribute their success to their training program. I'm not saying I agree or disagree, but it goes back to trying to keep up with the Jones. That's where USA Volleyball would have to implement a national dead period but unfortunately there's to much money at stake.
  12. Don't be surprised if Logan's sister in the other outside. Yes, she's a freshman, but she would start for 90% of high schools in the state. Garrett can also play outside. If I'm not mistaken, 5 out of Brentwood's potential 6 starters have already committed to D1 schools. I could make an argument that Brentwood has the best player in the state for their respective grades 8-12 in their system. The twin (freshman) towers at Summit will be legitimate players. Coach West will do a good job with Ravenwood. I would say she knows exactly what she has since she has probably coached most of the team at Alliance.
  13. How are the "poor rural schools" any different than Ravenwood, Centennial, and Indy on the level they are getting screwed?
  14. So the field is just one part of a massive campus overhaul.
  15. I would say turf fields are more important to the athlete than jumbo-trons.
  16. No slam taken. we are all proud of our girls. AAU in Orlando.......is anyone on this board taking their daughter(s) down?
  17. It's a shame Brentwood didn't know there was a middle school state championship tournament. Their middle school when 27-0 (54-0 in sets) this past season in arguable the toughest district in Tennessee. Sounds like it would have been a good match.
  18. Move along. There's nothing to see here boys.....just Memphis being Memphis.
  19. Is it a fact that the principal's vehicle was vandalized on NSD?
  20. Good hire. Unfortunately, he won't be working with the level of athletes he has with A5. Not sure his colleges had the talent A5 did. Good luck to Coach Clotfelter
